If you are concerned about the quality of the one you have I would take it back to GSF and swap it for a Valeo one. The Valeo one will also comes with all the gaskets including the bulkhead gasket and it was very good in quality. You dont want to be redoing the heater matrix a few months down the line due to a poor quality one. When I bought mine I went to my local GSF and insisted that it was a Valeo branded one. If you are a corrado GB member you will also get 10 percent discount when you show them your membership card.

Spotted two today. First On the M25 near heathrow junction cant rember reg. It was a dark colour VR6 with twin round exhaust. Second one just on the thorpe Park round about in Chertsey reg ***NFL???. Think it was a green VR6 Storm. Looked really clean.

The TPS I go to will sell to everyone but I only get 8 percent discount. My local VAG dealer gives me 10 percent. How much of a discount are you guys getting from TPS?? Are you getting trade prices on the parts you purchase?

I was in Bridgend today near Ewenny Road stopped at the traffic lights. On the otherside of the road saw a Blackberry VR6 reg M383*** giving it a nice induction roar :)

Dont think there is a quide as such. If you get stuck on a trim removal just ask. My advice is to take loads of digital pictures of where each screws go as a reminder when you need to put everything back again. You might aswell give the carpet a wash once they are out. Dont rule out that leaks could be coming from perish door membrane too.

If you are looking for a new brake compensator for your VR6. Eurocar parts is selling an OEM ATE branded one for 69.30 delivered using discount code brake25. They normally retail for 92.40. So its a bargain if you need this part. -
Think the plastic drain plug is on the crack pipe itself. But personaly I would still drain from the bottom rad hose as I dont want to weaken the plastic crack pipe structure.

Nice write up...will come in handy as mine creakes too

Will be a lot easier putting a wanted ad up for a working second hand alternator.

Hi Neil a bit off topic. Just wondering are you able to offer mainstream VW stuff at a discounted price too.

There are a 3 relays there. I had the same issue could not get them out at first as I was being very careful. Then I wriggled them about and used a bit of force and the relay seem to unclip from the plastic lug that was holding it in really tight. I had a thread on this http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55540-cable-around-the-fan-arm

Cant believe your selling up after doing all that recent work to your corrado.

Guys...My Classic car policy does not allow me to drive to and from work which is fine for me as the corrado is my second car. Is this the same for everyone else that is on Classic car policies.

Saw two today... one whilst I was driving at 11.30am on the A55 it was heading towards Colwyn Bay and another whislt I was cycling in Menai Bridge at 4.00pm...Black corrado ending with reg ***YKA

I manage to do it without the dash out method. The hardest bit will be taking the glove box out. Dont forget to take lots of digital pics to remind you how to put things back and where each screw goes. I never figured out why the two screws in the centre storage area (below the ashtray)were so damn tight. I just left those screws well alone !!!

Water Light Flashing after Expansion tank change on my VR6.
VWVW replied to axcel01uk's topic in Engine Bay
Draining from the radiator bottom hose is just better at getting rid of all the old coolant. Could be a faulty expansion tank that you have? Could you not just plug the old expansion tank back to see if the light still flashes etc. -

Did you manage to get the connectors wet when you were changing the coolant. Maybe it just need time to dry out. -
The way I understand it is that if its on retention. It means the plate is officially off his car and is ready to be assigned to another car. You only pay the cost of the plate and also the admin fee of 25 pounds and thats it. The plate will be yours forever until you decide to sell it. If after purchasing the plate and you dont assign it to your car you have to continue paying the retention fee (Not sure exactly how much. Should be on the DVLA website)
