  1. That's not a bad shout actually - sort of forgot about the Chris Gaskell / Vulcan link!

    Hello all

Welcome aboard :) Got more details on the car? Colour, spec, etc etc?
  3. Wish I'd gone to see them - amazing sight! Thought I'd share this video I found earlier of the two Lancasters (along with the Spitfire and Hurricane) at Eastbourne earlier in the week.. thought it was quite nicely shot, from a good location, and if you have good speakers or headphones really captures the rumble of the engines that most videos don't. Brings a tear to you eye - such a sight!

  5. WTF - that car can't have done more than 5,000 miles since the engine was put in! Like you say James, clearly the thing is bloody cursed!! I guess with all the wiring, etc done for the 24v conversion, it can't be 'much' more effort to replace that with an R32 lump now?
  6. I have to agree. At the end of the day the Corrado was a comparatively low volume car, and now with so few left on the road here in the UK, producing / selling parts for them is a potential gamble for anyone. Personally I'm grateful that folks like Heritage have taken it on here in the UK, given that VW dealers themselves have feck all interest it seems. Think about the time taken for one order, in terms of processing the order, verifying payment, packing it, etc - then think what (at the very minimum) hourly wage is, plus all other associated costs along the way.
  7. Will try check on the parts catalogue tonight and get back to you..
  8. To be honest I don't think there will ever be another thread like it. Was completely ridiculous.
  9. Well one is a cheap eBay kit, and the other is a drive in / drive out fully fitted solution! Not exactly comparable!
  10. I've not driven a standard VR for years - should finally get a chance behind the wheel this weekend. Will be interesting to compare how it feels against my VR which has 263's and a remap!
  11. Piece of ****. Remove the passenger side under tray, disconnect the power connector (and then remove the resistor pack as you'll need to transfer that over) then reach round the back of the fan for the latch to undo it, twist and drop it out and insert the replacement. 15 minute job max.
  12. Post moved to a new thread in Engine Bay.
  13. Really? It always used to be on there.. the label on the rear opens up and has a load of information on it, including what percentage ratio of coolant to water to use depending on the climate / conditions you live it. I'm really surprised they've dumped that.
  14. That's commitment. Look forward to seeing more updates on this (as and when time permits!) :)
  15. Shiny :) You thought about getting a dent guy out to look at that drivers door? They look like nice big dents which should be relatively easy to pop out, and they normally charge by the panel so might not cost a lot and they might be able to do quite a lot with it!
  16. The instructions on mix ratio's are on the bottle!
  17. Mine came pretty quickly.. it's now sitting under my desk at work.. just debating when I can face ripping my interior to pieces :|
  18. This is an analogy that's been used in Top Gear before, so I apologise for pilfering it but it's especially true of the VR Turbo.. it's not that it's fast which is so shocking, but it's the surprise of the performance. When you're used to how a Corrado VR6 performs and feels, the first time you get behind the wheel of a VR6 turbo and put your foot down it's like everything you know about how the cars personality goes out of the window. You're in a Corrado, those same seats, that same steering wheel and instrumentation - except it's going like it's just been launched by a steam catapult from the deck of an aircraft carrier! You're simply not prepared for it. I think that, more than the performance stats themselves, is what makes it such an experience. I never got any body try it on with me on the afternoon I had the Stealth VR turbo 'demo car' but I won't easily forget how shocked I was when I came onto an A road slip road, and put my foot down... the acceleration was utterly insane.
  19. Hello mate - I've had a message from a Corrado owner who doesn't use the forum who's very keen on some of your brake lines. Would you be happy to chat with him on the phone? If so, could you PM me your number and I'll send it his way. Cheers.
  20. I got another second hand one (thanks VAG-hag!) which did the job - couldn't face the cost of a brand new VAG one at the time. Avoid the Q-Drive ones - utter ****e. Brand new in the box and groaning like a 30 year old PAS pump and heavy steering.. utter crap!
  21. Some info in this thread about fitting a VR rack to a 1.8 16v.. I presume some elements of this are different on the 2.0 16v being a later car (most specifically the UJ spline) but I guess you'd need to change the rest.. so quite a bit of extra work sadly. http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=44727
  22. Saw that whilst in there the other day returning my Q-Drive PAS pump (no quibble, and £100 back in the bank.. bonus) - very appealing little gadget though some reviews say the cable snaps quite easily.. be interested to hear how you get on with it.
  23. 7D looks like some kind of Peugeot 306 Sedan or... possibly something even more awful like a Fiat Tempra or Croma?
  24. The one to the right of 2C in blue is easy - Renault 19!
