WANTED: Window Scraper Driver Side. REWARDS AVAILABLE!
robrado974 replied to EJ Taylor's topic in Wanted
Where were these from mr mass ? , thanks Rob -
Welcome to the squeaky club, I have the same as a lot of us on here . The usual suspects are , tailgate, these are designed to move with the car for flexibility so they can creak . Parcel shelf, try a bit of vasalene on the straps . The speaker pod bolts may need a tweak. Also the plastic covers on the door cards are prone to squeaking , also check spare tyre is seated properly and tool kit . A small amount of double sided tape or foam under plastics works as well . Oh and have a look at rear boot plastics , the list is endless really . Rob .

I saw this today on the beautiful sleek design that can only be a rover . When i saw where spectacular badges were positioned i thought wow ! theres an idea ,what would the rado look like with the badges on the arch . So if anyone can do a photo shop for me to see what it would look like i would be gratefull . Thanks Rob .

Can I use this fuel pump on the Corrado VR6? (Pierburg)
robrado974 replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Being sorted while I'm on holiday , my friendly mechanic is doing it for me . I didn't want fuel evaporating away for a week while I'm away . I've had to plug the hole while I'm waiting for pump to arrive . Easy fix with the right pump though . -

As Jon says , locate the whole , turn clockwise and you will lock it in place . The above info I gave to you was courtesy of Jon , who kindly relayed it to me . Great forum , without the info we all put in where would we be ? So credit to Jon .Oh and be careful with the sender arm when fitting . -
garage put extended wheel nuts through my wheel bearing ?
robrado974 replied to ross k's topic in Drivetrain
Agree totally with above comments , if that was me , I would be back there , explain about your holiday and that you need it sorting there and then . Not when they want to do it . Yes they made a mistake , but that's not your problem it's there's to sort out ASAP . -

The casing is how the new ones come , the new one I bought is exactly the same . The top of my original is white not black , so maybe they have replaced that as well , give Them a shout and check for fitting but it should be fine .as said it would have a new sender , as the original one won't fit the new version . -

That looks like the new Bosch pump . You should be ok as it has the sender attached . -

I don't know if they were better , but I would have thought it would fit , yes . I am awaiting a second hand pump ATM , so I can hopefully resolve my fuel issues . -

Early vr's had piers burg pumps , they changed around 93 I think , to vdo , so if you have a shot old pump like mine and you buy the new Bosch one , the sender will not fit . -
Simply awesome ! Beautiful car .

Not sure if I could get away with that ! -
I was Changing over the fuel pump tonight , followed the instructions . When it came to fitting the sender , it was clear mine was not going to fit on the new unit . I bought it from carparts for less . They said the Bosch pump was a replacement for the original . Anyone who has fitted one will know the fuel pipes are very tight to fit , so I then had to remove them from the top original part to separate them from the new part . Even thoughi was careful as it came off my top part , it also broke the new one where the pipe fits in ! . Great I thought not only is it wrong , now I've busted it . £120 down I decided to call it a night , not a happy bunny . This happens to me all the time when ordering parts , when I get them they are wrong , I serviced the Vr a while back . Obviously I ordered a dizzy for a Vr and spark plugs , also temp senders . Two of the senders were wrong , I got 4 plugs and a dizzy for a for pot ! . Going for a second hand pump off eBay now with 3 months warranty I can't afford £240 on one from Vw . Yours very grumpy Rob
