  1. Like I said... Normal. When was the last time you taken that pipe off?
  2. There should be a switch... For the boot light?
  3. It is normal to be a bit of oil in the intake becouse the engine oil breather is connected to it, you can have a oil catch tank installed, or like some people to save some money they put a filter on it. Dont recomend the later mainly due to being ilegal and fail mot. I would say dont bother about it..... Unless you have a g60. On my vr6 I had a problem that it was burning oil, turned out the valve guides were worn and it was spitting oil to the intake trought the breather
  4. Best way is to read RW1 great wiki page... Have a search you will find it.
  5. Im not shure if it can be cleaned... Maybe take it out and "exercise" it a little and see. There is a method to adjust it wich envolves a 4mm drill bit, but I have the bentley manual at home ill take a pic when I get there
  6. Yes you should get a ecu reset. Or else that fault code will come up once in a while
  7. I would check the pot at the throttle, might need adjusting. Vr6 have this pot on the throttle so that when you let go of the throttle it brings the flap slowly to close.
  8. Have you put your usual fuel in there or you used some different?... I would say injector. Remove all spark plugs and have some one crank the engine for you, while you check if theres fuel spray coming out of the cylinders. Careful though I had a problem like that after filling up with esso one day. Turned out the injector number 1 was over fuelling. Is yours smoking at all?
  9. You will have to check the fault on the ecu with some diagnostic equipment... Vagcom
  10. Check engine light?!?!? As far as I know only canadian corrados have mil light (malfunction indicator lamp)
  11. Hum.... Where did I put my original filter box.... I know I had it. I want to try it. When I bought my c it came with the k&n... Its been there ever since
  12. Welcome to the forum..... Hummmm... Retro rimsssss... Pics please ;)
  13. +1 to water pump. Do you have hot air inside the car? It can be thermostat, water pump, headgasket. Allways start with the easy ones
  14. I dont know how the rsr outlet is but make shure the pipe is clean of oil when fitting
  15. 6 days left with 2 bid already.... Dont think its going to be a bargain
  16. Well snap on is good.... If it brakes you can get it fixed for free... (life time warranty). 200nm is alot, you will never need to tighten something that much. Ussualy bolts that require to be good tight, it will be something like 60nm + 90degrees (flywheels). But I would save some money and buy not one but two. One 1/2 that makes 60nm up, and another one 1/4 that makes around 5nm to 60nm. At work I have two and both cheap ones not snap on or the like and do the work just fine.
  17. Ok... Camber can be altered in the rear... But yes, it can only be "adjusted" in the front. Now when you say alignment thats tracking... Front wheels align with rear wheels and steering straight, or you can adjust toe. Toe is front wheels pointing inwards of the car or outwards.... And then you have balancing, thats ajusting the weight distribucion on the wheels so that they turn without any vibration. Hope that helps
  18. Sometimes it does happen they cant open the nut on the trackrod and they tell you to go to a garage to sort it out. Its a good ideia to replace the tracking rod, and if youre replacing the rod then you should replace the rod ends. But make shure you buy good make ones. Now for the camber.... If you replaced the bolts for the ball joint in the bottom then it all depends how youve done it, the camber might be out.
  19. Vcds lite will do that yes... Basic settings
  20. I would save that money... Vcds licence for $99 and a usb cable from ebay for £20. Ive used mine in any car across the vag range and sometimes I use it at work. Yes, if you want to use it for proper diagnostics including messuring block that require live data then yes, ross tech hardware is much better (faster). There are some drawbacks from the usb cable from ebay, like some proplems communicating with abs brakes (can be solved very easy). But for a diyer and for some basic fault reader and pretty much everything, very good.
  21. I recommend buying one of the cables from ebay and the buy the software from rosstech. 99$ for the vcds light
