As Tempest says, don't drive the car until you have replaced this leaking hose - all it takes is hot fuel to drip onto the exhaust manifold and your engine will go up like a firework display. I can't stress this enough.

I'm trying to remember back to when I did mine - it was quite a few years ago, but I'm quite sure it's possible just to remove the manifold leaving the fuel lines / injectors in place - but of course being careful not to bend the lines. It helps that the fuel lines are rubber / flexi closer down to the metering head giving you a little bit of movement. It did take a bit of wiggling to seperate the lower & upper parts though. I know I never pulled the injectors / disconnected fuel lines on mine till I fitted a refurbished upper & lower inlet manifold so must have done the flange job without pulling them!

It's not too difficult to do at all - but definitely make sure you've got new intake manifold gaskets! I had to replace the same flange on my valver, and the endless water leaking had soaked into the gasket making it very fragile - which tore when I took it off. Also make sure you're armed with something to dissolve calcium deposits for the mating face on the front of the block as it can get a bit crusty around there, and maybe even some liquid metal to fill in any pitting which can also occur if the flange has been leaking for ages.

I think they call it Mulberry in the USA :)

That's Blackberry Metallic.. without doubt :)

Potential bargain for someone there - pretty much a grands worth of interior alone! Rare to see such a well optioned 16v as well.. shame it'll probably end up getting broken for parts :(

Have to say - that first picture is absolutely awesome. Just shows the lines of the Corrado so well, the car is immaculate, and just sits perfectly on those wheels. Absolutely superb.

Are you certain that there's no sensors or anything in that area which could be not quite correctly fitted or is it literally metal on metal? I guess it's entirely possible that it's the head gasket that's failing - but whilst I'm not a mechanic, I'm not sure I've ever heard of the coolant leaking outside of the block in this way. Did the car overheat when the coolant hose burst..? Just wondering if you warped the head slightly or something.. :|

It never fails to surprise me at how terrible some people are at writing adverts. No information on service history, origins of the turbo conversion, any major work that's been done.. honestly, I'm sorry if the owner posts on here but get a f@cking grip man.

I certainly like the new Focus ST. Liked the previous generation one too with the 5 cylinder motor too but fuel economy was supposed to be woeful on those :(

I had some Michelin Alpin A4's on the Octavia last year and they were very good. Once you get over the realisation that the grip is nothing like what you expect it to be (I somehow stupidly assumed it'd be like driving on tarmac) you'll find you can pretty much go anywhere. Most impressive wasn't the traction on fresh snow but the packed snow and even sheet ice... I spent many hours last winter finding the most horrendous, sheet ice covered side roads and back country lanes I could and never even remotely came close to getting stuck - it was a revelation.

Hehe.. I'm sure that's enough to catch a few people out. Presumably remapped if it's putting out that much torque?

I'd probably stick them on the car around the start of November - that's when it generally seems to start turning grim! Really want a set of winter rubber for the VR this year but have a lot of expenses coming up potentially.. hmm... 195/50's are cheap enough though at places like MyTyres (can pretty much get a set for about £210).

I bought a similar device to that from Halfords some years ago to do the plugs on my 2.0 16v - literally the first time I used it, on the very first plug, the spark plug was in so tight the tool simply bent out of shape as it was made of such soft metal. Total waste of money. Get a proper spark plug socket for your socket set.

Depends how far you have your seats tilted.. if you have the seat fairly far raised up, you could stick it under one of them? To be honest the Corrado cabin isn't exactly spacious enough for that sort of thing though - if the boot was out of the picture, I don't reckon I'd bother at all.
-
That's certainly some good distance on a Corrado - good work :) And well done for managing to get the picture.. always hard to capture those milestone moments!!

Not entirely.. Golf R is 4WD.. Scirocco R isn't.. :(

Ah - that explains the front looking nicely spaced :) -

I think the RH's look good but think they need spacing out a smidge at the rear - they're too tucked into the arches if that makes sense? But then not sure if you'd have problems with them rubbing :( Car looks triffic though :)
