You can get the two hoses in the bay still - not cheap though - and plenty of people have uses hose they have sourced somewhere else - although the VAG items come pre-shaped. You can also still get the feed hose that runs from the filter to the engine bay.

Where exactly is this earth in the engine bay ? Was going to replace my aerial but should probably have a look at this first. Pic would be great.

I drive mine every day or so and fix whatever needs to be fixed and service it regularly - if I had two I might consider being even nicer to it, but one costs me enough as it is! The only thing that annoys me is the paint and some small rust spots, and these are always on my to do list. I say enjoy it while you can...

I can see the following for the plug - if you need the wiring you'd need to get that separately (wiring repair kit with pins on the end) and crimp it in. 1H0973204 - 4-pin 1H0959481B - 3 pin up to chassis 50 R 000 001 1H0973203 - 3 pin from chassis # 50 R 000 001 Depends on if you have 4 or 3 pins on the sender.
-
That's just your dealer - what part# did you order - is it the plug you're looking for ?
-
Into oil filler cap I presume ? ;)
-
It's probably just a loose heat shield somewhere - there's lots of them under the car. Could also be the exhaust touching some other part at certain revs, or something loose ( a bit of rust, twig, stone, etc) inside one of the silencer boxes. Happens often when you drive through flood water. I reckon a mechanic who just says replace the cat without checking the readings is just being lazy.

You don't need to buy a whole loom - you can buy the plug housings on their own from VAG, and then swap over the contact pins.
-
050103663 is the most common one - it's orange and supersedes the earlier red one. Cost me €3.00 recently. The billet ones are nice, but pricey, and be careful you don't wreck the dipstick tube when fitting the - they need to be hammered on with a mallet.
-
Shoudn't re-use the split pin though - and those metal caps can be a pain to get off and back on.
-
I think the dealers have that ;) - it just doubles the price for any part automatically
-
Just to update on this anyway - the parts arrived. Prices were: rear wiper arm cap - 3A0955435 - €3.15 washer jet - 535 955 985 - €19.08
-
I'd say when it comes down to it we own and drive a C because it is a C. That's really all there is to it - the perceived value is something intangible.

FYI I ordered, among a lot of other stuff: Rear Wiper/Washer ----------------- 3A0955435 - cap for rear wiper arm 535955985 - rear washer jet (this includes both the spindle insert with plastic pipe that connects to the feed tube and the jet that is inserted from the top) from a German dealer site, Autohaus Schlagheck. They have been very helpful and I have been trying to get a discount with them and they were interested in possibly having a reference from the forum or certainly getting more business. So if you do use them, just mention that you came from the Corrado Forum, and my name, Chris (in Ireland). I was born in Germany, but they have good written English, take PayPal or bank transfer/credit card, shipping is reasonable depending on weight class, and they have access to the dealer network in Germany, VAG stock and a good relationship with Classic Parts as well. It's often worth trying two or three different avenues and it might happen that one will have something that the other says is out of stock. http://www.autohaus-schlagheck.de/unsere+services/zubehoer+teile.98.html You can check part numbers and order from this link: http://www.online-teile.com/vw In extreme cases, especially for some weird Audi Quattro parts, I have sometimes had luck in the US - http://www.busdepot.com (you can check part#s online) Otherwise you have the official VW Classic Parts site: http://www.vw-classicparts.de/ You can check for availability here: http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/bestand/ They also have an online section for common stuff: http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/shop/ They speak good english as well, so drop them an email even if a part is not listed. http://www.vwheritage.com/ have the UK Classic parts license, sometimes they can find stuff in UK stock. Also, dealers in Ireland are on a separate parts channel, so sometimes there is stock there or in other countries that doesn't show up. Just because the UK is showing as NLA does not always mean the part is not available. I've ordered a rake of parts, including the above, and am waiting for it to come in, so will know then if it is correct and actually there. So that's it - please, please don't buy up all the bits I'm saving up for! ;) but it's always better to create a demand through official channels. Best of luck.
-
I think I may have a lead on rear wiper jets from Germany - bear with me and I'll post the details when the order arrives. This is the two part jet that only came on Corrados.
-
Yep - still probably cheaper than the dealers though. Over here in Ireland it's pot luck if they catch it or not at customs - always worth taking the chance.

Hi - could I get two sets please if there are any available ? Thanks ---------- Post added at 12:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 PM ---------- Hi - could I get two sets please if there are any available ? Thanks

You can get some handy adapters that pretend to be a blade fuse with leads that connect to the multimeter and this allows you to measure load and current drain through the fuse board. Just connect it to each fuse in turn and see what's happening when the ignition is off.
-
I'd go for Quantum Synta - stick with VAG, MANN or Hengst brand oil filters.
-
All I know is that I paid around 5K for mine with 36,000 miles on it 3 years ago, and wouldn't have a hope of ever getting that back. But I don't want it, I bought the car to drive and it's a daily - I don't see it goping anywhere in a hurry, unless the worst were to happen.
-
Ordered one of these as well - looking forward to fitting it soon.
-
Ah - was trawling through some old ones as well - thought I was replying to one of those!
-
Sorry to resurrect this - but did anypne ever find a part# for the red single pin connector in the pictures ?

The Storm being faster in reverse is an easy fix though - according to the Bentley, you just need to carefully prise two badges off with a flat blade screwdriver.
