As Jim says . I know it's not the same as a rebuild , but they can be noisy when left for long periods . I did major work to the body and other bits , it was not started for around six months . She fired straight away but the noise was awful , it was so bad I turned it off . I started again and it was still bad , I then drove gently for half a mile , it was still bad . We checked the oil once it had cooled and it was fine . I then started it again and it was dead quiet.

Not really Dox . If you get it where you want it with or without a weight , the next curve or lump you come to is hard to get right . If it was very thin , then you could manipulate it to sit in nice , but it has to be thick to be hard wearing obviously . Having said that I'm very happy with with where I'm up to at the moment . I think a lot of it is worrying over it , once you put some plastics in place it looks great and you can see it's all in the right place .

Hi Hasan . I've got it in place the best I can . I've not glued any of it , or cut the joins . I've put the hand break covers back on and the gear gator plastics . Just to check I can screw and bolt them in place before any gluing or cutting . Once I'm happy I will start to fit it properly . It's one of those jobs , you have to get on with it , a bit scary but you have to go for it .im going to fit the drivers seat back in and stop for today . Quit while your ahead as they say .

I must have laid the rear carpet in place ten times already lol. The problem is , there are so many lumps and bumps for it to sit on , it's hard to be happy with it . Get one section right , it pulls on another . I dare not glue it ! . I'm going to try and lay it the best I can get it and see how the plastics sit . It's like being at work , trying to plug a membrane to a wall that's all over the place , your trying to manipulate a material which is not very forgiving .

There is a guide in the search for the best oil , it depends on mileage etc . As for the plugs I don't think you can go wrong with NGK ,I've used them on every service I've done on my car . Or TPS plugs , I can't remember which ones they sell , but they will be excellent quality .

Ah , long shot . I was in the T4 , coming home from work yesterday and a flash red was heading towards me and I was thinking , where did that come from ? . We live in a relatively small area .

As Jim says . This happened to me when the rear calipers were fitted .The hand break was adjusted from inside , the connections must have been knocked around .

I did chuckle a bit , but we've all done stupid things on our cars , in our time . Last week I was in a rush and ended up refitting my rear wheels in the dark and the wrong way round . It was pointed out to me at a little meet we were having . I felt a right plum !.

Just take the plugs out of the backs of the lights , then remove the three nuts from the cluster studs . They will then pop off from the body .

No worries , just saw it and thought I'd tell you , you will get more chance of someone seeing it there .

Hi mate , if you type in 'membrane ' in the search it has some really good pics . I think it was Chris L or Darren , who put them up ? Not sure , but it's there anyway . I can't stress enough about the underlay getting wet . This type of material will stay wet for ever if left unchecked .

As above please . Ive got some , its more the ones for the rear . Where the front part of the seat base sits, there is a ridge , which has holes for the popper type lug . Thanks chaps .
