  1. OK thanks - I'll sort that out tonight at home.
  2. If I recall the VW poster advert for the Corrado when it launched in 1988 featured a yellow car (I think it was a G60) with some tag line about how your neighbour would hate you....don't know the exact words. Can anyone else remember this? Anyway I loved it and I do enjoy seeing Nuggets to this day. I agree yellow is better on smaller, sportier cars. I'd love a yellow Triumph Stag. The Audi S3 (Mk1) just about gets away with it but on a Porsche 911 or Ferrari 355 it looks wrong IMHO.
  3. Please can I have the new rear VR6 chrome badge, if still available
  4. Many thanks for the advice. I have been getting a lot of foam bits coming through the blowers so it does all point to that giving up the ghost. Now to find the time to go exploring:(
  5. VR6 - I know it gets hot and I'm well used to the initial hot air when setting off if the engine is still warm but it just seems to carry on without reverting back to something more in keeping with the outside temp.
  6. OK - so I've now uploaded a photo that is a small enough size but it still doesn't show against my profile. I must be doing something wrong:(
  7. Yes if I turn the dial clockwise it gets very hot from about 9/10 o'clock setting
  8. As title suggests is there anything I can check or fix? I thought the warm air was due to high external summer temps but now it's cooled down and with the heater setting turned all the way round to the blue (7 o'clock) and on fan speed 1 it still gets warm. Heater matrix was only replaced two year's ago.
  9. Thanks for the reminder. Corrado was repaired and serviced yesterday. Assuming it all works well over the weekend I will be phoning on Monday morning. It's time to stop the talk and pay for the torque:)
  10. This is all good stuff and shows the diversity of the Corrado forum:). Like Coullstar I also work in the industry and my 2+ years spent in Australia I was working on one of their large coal seam gas projects in Queensland. Extraction of CSG is slightly different to shale gas but that can wait for another day. The issue for me regarding shale gas and the fracking required to extract commercial quantities is that the economics would be fairly marginal in the UK. You have to drill an awful lot of wells to get sufficient gas (in Australia we're drilling 2,000+ to get enough for our LNG plant) and that takes up quite a wide area which is something we don't really have in the UK. Whilst the US may now almost be self sufficient in gas its actually depressed prices so much that all the big oil and gas companies are scaling back and leaving it to the smaller players. I can't see these guys having such rigid environmental protection procedures in place and so the risk of a major incident is fairly high. In the UK we are close to facing an energy crisis as the remaining coal fired power stations will be switched off within the next few years and so far there aren't any firm plans to make up the missing shortfall. I think the reality for the UK is that we will become a major importer of gas from the US in a few year's time as the US starts to export gas via new LNG terminals being built along the Gulf of Mexico. This will work out cheaper than establishing our own UK shale gas industry. One thing's for sure our energy bills will not be falling anytime soon:(
  11. I suffer from exactly the same problems with my VR6. It's getting serviced next week so I assume the garage will diagnose this and fix it for me although I will have a look at the vac lines and rubber hoses over the weekend.
  12. Excellent news:). The VR6 is getting serviced next week and assuming nothing major (and costly) is required I will be in touch. Just one quick question - what chance the cams, once ordered will arrive before Xmas? I don't know how long delivery has taken on average for the previous group buys.
  13. If you have the storm brochure then you'll know it says in the spec sheet that its a Sony CDX-600DSP

I checked the thread and it looks like they had more than 16 orders. Price back in 2012 was £355 for the bulk-buy. This was a discount of £40.

Me too. I wonder if there's enough demand for a group buy? It must have been 18 months since the last one
  16. Henry turned 32 this year. http://henryhoover.com/
  17. Very pleased with my purchases. Expertly packed and very quick delivery:)
  18. Quite a few brands no longer seem available. Anyway just got fitted some Continental Premium Contact 2 to the front and shifted the Pirelli P6000 to the rear. All seems good:)
  19. Many thanks. Saves me a few pennies:)
  20. Looks nice but totally overpriced. It needs to be a £60-80k car and be as compact as the original Sport Quattro S1 used in Group B rallying.
  21. I've resurrected my Corrado after 2+ years in storage and in the boot was stored all my cleaning products. Lots of Autoglym and Meguirs stuff - waxes, polishes, clay bar etc. I can't see any mention of an expiry date on the bottles - hence I assume they are good to use?
  22. Thanks Fay for organising. A turn out of 12 Corrados was good and very impressed with folk coming from as far away as Dorset and East Sussex
  23. Back home after 180 mile blast down the M1 and M40 and the car didn't miss a beat. I took it carefully to begin with as even though it was expertly stored for 2.5 years this was its first journey in anger. Now going to enjoy it and yes the smile is back on my face:)
  24. Today's the day. I've just added the Green Flag breakdown number into my mobile - just in case!
  25. After 2 years and 3 months the wait to get my Storm back on the road is almost over. MOT has been passed, insurance bought and car taxed. A 360 mile round trip on Saturday to south yorks awaits. I will be driving home very carefully - I might experience the inside lane of the motorway for the first time:) Massive thanks to the fellow Corrado owner who has looked after it for me whilst I was working in Australia - he's probably given it more TLC than I do!
