  1. I'm going to lay a bet that this is the classic built in immobiliser problem. It's been discussed on here many, many times... Example discussion on what needs doing in this thread and should hopefully be enough to get you started in doing some searching on everything you need to get it fixed :) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=55219
  2. Sounds like a steal at that price! I'd want to give it a good going over - full fluid change, and inspection of bushings, etc... would love to see some pictures of such a low miler!
  3. Yes - you're being daft :) Get in the car and drive it to the seaside.
  4. Shame - would have been a safe pair of hands for that pretty special Corrado :(
  5. Chris's Storm, presumably. Looks like it's been sold now, but not sure who to.
  6. It just goes to show there's no point ever selling a Corrado - cause you will be back. Again. And again :)
  7. Yeah - violence seems to be the only solution. It's a bizarre design really. Doesn't prohibit access to anything 'juicy' so can't understand why it's made that way?

    Oldie back...

Welcome back again Bally :) It's good to know you still have the Corrado. I was never a fan of crazy low Corrado's, but there was always something about your motor - cracking car :)
  9. Got mine through the post the other day - usual top quality standard from Dave. Thanks mate :)
  10. John Mitchell would be my first port of call based on everything I've read on here over the years :) Can't comment on the OCD guys as I don't know anyone who's been to them yet but they certainly look promising :)

    Hi all ...

    Welcome to the forum :)

    It's snowing

Exactly that mate - they were huge - wouldn't have gone on the Corrado, even if I'd got a set of 16" steels.

Damnit.. I hate this time of year. And I haven't even bought winter tyres this year either.. :|

    Rad Seal?

You sure it's the radiator leaking.. like 100% sure?
  15. They're pretty good fun - my sister has an 03 reg (so first generation new shape) and it's quite a good drive. Turn in is incredible - it makes my Corrado feel like a wobbly old trifle compared to the Mini! But the trade off is ridiculously hard / crashy suspension and not a very nice place to spend long periods of time!

Yeah I think given the work you've put into it you've got a good possibility of getting top end money for it.. I'd advertise it at 2,500-3,000 but with a comprehensive advert detailing all the work done. Alternatively breaking it for parts would probably net you a greater return, not that I'd advocate such a course of action!
  17. Sounds like locks have been changed at some point and the keys you have for the doors, don't match the lock you have for the boot. You can buy a new lock mechanism for the boot from Volkswagen still I believe and I don't think it's ludicrous money - and it's pretty easy to change too - and you will of course get a new lock and the key to go with it..
  18. Cheers James. It's a mixture of feelings for me - I was actually happy enough to put my car on the stand this year after the arch work to clear the rust.. the old girl polished up well, and I got a lot of positive compliments. But also frustrating that we couldn't fill the stand on the cars 25th birthday. Speaking to GlosterOx this weekend I did have to concede that he made a fair point about the commitment required for the show, and that perhaps my expectations of other peoples free time was unrealistic - a point I took onboard. The cars had to be in the hall first thing Thursday morning and we didn't get out of the show till about 6.30pm this evening. It's a lot of commitment - and I am fortunate I live very locally to the NEC (15 minute drive) and am only 10 minutes on the train to get there if needs be, and was able to take the time off work no problems. But honestly for folks who are proud of their car and want to show it off to enthusiasts, chat and help with Corrado queries, or just shoot the breeze about cars (and get three days free entry to a show which normally costs £27/day!!) there is honestly no finer show.
  19. We were in a good central spot (across the hall from the Wheeler Dealers live stage) and got lots of footfall on the stand :)
  20. What a fantastic weekend :) Very long / tiring of course but lost count of how many new and old faces I caught up with on the club stand, including folks who'd come from all over Europe (and even Canada) to talk to us about Corrado's. Really makes me appreciate that there's still a lot of interest and enthusiasm out there for these cars - from men and women of all ages. I barely left the club stand all weekend apart from snack / loo breaks, and to make my way to the Sporting Bears / Dream Rides hall this morning for a passenger ride in a Tesla Roadster - which was probably one of the most spectacular cars I've ever been in. Jaw dropping performance! Thanks to everyone who came by for a chat, and thank you to the folks who helped setting up / tearing down the club stand, and manning it over the course of the weekend - Rocket Ron, Tempest, Supercharged, and GlosterOx.
  21. My VR, Tempest's G60, and Rocket Ron's VR6 :)
  22. Will try and get a good pic tomorrow before it gets too busy :)
  23. Aiming to be there for about 9.30 :) See some of you tomorrow hopefully! We had a good day today - sold some merchandise and chatted to a fair few folks!
