Looks like a pizza carton - probably not Quattro Formaggio as that is what Audi uses

I think there's also the expectation gap. People are seduced by the slick VW ads and hence expect more from the car or dealership than what turns out in reality. The best analogy I can give is with Trip Advisor where some really expensive 5 star hotel gets a slating for poor room service (my champagne breakfast arrived 5 mins late) whilst some cr@ppy B&B gets the best marks ever as some poor bugger's turned up in the middle of nowhere, gone to the local tourism office and been amazed to be directed to a place which has a room with clean sheets and hot water available.

Tomorrow I fly to Brisbane for 3 months with work 8) . Guess this means I won't see any Corrado's for 3 months :( . What's the longest you've gone without seeing a 'rado?

Love the red leather, silver paint contrast 8) . That's why I ordered my Mk2 TT like that back in 2008 and I still haven't seen a better trim paint contrast. I hope she's reliable - good luck.

VR6 Storm Classic Green - back on the road

Last DIY job done today (foliage seal replaced). It will have a good clean in the morning before a 60 mile trip down to its wintering grounds in Sussex. A week today I'm off to Brisbane for 3 months so I will be Corrado-less until late Feb :( . Plenty of plans for 2011 (DG re-map, KW V1s, BMC) but things may change. For other folks 3 months has become 3 years! -
I actually surprised myself - after the rush hour deluge on the A329M last night and that fact the screen was misting like crazy even with the fan on setting 3 I decided this job had to be done today. In total it took me 1hr 15mins. Thankfully I had replacement windscreen lower trim clips as the windscreen repair man last year obviously thought it better to break them all and instead use masses of silicon :bad-words: .

Grab a test drive in both and see what you think. If this was the choice I'd get an S3. If you added in an R32 then I'd have that instead.

It's more profit (in the long run) and less hassle for insurers :bad-words: . They really just want to pay out, get the car and scrap it. Cut their losses on this car so it can't come back and bite them. I can see why Kip wants to avoid Cat D as even if you disregard any resale value I'm sure all the insurers will know it's Cat D so there's no chance of getting an agreed £4k value again and the premium will be higher. The insurers will be thinking we've paid out big time once on this car so we don't want to do that again....or am I too cynical?

This is one job I keep putting off. I got the parts sometime in August but have found no time to fit them - honest  . Will now have to wait until 2011 as I'm off to Oz next week for 3 months.

Someone keeps a rat in there or was that in the engine

DG Autotech - Uprated headlight looms - First batch sold out

They sold as quickly as Take That tickets. -
Phone Kate and Chris on Autumnwatch - it will good to see some Corrado footage on the telly.

What's your current top 5? You'll have even less spare time once you own one - you will always be repairing it....no I mean cleaning it :norty:
-
Simples! Go and see the one that's for sale.
-
When will we see such prices again? Mind you James I reckon a Campaign is worth a few bob more than a Storm so I guess you will be closest.
-
I think it's a great period feature  . They're a perfect fit for UK coinage circa 1990....I think
-
Nah - it will definitely wear the Audi four rings - that way they can charge an extra £20k for it. I will still buy one though

volksworld13 lemons transplant begins christmas eve!!

Love this - a nugget with leather. Good luck with the restoration. -
Delfinis - just what I needed. Some top tips from someone in the know :notworthy: . Luckily for this 3 month period I will get my Dad to drive it once in a while. If I get my time in Oz extended I'll deal with that next year.

I'm flying down under with work next month which should tie in nicely with being in Brisbane for the 1st Ashes test but I digress. I'm away initially for 3 months so my Corrado will be over-wintering at my parents in Sussex. There's a big possibility 3 months will turn into 3 years so my question concerns how long a Corrado or any car can be stored for without it turning to dust. Has anyone put a car into storage for that long and if so what was it like when the time came to resurrect it?

Is Alonso going to win the title due to Ferrari favouring him from the get-go this season? Very interesting to know that for the last 2 races if they finish Vettel, Webber, Alonso then it's Alonso's title but if it's Webber, Vettel, Alonso then it's Webber's title. The likelihood of Vettel letting Webber through though is nil. I reckon Alonso will win the title but his margin will be less than the points he gained when Massa let him through a few races ago.

Scrapers are pennies from Tescos. All main supermarkets now seem to have a small section of products so just get one from there. If you want to think of a proper winter pack then make sure you have the following a scraper, some de-icer and a nice wooly jumper in the boot.

Maybe I'm getting old (39 :( ) but this recent Autocar article sums things up nicely. http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/stillatt ... e-fun.aspx This is why a Corrado is a great car for UK roads. It's not just point and go like modern turbodiesel rep mobiles. Instead you need to use a bit of roadcraft to get the best out of one. Does anyone agree?

vr6 storm... bargain or not(UPDATED 14TH OCT)
Bullfinch replied to VR6 Lee's topic in General Car Chat
I loved the journey pics. A touch more scenic than my trip - a train trip from Bracknell to Chelmsford will never feature on the Great Rail Journeys in the World  . It will be interesting to see what a bit of brotherly competition does.
