  2. I even read the letter twice thinking I must have read it wrong :) It was with Lynbrook insurance under equity red star. The cover even include free breakdown cover. So Iam now only paying £150 for a years cover. With this classic car cover you CANT use the car to travel to and from work.
  3. Continental Drive belts and ATE regulator seems to be very good price...
  4. Got a nice suprise today...I got a cheque from my classic car insurance company for £115 pounds. This was because they say I only did 1000 miles last year on my 8000 miles limit policy. Didnt know they give money back.
  5. Not sure if you are aware of this site. It is very similar to Eurocarparts. But the same parts sold here is a lot cheaper compared to Eurocarparts even without discount codes. http://www.carparts4less.co.uk Thought you guys might be interested.
  6. cheers for the reply chaps I will see if I can get them to be true again when I get a chance.
  7. I purchased some second hand front VR6 hubs recently and today I took them to a garage to have the front wheel bearings pressed out. They managed to press the old bearings out fine but on closer inspections when I got back it seems that they have somehow bended the metal abs rings in the process. Should I just source another set of metal rings and not bother to try and get them knock back into shape as I dont think it will be perfect again and may affect the abs sensors.
  8. I may pop down to take some pics etc...but wont be in my raddo as its sorned at the moment.
  9. I have got myself a spare rear axle for refurb aswell any tips on getting the old rear bush out. Did you use a press for this and are you planning on getting some new stub axles.
  10. Probably best to hang on till your new headlight swich arrives...If things doesnt go to plan whilst your doing the temporary mod you risk shorting the circuit and may be a fire risk. It will be more of a ball ache.
  11. Iam sure that there are 2 screws on either side of the slamp panel that you can only get to by taking the front bumper off. Cant remember for sure. If the bumpers are coming off its best to also support the engine.
  12. Ebay is your best bet if you are after a mint condition aerial base. I bought a base recently with the gromit a few months back a single wired version and it was perfect.
  13. Are the Lemforder branded Track Rod End any good. They are selling these at the eurocarparts website or should I stick to VAG. Anyone has any experience with these ? cheers
  14. Yeah these switches are great...8vMatt you must be so proud to see these switches going into corrados worldwide.
  15. Good work. What anti rust primer did you use any recommendation...
  16. No need to take the wheel off..if your car is low...you may have to jack the car up slightly so that you can thread the auxillary belt from the bottom working yourself to the top. I got a halford M8 bolt as in the pic as its "strength rated" as I dont want the bolt to snap when doing this job.
  17. Engine bay looks great...I noticed you still have a M8 bolt still screwed into your aux belt tensioner.
  18. I think the black ones were used on the mk2 golf
  19. Do you know if the rear brake carriers on the 8v is the same as those used on a vr6 ? Have you got a set in good nick.
  20. I didnt even get this far...I gave up when I coudnt get the lower widscreen trim off!! :)
  21. Looks a very neat job with the carbon wrap...good work !
  22. Anyone know how much genuine vag rear stub axle cost for a vr6 ? Iam sure it wont be cheap.
  23. Iam just trying my luck but may have to get a new set if nothing comes up...Looking for a good set of Koni top adjustable or may be tempted to some KW1 etc let me know what you have ? cheers
  24. Iam sure VW only sold them in batch of 20.
  25. Today the weather was good so decided to attempt the auxillary belt change on my VR that I had purchased many months ago. Thanks to the how to guide from the sprinter magazine I gave this a go and after triple checking that the belt was threaded correctly. I fired her up and it was all fine. Was well chuffed with my effort. Have never done anything like it before. My advice would be to start threading the belt from the bottom and work your way up to the top.
