How was the test drive in the Scirocco? On my return from Oz I had one for a few months before the 911. It was a 2.0 TFSi which went perfectly well. You don't get any exciting engine sounds but VW do try and engineer a bit of a throaty exhaust. I didn't think the dash and some of the plastics were finished in that high a quality material and also the rear headrests hampered the rear view. I owned a Mk2 TT for 3 years and that was a much better put together car than the Rocco.

I was out cleaning the Corrado today and my regular postman gave it the big thumbs up. Said my Storm was in great condition and he's always liked Corrados. Apparently a 16v lives nearby on another part of his round.

BMC CDA - with bracket and original box BMC CDA air filter for sale. This was bought off a fellow forum member who had it on their VR6 before they supercharged it. It had done around 5,000 miles on their car. It comes in the original box and has the bracket fixing required to attach it. I never fitted this to my VR6 as in the end I've opted to keep my car OEM. Free shipping to mainland UK included within the price. List Date: 7/21/2014 For more info, click here to view the original listing: BMC CDA - with bracket and original box -------------------------------------- SOLD -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: BMC CDA - with bracket and original box Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!

Capitalism at work. At least you were honest from the start with this thread. If you keep a tally of what you get I look forward to the final answer - can you double the £1,700 you paid for it?

OCD and Corrado ownership aren't a great combo. It looks like more work than a £230 tax disc. I wish you good luck and hope there aren't any more nasty surprises

I'd scratch your itch by hiring one for the weekend. http://www.vintage-classics.co.uk/ This company now has one on their books. I hired their Stag for 24 hours to tick that off the bucket list. We had perfect weather (it was the weekend before Glastonbury) so it was top down motoring all weekend. It was a right bugger to start the next day and made my mind up that my lack of spanner knowledge will preclude me from ever owning one. The guy also has an E-type Jag but he warned me that driving that was something else as the technology dates back to the 50's - he thought a Stag was modern by comparison.

VR6 Storm Classic Green - back on the road
Bullfinch replied to Bullfinch's topic in Members Gallery
The Storm passed it's MOT today with no advisories. I've done 3,022 miles in the last year so my 3k limited mileage insurance looks spot on. Here's a recent photo with my daily lurking in the background:) -
I say go for it. Do some careful research and drive a few 996's to get the feel of them. I suggest looking at the Carrera 4S - its wide body looks the business. I was lucky enough last year to buy a 997 Gen 2 Carrera 4S and it's a cracker.

which cars have the best interior and body trim quality?
Bullfinch replied to davidwort's topic in General Car Chat
From my experience VW made a massive leap with the Golf Mk IV in terms of interior quality. The Audi Mk1 TT interior was very good and as an everyday manufacturer Audi are still top of the class. When I ran a new Scirocco for a few months I felt many of the plastics were cheap. My Porsche 911 997 gen 2 has to have the best interior in a car I've owned - everything feels really solid and looks great. My 19 year old Corrado is still rattle free so Karmann must have done a good job too. -
They look really good. You mentioned you upgraded the door speakers as well - what units did you go for?
-
Hope someone on the forum snaps it up and you get your money back.

Sorry prefer overseas races. It's going to be wet this weekend

Stainless Steel OE look exhaust.. Anyone interested?
Bullfinch replied to VR6Pete's topic in Group Buy Feelers
Good luck in getting this right. The OEM look is the best -
What number Corrado is this for you? Are you into double figures:)
-
Very nice. It's probably one of the coolest cars from the early 80's and will only go up in value - maybe not to Pagoda SL levels. They come in at all prices on car and classic website. This one could be a similar spec to the one you're seeing. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C272401

That is shocking. Seller says they've just sold their Storm. Hope it's not a forum member

Looks great. It's reminded me to join the Porsche Club of GB so I get to hear about these events

Some well known forum cars are going for good money. It's good to see some folks being rewarded for their time and dedication:)

A friend is on the West Sussex Police stand with a new 911 done up in jam sandwich livery. Look out for Inspector Biggs!
-
Enjoy the storm. Btw the green one's are called Classic Green not Pearl Green. Pearl Effect is what they called the metallic paint finish.
-
Welcome to Storm ownership. I recognise that photo from the "For Sale" thread. Is it right to put 2 and 2 together?
-
As mentioned before it explains the reason for selling the Blackberry VR6. It is an amazing Storm
-
Steve Coogan had one apparently.
