  1. I know you will miss Stormy ,Rog . Hope to see you back sometime in the future.
  2. Bummer news about the chip , I hate it when you spend hours on your car and achieve nothing , let alone dent it . At least you can get it sorted.
  3. Toothbrush? Lol . I used a clean cloth with meths on it and didn't go mad , I just gently rubbed the leather . I used a cotton wool ball rapped in linin cloth . The dye was applied in little round circles . Obviously the more costs you apply, the easier it gets as they are not so dry .,
  4. Very nice ! . Looking forward to progress reports.
  5. Hi mate , I've just done the first two coats and the first seat looks amazing . I didn't see the point in using the leather cleaner , as meths will clean and de grease in one and it's only a low solvent based product , so no damage is caused to the leather .
  6. Small update . I received my bottle of leather repair paint from Gliptone today . I've done a couple of test patches and all looks great . I'm looking forward to cleaning and preparing the seats for paint and getting them finished . Hopefully this week I will get the carpet looked at by a professional fitter , I've got so far but getting it right is proving difficult. I can't wait to get the interior back in . I'm also saving for tyres , I need all four , to get it through the mot , which ran out on Saturday.
  7. Last time I looked , you were about the same height as me Sean , how can you see them approaching the car ? Lol , (said in jest) . I don't usually go for anything too shiny, engine bay etc ,but I like the steel against the black tank .
  8. You calling my car bling Sean ? Lol . Those refreshed parts look lovely. The only problem I had with the rear beam , was a little to much powder coating . When it came to fitting parts , things got a little tight .
  9. Great pics ! . Chris the G is looking lovely as is Eric's scirocco.
  10. I'm sad you won't have it anymore , but needs must I suppose.
  11. Have to agree with the above . Finding a car that ticks all the right boxes locally is a hard task . This is a nice car .
  12. I think the lines of the car look cleaner without them . But I think I will be putting them back on in the future , sometime.
  13. Lol . I might even fit the bump strips back on too .
  14. Thanks for the replies, I will look into this soon . Many thanks Rob
  15. Yep , your right mate , they do differ . If I get no joy in removing the paint I will be keeping a look out .
  16. Thanks Sean . I may well give it s go . I'm a little concerned it could turn out messy though and I end up with nasty looking handles . Looking at the bay , you wouldn't have thought handles would be that expensive, not exactly a rare item .
  17. Evening chaps, Does anyone know if it's possible to remove paint from my door handles ? . They were painted when the car was resprayed . Six years on and I want to go back to black oem. I only ask as looking at the prices on flea bay , they ain't cheap . Thanks Rob
  18. Welcome back to ownership. Looks like a lovely example you have there .
  19. Do you have the link to the dye ? I found some on flea bay , but not the glyptone stuff.
