  1. Matt, please can I get one. PM me with payment details. Thanks
  2. It was great to catch up on Saturday. The parcel shelf was absolutely mint and makes such a difference to the sun-bleached one I'd been running with for the last 5 years. I treated the Corrado to a nice wash on Sunday after the blast across Salisbury plain and a new rear brake light. Hope you manage to sell the remaining parts.
  3. Will VW make any money out of these cars in the long run? They seem to be giving them away on lease deals.
  4. Looks a very smart Corrado. Is it anyone on the forum?
  5. The DVLA save money by no longer issuing paper tax discs and they also benefit as most cars when sold/bought will have tax paid by the seller and purchaser for one month. On another point car tax revenues have fallen massively as most new company cars fall in really low tax brackets. I think a BMW 320d costs £30 a year to tax
  6. I use Gliptone on mine and it seems to work pretty well if you want to keep the leather supple. I've also used it on TT's I've owned plus the current 911. One treatment per year seems to do the trick:)
  7. An Ed40 must be imminent. I think the GTi turns 40 next year. Impressed by these bhp gains. I imagine the price was less than a 263 cam and remap job on a VR6 and you get far more ponies for your money.
  8. I'll take the parcel shelf. Happy to collect in due course
  9. Very weird. How old is the magazine the advert was in?
  10. As previous folk have said when my current tax disc runs out on the Corrado it will be getting replaced with the 1996 version I have. I liked the fact they changed colour every year and of course I was always very careful at separating the perforations. Tears meant tears:)
  11. Looks really good. The VR6 must suit the easy going nature of driving in the US
  12. Very nice. I didn't think late style G60's existed - you learn something everyday! Does the dash include rotary dials for the heater or are they sliders?
  13. I picked up my new commuter car last weekend - a Mk6 Golf TSi. It's the GT spec with 160hp which is more than adequate for the start-stop commute I now have. At least the mpg on the commute is around 32-34 compared to 19-23 in the 911 or 21-27 in the Storm so by my man maths this means the car is already saving me money!
  14. Totally agree. On a separate note I can't believe the Blackberry Corrado VR6 (of ChrisL fame) is up for sale again. This will soon have more owners in a year than miles!
  15. I picked up my new daily commuter car today (Mk6 Golf GT 1.4 TSi) and noticed the garage had a Corrado VR6 on the forecourt. It looked in very good condition and the grey leather looked good with the blue metallic. http://www.alexanderdavid.co.uk/used-cars/volkswagen-corrado-2-9-vr6-3dr-ascot-201409067173048 I spoke to the dealer about it and he was very complimentary saying he didn't realise how good the Corrado VR6 still is.
  16. There's obviously an inverse mathematical equation between mileage and price in regards to how they value cars. A Mk1 Golf GTi with 16k miles is advertised for £25k. A 993 turbo with 31k miles is priced at £100k whereas one with 42k miles is priced at £90k. For the Porsche's it looks like a case of every 1k driven means £1k less in price.
  17. The engine upgrade involves fitting 263 cams and getting a re-map. Cost me £900 in total.

  19. Yes it will be the next season. G60 apparently.....
  20. Excellent - a great way to get this message across
  21. Looks an amazing car. Does anyone know what it sold for last time?
  22. Billcor, you're a bad influence. I've just changed jobs and decided neither the Corrado or 911 are happy doing a 12 mile commute to Woking that takes 40mins due to heavy traffic. Hence I've bought a 3rd car. Was going to get a Mk5 Golf GTi but then found for the same money I could get a Mk6 Golf TSi GT. It's got 160hp so it's nippy enough and fingers crossed far more economical.
  23. I was going to mention depreciation but then I read you've got a lease deal - very sensible. Mind you what's the longest you've kept a car? You wheel and deal like crazy:)
  24. Nice car. I know what you mean about garage modifications. I needed to remove some shelving when I changed dailies. New cars are so much bigger
  25. Personally I spend as much as I can on a daily as by its nature I'm using it every day. Better to be in something you really like than a £1k shed.
