  1. Sorry with you now , yep i went and got a more expensive ratchet with the little ball bearings in the heads .
  2. I have the spark plug socket in my tool kit , with one extension , because of the rubber grommet thingy in the end it grips the plug . Have a look at removal tool only on fleabay .
  3. I bought the lead removal tool on its own from ebay , works fine , just had to close the end up a bit tighter as the plug can sometimes slide up when pushing them on . This one should be fine too .
  4. If theres no power to a new coil then that rules out the hall sender . I would now go from the coil backwards ,looking for problems , as it seems theres no power getting to the new coil , so there must be something amiss from the connection into the coil Rob
  5. Hi mate , sorry to hear it's still not starting . If you take the centre lead off the dizzy , would you not see a spark from the end , when cranking ? , the only thing I can think of now is the hall sender . Rob
  6. I dont know much about using multi meters ,sorry mate . But it does sound like a dodgy coil , again i cant be sure . Have you got home start on your aa policy ?. They were brilliant with me , they will check it all and would tell you if the coil was not working . I know ive said it before ,but the great Chris RW1 would have solved this for you . Rob

  8. Im fresh out of ideas now dude . I have just read the thread again , i think you have everything you need for a spark . The only thing i can suggest is starting at the begining again . Check the battery , then onto the coil . If you have replaced the coil lead and the dizzy that should be fine .No damage to any leads ? , although that would only strike off the spark to its corresponding plug i suppose .Wish i could be more help .   10. It seems to be that time of the year doesn't it ! Mines a k reg and I've had problems recently , you seemed to have covered everything though . If it is the crank sensor I have one in working order should you need one . Rob

  13. If you are having problems , it may be best to send a pm to the mods , as I'm sure they don't read every single post that comes up , not having a dig , hopefully it will get resolved soon .

  17. Depends what year your Vr is . Early stuff started to change in 93 . If you look at say , the headlights for example they are set back further than later models .
  18. Thought i would up date this , the car has started everytime since it broke down , it may have been the morrisons fuel issue as i have been using their fuel , hopefully the redex has helped . The new ht leads went on ,on friday night , ive been driving it all day ,with no issues . Lets hope it stays that way ! Rob
  19. I use maguires detail spray after i have washed the car now , i used to polish and wax all the time .
