  1. Should be pretty obvious if its the sensors as the top of the housing / oil cooler will be wet with oil too. They are not mega expensive to replace though do require some serious contortion to access & replace them. I did one on my VR (the high pressure one) which thankfully was the one leaking. The low pressure one was just out of reach so remains untouched for now :)
  2. Genuine ones were, I believe, in the region of 250 quid!
  3. I have noticed this on another Corrado in the past. After discussing with friends we came to the conclusion that it was a late car which had an early wing fitted. Because of the wide track suspension it means on the side with the early wing fitted the wheel appears to poke out of the arch!
  4. Hmmmm... I'm 50/50. Need to see them with tyres on and the car dropped onto its wheels to make up my mind. Have a vague feeling a PVW staffer ran a Corrado on those wheels some years back and they looked pretty good.
  5. Thread reinstated and a bump to make it easier to find!
  6. A turbo is fantastic on the Corrado - the problem is just the price relative to the value of the car. I can live with bills of up to several thousand pounds I guess but once you're into £6000+ plus any upgrades to the chassis brakes, etc (which would easily stick another £1000-£2000) you've got to be SERIOUSLY committed to and besotted by the Corrado. I couldn't do it - I would definitely buy something else for that kind of money that has the power "out of the box". Yes it may be more common on the roads, but honestly I couldn't care - honestly I do love a Q car (and I'm sure a 400BHP Corrado would show a lot of fast cars a clean pair of heels), but not enough to spend that much money on it. There's an element of wanting to be individual and to not follow the crowd (I'm sure why some of us still drive a Corrado), but then how much do you want to spend being an individual. Sometimes it's nice to just say "**** it" and just buy something more generic. An M3 or an RS4 is still going to be pretty special, and uncommon, and still generally get some respect from petrol heads.
  7. Was going to say it sounds like some kind of air leak!
  8. Saw a black J reg Corrado G60 whizz past me right near Cannon Park / Warwick University this morning right around 8am.
  9. I drove Pete Griff's M5 several times, and it certainly felt 400BHP fast to me! I admit I haven't owned any properly fast cars, but I have certainly driven a fair few now (combinations of friends cars, and on various track experiences) and the M5 felt about as quick as I expected it to. It was stunning! :)
  10. Hmm.. I don't think it's an automatic thing (payment means you automatically become a CF Donator) and requires manual intervention. I'll go take a look at your account! *edit* It looks like it should be automated. I'll speak to Andi!
  11. Easy to be lured by one of the brutal Mercs.. those C/E63's sound absolutely spectacular. I guess my only worry would be the repair costs if something broke. I think like how Audi have the (in)famous RS tax, I should imagine any of the big AMG Mercs have the ability to bankrupt you pretty swiftly if something goes wrong. I guess if you have an "in case of emergency" budget though, I'd say f@ck it and get it bought! I can't imagine you'd ever get bored of the noise coming out of the exhausts of one of those things :)
  12. For the Corrado to even be mentioned in the same article as the E30 M3 is extremely flattering. They demand serious money. We can only hope to be so lucky with the values of our Corrado's.
  13. Stealth Racing (Southam), or DG Autotech (Kidderminster) mate! :)

It can be a real lottery - all you can do is ring around unfortunately!
  15. You can get these under 16" alloys I believe :) Definitely won't go under 15's.

I do agree with Ben that this probably has gone as far as it should. I don't think he deliberately intended to mislead anyone and to be honest given that no money had even changed hands or anything, I don't especially feel he did anything wrong. Guys if you want to dispute things, I think it's probably better to do it over PM. If something has actually happened however regarding items being paid for then not received then I think it's fair to air it on the forum. Thanks.
  17. My understanding of what was said, is that there shouldn't be a large mark-up - and if you spot one, to bring it to her attention, so she can investigate why? Presumably Anna is not singlehandedly responsible for pricing every single item, so mistakes and misprices are bound to slip through the net. And honestly James, it's not mud slinging. It's just having a different viewpoint to yours. I did not feel the criticism levelled at Heritage was fair - simple as, and I expressed my point of view. As we're all entitled to. I did not single you out either - my response was a general response to all the folks making observations about the pricing. But honestly if you feel I'm wrong in what I said, then I'm happy to talk about it with you - just drop me a PM. For whatever reason we continue to clash on here - personally I'd much rather prefer that our coexistence on the forum was more amicable than it is now.
  18. It may be worth checking on the Classic Parts website directly as they do often photograph the actual stock they have in their warehouse (rather than use a 'library picture') - you may be able to ascertain whether it's the closed or open slat variant of the grille. Actually I've just taken a look (see attached picture) and it does seem to be the open slat variant :)
  19. Have to agree Eric - felt some of the comments seemed harsh and unfair to me. I never got anything other than positive vibes from what VW Heritage are trying to do here, and as you rightly point out they are a business - not a charity. As a community we're going to do ourselves no favours every time we try and get a company onboard to produce / resell VW Corrado parts, only to treat them this way. We have to remember the Corrado is a comparatively niche car, and there are limited (and steadily decreasing) numbers on our roads - companies aren't exactly going to be jumping up and down to offer parts for the Corrado, and if they do, they're always going to be pricier than for other models produced in larger volumes. Honestly I think we should be thankful that Heritage are even interested in acting as agents for Classic Parts here in the UK, given that the VW dealer networks seem to have no interest.

Another forum I use has a 'heroes and villains' section for feedback on sales, which means that you can search a bit more easily (a new thread is posted for positive / negative feedback for a user each time, meaning you just search that whole subforum for the persons username in the subject). I'd assume that the sale system Andi is looking at might have some kind of feedback / reputation system though so probably worth us seeing how that works before we look at making any other changes.

Indeed - that can be very awkward / difficult, but I think you would have been within your rights to kick up more of a stink in terms of action against the other forum member. I certainly don't remember the incident, nor the forum member involved if I'm honest.
  22. I recently replaced my radiator on the VR and also went to replace all the cowling, etc. Most bits available still including the big plastic fan guides, bolts etc but the cowling itself was not only expensive at about 90 quid but went on back order. I cancelled the order after about 10 days waiting. I would suggest finding a good 2nd hand one and getting it powder coated instead..
