  1. That picture showing the hacksaw at work on the glove box was out of pure frustration as it was a nightmare to take out in the first place and a nightmare to put back in with that plastic protruding grid. I had to carry out emergency "surgery" on it.
  2. Car is parked up on a slight incline with the front end of the car pointing down towards the hill. A few days ago...I went to the car to finish off putting back my newly cleaned carpet into the car. I noticed there was a slight wet patch on the front driver side foot well area. I did some investigation and took driver side door panel off and found the membrane seal around the speaker area was not sealed properly and had allowed rain water to get in. See pic with red circle. This is the first time I have taken the door panel off and it must have had this leak ever since I bought the car and have not noticed it due to the corrado mat over the carpet and the leak was only slightly. I have re-stretched the membrane back to where it should be making contact with the black mastic sealant and sealed any long rips with duck tape. With the footwell area all dried again. I waited for heavy rain…checked the carpets again this morning and the carpet remained dry. Also not sure if anyone else have noticed. If you park your car on an incline with your front end of the car pointing down towards the hill. A lot of water collects inside the door frame. My drainage holes are all fine and clear. It just that water seems to collects in the furthers corners inside the door. When you open the car door after a heavy downpour. Loads of water will come out from one corner of the drainage point if you swing your car door in the opening and closing motion. Just a though for anyone that leaves their car in this incline position for long period of time. You may have to periodically open your car door just to drain excess water away.
  3. Took the plunge and cleanedd the interior carpet as it was looking a bit dirty. See before and after pics. Did not involve a lot of expense for once. It was just labour intensive!!! Well happy with the results. I started to use the pressure washer at first but it seemed it was too harsh for the carpet even from a distance so decided to do it all by hand instead using an alloy wheel brush, a 1001 carpet cleaner from Home Bargains for 99p and any stubborn stains was easily removed using Autoglym intensive tar remover. All the interior trim also had a good clean and scrub down and they are now spotless. Took loads of pictures on the way of all the trims I have taken out and where all the screws came from as reminder when it came to putting everything back in again. Carpet took about 2 days to dry in the open.
  4. Spotted one ! Chertesy town in surrey near the boat house hotel with the reg HI WOT
  5. Spotted two today...Green corrado storm just before chertsey train station midday and a red corrado along the M40 motorway southbound on the fast lane with crystal front and crystal rear lights.
  6. Loving that engine bay shot with the sunset in the background
  7. Hi Tim...responded to your pm regarding rear beam. Will be in Bristol tomorrow after work so not too far away from bath.
  8. Code CRAZY25 allegedly gets 25% off ALL CAR PARTS . Cheers for that...
  9. Thinking of getting a few bits from Euro Car parts - anymore valid discount codes flying about :)
  10. whilst were on the subject of alloys...does any one know if the solitude alloys that are found on the Golf VR6 highline models are they the same as those found on the corrado storm ?
  11. Depending on condition interested in the following. Any chance you could get us some pics. cheers 1. rear subframe 2. front wishbones 3. front hub housing
  12. Just get it stuck on for now and worry about it next year :)
  13. From memory I dont think there is any pin for the red plug. Think the red plug is only for models that had air bags...not 100 perecnt sure Iam sure others can confirm etc The BA style is for the later corrado year 1995 If your abs light is staying lit it may be a sensor at fault at the wheels? You could take it into a garage that has VAG com to determine which sensor is causing the abs light to stay lit.
  14. Cheers for the reply...Gave this another go still struggling with it. I did manage to get the spanner around the nut but there is no space to turn it with the gear leaver in the way. Probably will need a very small 10mm spanner for this.
  15. I need to take my carpet out for a spot of cleaning. This is the only trim still holding the carpet in. The two brass nuts holding the black port plug in place. I cant seem to get my spanner into the brass nut thats on the left hand side as its very restricted. The black port plug seems to be held very tight with limited movement. How do you go about releasing the nut ??? Anyone done this part of the trim removal before. Thought I will check before I break anything :) cheers
  16. Good find...maybe we can get a group buy going and get some discount on this.
  17. That shrick looks lovely in the engine bay...with the increase torque makes driving the corrado effortless. Not sure if you notice any rubbing on the shrick manifold with your bonnet when closed. I think it tend to rub at the left hand corner of the shrick manifold (the corner nearest the air filter side) Notice you are missing the black engine cover that goes over the coil pack. Will make it look even neater. See the link below website for pic. The website also tells you all about the technical details of the schrick manifold. Makes interesting reading http://www.jonathanwillits.supanet.com/schrick.htm
  18. Cheers chaps for the response...sounds like its gonna be a bit of a challenge. Maybe its better for me to source a second hand rear beam and build it up with all new components before taking it to a garage to fit it in for me ? I ve already got myself a full set of brake hard lines and full set of goodrich flexi hoses. If I was going to replace all these I guess the brake system will have to be bled completely dry of brake fluid and fresh brake fluid will be added to the system??? Is this the way to do it or do you retain the old fluid as much as you can and flush out with the new brake fluid to stop introduction of air ???
  19. Hi Peeps Could anyone offer some advice as to how to remove the rear axle on a Corrado VR6 1. Does any of the hard brake lines need to be cut first ? etc cheers
  20. Here you go mate...I took a picture of mine for reference before I replaced mine cos I knew I would forget :)
  21. Wanted rear axle for late corrado VR6... The plan is to get this sandblasted and powder coated and have it rebuilt with new components. Still needs to be in reasonable condition to start with . Show me what you have and let me know on a price etc and where the item is based. Im based in LL postcode area but I travel around the country alot so I may be able to collect etc cheers
  22. VWVW

    wheel bearings

See if you have a TPS branch near you who supply the VW dealeship and is OEM stuff. Sometimes they will sell to the public it varies from branch to branch. Just ask for a cash sale. If you buy from the dealer its 26.12+VAT each. However if you can get it from TPS its 18.28+VAT each. However when you buy from TPS it comes with other bits as part of a complete repair kit whereas I think if you buy from the dealer the price is just for the bearings.
  23. Thanks for the pic and the part number...That passat wiper motor cover looks great looks like a nice snug fit... Good price too!! Will stop water getting all over wiper motor when I open the front bonnet when wet.
