Yes you can. I would look for the Problem first. Unsure about new diesels if the pump has any electrical parts but in general older diesels wont need any power to run.

Its not as simple as swopping the top and the bottom over. If your handy with a welder then its possible but definatly not straight forward. Even the subframe is hard to split

Well 17 years on the car still has its Original Exhaust; but we have been warned to expect trouble ahead. Main potentials arising are the Rear and front boxes :-( From the Posts placed Supersprint seem to have the edge I was quite shocked at the prices but hey ho the Joys!

I had the heart stopping mainbeam lights giveing up late one night :shock: Anyway,it was caused by the fuseholder;water penetration has caused it to corrode and oxidise as well. I went and bought sealy waterproof fuse holders from Lucas and since then No problems. The relays havent been a problem,I go a bit :nuts: with WD40 under the hood before winter. I still wouldnt be without the Loom Upgrade even though it was £50. I regret not taking the slamcover already! ttfn Roy

Our valver doesnt knock with 95 but as a treat to it and us,every so often we fire in some optimax. its more perky...Honest! The only special petrol that doesnt come through our local terminal is the Ultimate super unleaded,that is brought in specially due to not much being sold and to keep it fresh! Depending where you live,is where the petrol comes from; what Im trying to say is SHell pull out of BP and the opposite too. Bio diesel is big in the south,thankfully due to transport constraints its not really present in the Scotlandshire area.

Do the headlights come on? do you get ignition lights? lots of questions dont presume its the battery and why did it go flat? New battery is an easy fix but try and find out why it went flat.

Try banging the dash. The old mk1 used to do that and its dry joints on the dashboard lights. I used to bang it and it would go off :norty:

Hi Craig, I would take it as a good wake up call. I got clocked doing 96 in a 60 but being nabbed made me more cynical of my own driving and in the end made me a better safer driver. 3 points and £60 is a fixed penalty so its as cheap as it gets. Chubbz

Applies in scotland Only. you only need one cop in England and wales. The second in Scotland acts as a witness. cops dont like you getting out of the car as soon as they pull you; goto them and say sorry before they invite you into the back of the car. Make sure its not an armed response car when doing this ;-) I tend to say sorry but bottom line dont admit anything,they have to proove it and saying you were is not enough for court.
