I gave up on Top Gear some time ago now - its finest days are, for me, well behind it. Have increasingly found myself turning to YouTube for getting my fix in interesting or technical car related programming!

Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road
Jim replied to Hofmiester's topic in Members Gallery
Ahh... ok.. that's probably better news. Harris's is a tiptronic. Manual is probably going to be a bit stronger! :) And probably won't be driven as hard, as often! -

Worth mentioning that Harris's S4 destroyed its gearbox only a couple of months after the remap! :( -

Bah - Google suggested they were more like 326BHP, hence why I went for the RS3 ;) Either way, very nice :) -

Audi RS3... -
I think it depends on my mood and various other things really (weather / temperature, etc) but I generally prefer dark ales - porters & stouts :)

After years of trying to keep up and have the latest phones on contract I've finally managed to get out of that habit. I've had a Nexus 4 now for well over a year (and it was already 'out of date' when I bought it, for little over £100) and it does everything still really well and flies. Only issue is with 8GB storage, it's a bit of a battle keeping some space free! I keep thinking about an upgrade but then I look at the cost of the handsets and think 'jesus!!' and forget about it again for a few months! :)

Spoken like a true 4 cylinder Corrado owner ;)
-
It's what every owner of a 4 cylinder Corrado aspires to. (now I'm going to run and hide) ;)
-
Nice choice, Kev :) Look forward to hearing how you get on with this one!

It's always nice to receive such complimentary feedback on this little community. As John says, you are indeed most welcome - it's always great to continue to get new Corrado owners onboard, trying to keep these great cars on the road.

It makes me quite sad really. I have quite a few friends in Scotland and relish every opportunity I get to go up there and visit them and soak up the hospitality and scenery when I'm there. I sort of feel that in some respects (and I don't mean this to be condescending to the Scots) that a lot of people have gotten swallowed up into this whole Yes vote because of dislike for the English and English politicians rather than because of any real insight or belief in the financial aspects, that they will actually be better off. And I'm keen to stress that if we had the same situation in England, I'm quite convinced there would be a lot of English 'nationalists' who would be behaving exactly the same way so as I say, this isn't intended as a slight against the Scottish. I really hope for a No vote, but I hope then that Westminster devolve sufficient powers to Scotland for them to be satisfied with the union we have, rather than tearing it up. I completely understand why it enrages so many up there (I suppose in much the same way as a lot of Brits are so angry that so much of their country is controlled from offices in Brussels!) but in the same way it would seem a backwards step for us to leave the European Union, it seems such a backwards step to break up the British union.

Agreed. We need to know about the new car :) BMW 335i? ;)

1995 (M Reg) Corrado VR6 Breaking - Updated with Pictures
Jim replied to P3rks's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hi Steve.. it might be worth doing some more investigation on these. The issue may not be the heater controls themselves, but something else. What isn't working with them? -
Agreed. I think a fair price given the mileage and the fact it shouldn't have a single spot of rust. As has been said, when you leave Dubai, ship it home with you and sell it in Germany! Definitely get that checked out :)

Good work. This seems to be increasingly the way we need to go with VW steadily obsoleting things for our cars. I look forward to finding out how it is once fitted!
-
Can also check whether it's insured using the askmid website - as long as you know the number plate! :) http://www.askmid.com/

I just want to make clear I also PM'd to apologise to Steve - my gut instinct and knee-jerk reaction on this occasion was way off the mark!
-
I'll send you a PM..

Extremely disappointing outcome for this car. I hate to see cars being bought and immediately trying to sell them for a profit. I'll say it now - please don't bother trying to advertise the car again on here at the inflated price as I won't allow the advert on the forum.
-
Hmm.. not sure about some of these speeds! I know the VR will crack 100MPH in third but I didn't think it'd run as high as 115MPH.. Just wondering if you had incorrect sized alloys on the car which were causing the speedo to over-read?
-
Happy to give advice on the task but not sure I'll be in any hurry to do another!

Off-topic banter cleaned, thread bumped.
-
Agreed - just to reinforce this point, a fuel leak in the engine bay can easily result in a fire. Don't use the car until you can get this sorted.
