Check my post above - part number is in it.

G is for the gauge sender, WK is for the warning light - what kind of sender did you use ? They are rated for different pressures, so check that first - you will get high readings when you start the car, but once it warms up it should settle at 4-5 at idle. Original sender is 1-pin, fitted with a T piece, part#535 919 561B, but 2-pin gauges should work if they are 0-10bar, e.g. some Audi Coupes. Also check that it's not earthing somewhere along the way.

Yes - one for full size spare, one for the space saver. Essential when using bigger front disks as the spacesaver won't fit.
-
Nope - not them - my 93 didn't have the loom fitted - the connector is different to what you see there anyway.
-
Yep, glove box light is the way to go - use a good earth as well - either run one to the footwell or the cigarette lighter.
-
Irwins work well - use plenty of pen oil and some heat first - a bang with a chisel and hammer to shock it won't do any harm either. I've had luck sometimes with hammering on a slightly smaller socket or on a hex head, a star key to start it off. Worst case is you need to cut and drill - and this will take ages unless you have a really heavy duty drill. Just take your time and be patient.
-
Good choice - I run VAG 288 pads and discs and for a daily they work really well in all kinds of weather.

There are also two "air ducts" that sit below and on each side of the front splitter. These are still available with all their fixings.

Once you take it over 4000rpm the VR will give you all the sounds you need. I had a filter on my MkII and it was a right pain - I'd recommend a stainless exhaust if you want more noise. Yep, the tax and the pump prices are a killer over here! Only good car related news I've had recently is that AXA have given me life long no-claims protection. As far as the filter goes - various tests have shown that there is no measurable performance gain apart from an increase in induction noise - and some people have reported problems with their MAF when oil gets on to them. The OEM filter flows exactly as much air, and probably filters more. Only way to really get more air in there is a blower or a turbo.

Welcome - I'm in Dublin and mine's a daily driver. Don't bother with the K&N, you won't see any noticable gains - just change the stock paper filters regularly.

I has lots of problems on my MkII because I was replacing bits of the cooling system piece meal - what tended to happen was that when you replaced one old part, e.g. the water pump the pressure in the system would rise and spring a leak somewhere else. If I was to do it again I'd just renew the whole system at the same time - you will have it drained anyway. So I'd recommend saving, and doing: Rad Temp sender Stat housing and stat Water pump if noisy Hoses Crack pipe Oil cooler

They are good pads, but very expensive - probably the best of the "performance" ones. I ran them for about 5K, but eventually took them off and went back to standard because of noise and too much dust. They will bite earlier and fade later, but tbh, if you're not on a track you won't notice the difference.

Now on 68,564 miles and going strong. I got both bumpers resprayed professionally and a mild polish, done by a local bodyshop - not that cheap but a professional job They do a lot of crash repairs for local VW, Audi and Merc garages. Took the bumpers off, rubbed down completely and sprayed and baked. Looks almost like a new car now. ---------- Post added at 10:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 AM ---------- Got around to doing a few jobs recently: - Replaced the fubarred antenna with a new one - new base etc sourced online from the states, all with original connectors, so plug and play. A 20 minute job, just needed to be careful removing the rear trim on the roof and the headlining. Great reception now - the old amplified base was soaked and corroded to hell. - Got around to fixing my headlight loom which had a bad earth. I rewired it with new cable and fitted OEM connectors and a sealed box for the relays and new fuse holders. I used Posi product no splice crimp connectors. Also fitted a OEM connector hacked out of an old headlight for where the original loom connects - now I just need to plug in the original socket to get it to work. Then re-wrapped everything in loom tape. Next job is to fit my lights-on buzzer - will be using a blank on the original relay panel and fitting new blades into the central electrics and splicing into the existing loom.

Year round - 69K on it at the moment - two child seats in the back and shopping bags and buggy in the boot!

Gamma IV Cassette Player has green illumination, turny dial knobs and CD changer control - if you want a really good CD player that looks well in an old school VAG, try a Nakamichi CD35/45 or CD300 or a Becker - but be prepared for a raid on your wallet or cc.
-
Try a search - plenty of info. In the UK they were dealer fitted - usually Sony or Panasonic tape decks with CD changer capability. On the continent, the Gamma IV (which looks very nice).
-
They need to be adjusted to sit level and snug - that will get rid of the wind noise and fit issues.

Any VR6 shields left?
-
Mine arrived last week - no customs duty asked for - looking forward to some decent reception soon.

Still available from Classic Parts and Autohaus Schlagheck in Germany

Had 3 Maxi Cosis in mine. All fit no problem in the rear bench. http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/baby/cabriofix.aspx http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/toddler/priori-xp.aspx http://www.maxi-cosi.com/ie-en/products/car-seats/child/rodi-airprotect.aspx Never had a problem with the two (4 and 18 months) in the back at the same time! Proves the C can be a family car!

Is that an OBD2 chip ? Do you have the original ECU that came with the VSR ?
-
Classic parts have the rear dampers - all the other stuff is still available. Not cheap though, and will take some time to put together as there were a few variations in the spring combos and the plus/standard suspension

How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?
fendervg replied to Overmind's topic in General Car Chat
