  1. MOT on Monday so I did some basic checks. I found that both number plate lights were out. This seemed strange as the garage said they replaced one last year so after popping it out I found the wire had been broken... I'm guessing it's been broken ever since I bought the car. So I soldered in a new piece of wire. One bulb is still out but the other is working now so I will try and get a new bulb before Monday. But hopefully with one of the two bulbs working it shouldn't cause a fail.
  2. Lol every time someone puts these up for sale their arm gets bitten off :)
  3. I'm going to say £4k to £4.5k depending on how quickly the seller wants to sell it. Maybe £5k tops if the right buyer is around. Consider what else is available for that kind of money.
  4. Had a great time today and thoroughly enjoyed the time trials. There were some very exotic old cars there. I will upload some pictures and videos over the next few days. Thanks to Ron for organising it.
  5. I wouldn't take my Corrado to a dealer for servicing for two reasons; Firstly it will be out-of-control expensive, and secondly a good specialist is more likely to have knowledge of the Corrado. My local dealer knows my car because of the parts I buy but I don't get it serviced there.
  6. I just booked in for an MOT on 3rd June at SE Autowork in Guildford and the guy on the phone said he's not seen a Corrado in years and now has two in on the same day. Anyone here?
  7. I'd agree with £1.5k for a gamble but with a schrick I'd up that to £1.8 to £2k. It's also worth phoning VW and asking if they have any service history on it. I did that with a Corrado before buying mine. They had trouble finding it but eventually someone called me back with some info.
  8. Loving that. Even more comfy than Corrado recaro's.
  9. Another vote for Chrome / brushed alu.
  10. Drove it. Spiritedly. With the roof open, windows down and music on. God I love this car :) I was about to get a few bodywork items done but I think that will have to wait a few more months as I just blew the Corrado savings by booking an impromptu trip to see my brother in Groningen via Amsterdam next weekend   :bounce2: EDIT: MurdocMac that looks fantastic.
  11. Shame to see you sell up. But the van looks great and I'm sure the family fun will make it worth it.
  12. I think you need to decide whether you simply want a faster car or a faster more modern car. If you just want to go faster then a turbo in the Corrado makes sense. But if you want something a little more confortable and modern then it won't compare to an M3 which will certainly be superior. It's a combination of the raw nature of the Corrado and the obscurity that make me love it. The icing on the cake after Stanford Hall was on the drive back when I passed a white mk2 GTI on the M25 and we gave each other a mutual thumbs up. You won't get that in an E46.
  13. Proof positive that the CCGB £10 membership is worth every penny.
  14. in the words of Yoda... Arm. Bite it off you should.
  15. Thank you, very much appreciated :)
  16. The picture is a little small but they look like BBS RX2's (genuine splits): Mine: http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?56282-Storm-grey-VR6-A-little-update/page10
  17. if you don't believe you are to blame them you should put that position on the insurance accident form. However from the limited information available it does sound like you could be at fault for reversing from a minor road to a major road.
  18. Third. If the above fall through then I can collect
  19. Just got home and gave the car a quick wash to get the sandstorm off it. It was a really great day. Fantastic venue, decent weather and a strong turnout. Thanks to all of the ccgb for organising it. I will put some pictures up later.
  20. I'll be aiming to join you at M1 J9 Premier Inn, although there's a strong chance I'll get up too late so 50/50 chance I'll make it :D
