  1. It depends what you search on. I tried advanced search with terms "upload photos" and got nothing useful whatsoever.
  2. Great stuff there RW1. I've just checked mine and it's chassis no is within these ranges. So a 100% genuine Storm. On the subject of price I think you can charge a premium if you're able to throw in a lovely crisp Storm brochure with the car. Lol
  3. I want to know if a VW car has ever topped the UK sales charts before? I always thought the top sellers were Fords and Vauxhalls (Fiesta, Focus, Corsa, Astra etc).
  4. I return to UK from Oz this weekend but there's a good chance I'll be returning on a long term (2-3 year) assignment. If that happens I need to consider whether to sell or keep/store the Corrado. I'll be selling my Mk2 TT (08 plate, low mileage, ice silver, nappa red leather, 18 inch alloys etc) but that will be the subject of another "For Sale" thread in due course. However with the Corrado it's not as though selling will realise big bucks and now that I've found a good 'un I'm inclined to stick it in store. Hence in terms of long term storage what are my options? I guess costs for de-humidified storage could be high but just sticking it in a lock-up could lead to problems when I return. Can anyone speak from experience? Cheers
  5. IMHO it was never one of the top selling colours when C's were first made - there were always Greens, Blues, Blacks around. The rush for Silver only happened in the noughties influenced by the Merc and Audi ads.
  6. Anyone changed their battery recently? Is Varta a good brand to go for?
  7. No - not in my opinion. I upgraded to 288mm and at least the Corrado stops now. I didn't know much about weight difference but just wanted to be safer.
  8. Be careful on maintenance. I once owned a Mk1 TT and had to get a new Xenon headlight. I went and compounded this by getting an Audi dealer to fit it (you need to take the whole front bumper off). Anyway I didn't think £900 was value for money :mad2: . It will be interesting to know how it rides, an X-plate has 16 inch alloys compared to 51 onwards models that were on 18 inch alloys. Mine (an 03 plate) was a 225 hp model too but in Moro Blue and Silver/grey leather.
  9. OK - getting one out of two included isn't bad  . DVLA log books (v5) give you the number of former owners plus the VIN.
  10. Seeing as though I've just started a pretty huge colour poll, I was also thinking of other fairly interesting threads to start and the Storm register came to mind as well. Fairly easy to keep track off (relatively speaking anyway!) so I figured it might be easier for a Mod to keep track of. So ... if I started one, what would we want on the register? Forum Name Green or Blue Year/Plate Mileage Unique uection of VIN number (only unique thing about them really ;)) .... ? Location I don't want it too complicated but I do know there's more stuff that could be added. Is there anything really important that would be needed on an unofficial register? Auto or Manual VW Dealer sold by when new
  11. Looks a good 'un. Go careful with the loud pedal!
  12. If you've gone for the smooth look I wouldn't bother. I assume you still have the Storm badge by the gear console to remind you of what you have.
  13. Mine's arrived in Oz. The missus brought it out on the plane from the UK. I like it alot :notworthy: . Watch out for a special 2011 photo of the calendar being taken on location  .
  14. Merry Christmas from Brisbane - it's already Xmas Day here
  15. +1 when I get back from my jaunt down under. Also I've a BMC to fit at the same time. I won't know what's hit me  .
  16. The Phirm - on the Hants/Surrey/Berks border. Why do you need a garage - you're not finally getting a Corrado are you???
  17. Shame it will cost £70k. Don't forget £23k for a Storm back in 1995 equates to close on £40k today. That's too much for a VW car. As folk have said the TT is the current day successor -that's why I've had 2.
  18. I've paid. Decided not to give you my Brisbane address so instead it will go to the parents who will pass it on to my wife before she flies out here for Xmas. PS: I saw a wild koala today at Noosa
  19. It appears Pebsit sold his leather set plus all the trimmings for £1,100. Ker-ching!
  20. If you want a 4WD Audi A3 and as some folk have said maybe steer clear of S3 for less aggro whilst driving then I think you are left with 2.0 Tdi quattro or else petrol 3.2. If 2WD is fine maybe you should look to find an S-line 2.0T. Same engine as GTi and TT and a very fine unit it is too.
  21. In my opinion if you haven't got money to spare to fix things and you aren't a mechanic then any 15 year old car isn't for you. I spent ££ks on a new TT 2 years ago and all I've spent on it is about £200 on a service and £300 for 2 new front tyres. OK - so don't mention the hidden cost of depreciation :( . On the other hand my Storm cost me just under £4k and it's suffered no depreciation :) but I've spent around £3k on maintenance/upgrades in just under 2 years :( . I'm just finalising my 2011 budget (how sad!) but I expect to spend maybe £1k.
  22. Done at 140k - now runs really smooth (well when I'm back in the UK to drive it). Ashes test match for me on Sat and Sun  . Looks like we are up against it.
  23. Excellent news  . As other folk have said I'm sure you've learned a few tricks of the trade along the way. Good luck with the repair.
  24. Oh thanks - I'll keep an eye out. I spotted my other car today on the streets of Brisbane - a Mk2 TT - even had the same turbine alloys as mine.
