  1. if it is the master and its obsolete at vw, im sure i could get hold of an oe spec one for you. just give me a shout if needs be.
  2. indeed, should be bedded in after around 500 miles. possibly damaged the master cylinder whilst bleeding?? is the pedal spongy? or just very long travel? think the test was hold the brake in as far as it will go and then turn the engine on and see if it goes further down.
  3. did the brakes for my old man on hiz mazda premacy and the sodding nipple snapped flush with the caliper instead of undoing. any tips for getting the bugger out to replace it? or is drilling it the only way?
  4. 2.0 on a j plate? engine conversion?

    ecu differences

without seeing the part numbers cant be certain, but for example, its the standard vw process to change the letter at the end when they make a revision. id say youve got the correct one if its a very similar number to the old one.
  6. g40 plugs for sure. im on ngk platinum ones, cheaper than bosch and just as good. def go with the injectors. stick a wanted up for the fpr and see what deals there are to be had, wont do any harm to have it.
  7. where are you? front bit of the sill might be ok, its had a patch welded in on the part under the door, but the bit below the wing hasnt been touched. rest of it is ok. im in leicester.
  8. lol, more chance of winning the lottery than getting them on the phone. he seems to dissapear quite alot, but they are genuine and wont srew you over. http://forums.vwvortex.com/member.php?16435 is him im led to believe.
  9. The tps bloke told me its the same cable as the 16v too, never double checked on this but i dont think he would have any reason to make it up. He aint the sharpest tool in the box though.
  10. You can just do what alot of people do now, they break up whats inside the cat and pull it out. I have heard people calling it de catting, but in my eyes its not really.
  11. It does sound expensive, but thats about the going rate at the mo! Depends on cost of springs really. If you give me the number plate i can find the trade price on them for you.
  12. They come up on ebay fairly often. Would look at them before buying as they have given up on whoever is selling them.
  13. Same as a corrado g60 im pretty certain. Mines about 5 months old ;) Ring vw parts to double check.
  14. gutted for you mate. vr pricing isnt my strong point, but based on how clean it is id guess 4500 is a fair price given work done and crap market.
  15. odds are on all the belts will be knackered after standing for that long, whihc would eplain the noise. tyres will have flat spots in them, you could try and play dumb at a part worn place and swap them. brakes may well be siezed, and bushes gone if you didnt give the corners a bounce every so often. most probable is slave cylinder. sorry for the doom and gloom, but standing a car is really not good for them, but you never know my mates passat b2 was sat for 3 1/2 years and went straight through mot.
  16. yeah sounds good to me. enjoy tractoring! im down to the diesel bora from tomorrow :( people always want them as they can achieve a stupid amount of miles if you keep them serviced. 12 months free motoring and you could still make that back in parts if worst comes to worst.

    What a Joke

not sure the wheels are even bbs, look like lenso's to me. does the fat bloke in the blue t-shirt come with the car??
  18. christ girls, there only bloody jokes. never going to please everyone.
  19. hopefully its had a replacement turbo by now. clutch and gearbox too, then your laughing. i assume its not too pricey because of the milage. just look through the recipts for the big few and make a call from there. with cambelt being done thats one worry less. run it into the ground. polish bloke at work had one with 190k on the clock and his never seemed to break other than the clutch once. think he still got £750 when he flogged it.
  20. not round my neck of the woods they dont! sounds like prison talk to me  well a dissapointing last week for me, nothing remotely interesting to have a rip with. found a tsi, with only a red i and it was pants. the first one had all three red (wasnt aware there were different ones!) mr2 which i wasted. and a daddy 911 turbo which was just immense to see it rip in a straight line, awesome noise! corrado was sadly parked up today and the charger removed. been a pleasure to waste petrol in it!
  21. 1p off after it rose by what 3p a litre with the increased vat!!! dont buy this bull **** please. its just a lame attempt to get some points back in the poll's.
  22. got my renewal through for the rado, £20 up from last year even though i have another years no claims?? brentacre no longer do forum discounts aswell for anyone wishing to know :(
  23. from what i gathered, they adjust the fuel pressure regulater readings to make the ecu believe there is less fuel than there actually is. wont do the engine any harm though, people have done it with diesel engines for donkeys years, just smoke there tits off when you nail it. guess you dont like bikers then.
