I did this to mine. Its not too difficult once you have taken the bumper bolts off. If I remember correctly. This is is what I did to take the slam panel off. 1. Support the engine from underneath 2. Bumper will need to come off – held on by 4x bolt (two on each side). The bumber is heavy get someone else to help before sliding it out once bolt is removed. 3. Loosen the bonnet cable at the trumpet end and thread it out 4. Remove all the bolts holding the slam panel in place. It will be obvious where they are. There are 2 bolts that you cant get to without taking the bumper off first. 5. After resprayed may be an idea to spray some cavity wax on it for protection. You will probably need a few trim bits like 1. The white trim where the bonnet support clips into. A new one makes a lot of difference. The old one will probably be yellowed up. 2. Be carefull removing the three black trims held on by rivets so that you can reuse them. The centre one is no available from the dealers. The ones on either side of this is still available. Optional. Maybe an idea to powder coat the Radiator L brakets aswell or check the condition of the metal bits of the bumber whilst its off or have it resprayed aswell?? clean out the headlight unit trim.

National Day 2012: Sunday 20 May: Brooklands

Here are a few more pic from my collection...I also took a few of the classic breakfast vintage bike/car club display that was held next door and a few photos of the other interesting displays in Brooklands...e.g Concorde. Not often you get to stand below it. Those vintage bikes were really loud when they were ridding up that hill climb at full throttle also spot the raised tail happy corrado in the pic. Looks like its doing 55mph stationary :) -
Nice new bonnet waffles :) Nice talking to you at the GB National. We were the first two corrado there. Hers a pic to prove it :)
-
Do you know if they did the matrix change the dash out method or not ???
-
I get 10 percent from my localvw dealrship. I did get annoyed when I had to buy a bag of 15 blue badge lug once when I only needed 4.
-
If you could get TPS parts at trade prices we could buy the stuff from you instead if you could offer some further discount?? :)
-
Very clean !! Is it just me but sometimes I do prefer a bit of dirt on the Corrado for that used look :)
-
In that case you get it from TPS and just say you are from the trade ????
-
SKF brand...I see that you are from Wrexham...there is a TPS near chester..will be cheaper than getting from VW dealership.

Sorry bud no PM from you. I have just checked my inbox so not sure if its working properly. If you try again as a test that would be great. Iam sure we can sort out a corrado meet at some point as I have seen a few corrados flying about in this part of town. -

Will there be a meet up on saturday before the big day in the weybridge area ??? -
Does that foam offer some heat protection for the bonnet aswell?
-
Parts are generally cheaper at carpartsforless but they dont sell any detailing/Cleaning stuff that I wanted.
-
Guys not sure if you are aware...Eurocarparts offering 30% off selected parts using code Holiday30 Think it end tomorrow midday. Dont want any one to misss out in these hard economic times. I just purchased some Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit normally £25.99 for £18.19p delivered (saving of £7.80) to remove some fence paint on my car done by a builder a while back.
-
You can give it a go to see if they will accept the one you have taken off. If you havent got one for exchange then there is a 20 pound surcharge on top of the £65. or if you could source another second hand one cheapely you can also take it to them as exchange at a later date. Thats what I have done before (a few months ago) also euro car part is doing calipers. They are offering 30percent off using discount code Holiday30. You just way up the options. Maybe best to try the VW dealers first if you have one local to you.
-
Have you thought about getting a new one from VW dealer on an exchange basis. Think it was only 65 pounds all in each. ( No messing about with an old one having to sandblast, caliper paint renewing bleed nipples, piston seals etc etc)

Must be the month of fitting new exhaust systems..This is the 2nd or 3rd post I ve seen about corrado receiving new exhaust systems. Hope it all goes well. I have yet to fit mine too :)
