  1. Saw a white, very clean, very low Corrado on the A47 heading towards Wisbech this evening about 8.30pm. Didn't flash or wave as it was dark and I wasn't in my corrado!
  2. Unless you need to reverse off a driveway in a morning - then not having the rear wiper is a pain in the jacksie! :)
  3. Always wanted a VMW VSR but simply refuse to pay that much money.. they're ridiculously overpriced these days. Besides, this was just a hypothetical question.. I was just curious to know. I'm not actively looking for a Schrick or anything at the minute..
  4. Nice find on the Q7 donor loom... presumably you've got the tool for punching the pins in and out so you can make it all nice and OE rather than cutting and then joining the donor plugs to your existing loom?
  5. And would cutting all that out mean you can change the spark plugs with the VGI in situ? Cause with that lot out of the way, it looks pretty much the same as the VSR...?
  6. Following on from one thread about Schrick VGI's and subsequently a link back to an older thread which put the various manifolds alongside each other.. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?13899-Visible-Differences-between-OE-SCHRICK-VW-VSR-manifolds I was just looking at the picture of the Schrick and thinking about how basically it looks the same as the VSR aside from the large load of extra metal across the middle. A picture of the underside seems to suggest that there isn't actually anything contained in this - it's just extra casting. Does anyone know if that's the case? So my question is... couldn't this lot simply be machined out / smoothed to give you a manifold which eliminates one of the only drawbacks of the Schrick?
  7. He's being all cagey and elusive about it for some reason.. it's not E38 you know Yan.. you won't get extra scene points by keeping it a big secret and going for the "big reveal" ;)
  8. Germans love airbrushing.. and the car was built by Haas Sporting Projects in Germany! It's just their way! :)
  9. I know it's not what you're asking.. but.. I don't see the point in getting the servicing done at VW for the sake of a VW stamp in the book vs a VW Specialists stamp - e.g. Stealth, DG Autotech.. to anyone with half a clue about these cars, a service at a specialist is worth far far more than letting some monkey at VW do the job - they're only going to give it to the YT kid anyway, as it's "just an old car" :|
  10. I'll be in the queue when you make one mate... my rad neck needs replacing!
  11. Waiting for an update on the spoiler mech too.... :)
  12. Saw THREE today and thankfully was driving mine so got a wave in for one of them! Thankfully was out in the Corrado and not the daily! * Red Corrado on BBS's heading out of Leamington on the A452 at about a 12:30pm.. flashed and got a wave back * Red Corrado on the A46 (different one) - think it was lowered on black alloys heading out of Coventry on the A46 at about 4pm.... didn't see you in time / wave. * Re-spotted the first Red Corrado on the London Road in Coventry at about 4.15pm... didn't manage to wave in time.. * A Blue one (possibly early) on the Ring Road in Coventry just near the exit near the Days Hotel at about 4.30pm - you were a few cars back and I saw you just as I came off the exit... Total shock. I go weeks and weeks without ever seeing Corrado's and then that many in one day!
  13. Agreed. I did see that one when it was up for sale by Rustynuts and thought it could go either way in terms of being on the road for many more years. Looks like you got to it just in time and have really splashed the cash and put in some serious hours on it... superb.
  14. Just letting you know my extra switch arrived at my friends house OK earlier in the week - thanks again Matt :)
  15. Yes - would go for one of those too I reckon and wouldn't cost the earth?
  16. Jim

    VR6 Radiator

The original part is available from Classic Parts.. you could go through about 8 of them for the price of a gruven one!
  17. Hah.... need to get that alternator bearing sorted out first mate ;)
  18. Seems a reasonable price actually!
  19. Not at all mate... having gotten a daily driver now which is modern and comfortable, I can see how people lose interest and just move on! Having gone through quite a few big life changes / events in the last year or so, I can see how priorities for things like cars can fall by the wayside!
  20. I had a run of fun with bad wheel bearings a few years back on my 16V until I got some genuine VW wheel bearings fitted.. and on one of the occasions, I was getting the same sort of noise you described and in the conditions you described... so could well be a wheel bearing!
  21. Vince@Stealth said the same thing to a forum member on a rolling road a few years ago.. it's a lot of work to try and turbo a 9A.. it makes a lot more sense to just rip that out and stick in something more modern, already turbocharged..
  22. We can organise logistics of that stuff nearer the time, Eric. I can come over to yours the day before and pick up stuff to carry in the Corrado, etc..
  23. Hi Wendy - really appreciate you taking this on! You don't need to bankroll this though - I'm happy to cover costs, etc so you're not out of pocket and hopefully I can recover costs for the food. Sausages and burgers sound grand.... :) Also thought it would be a good idea to only run the BBQ for a few hours.... say from 10am through till say midday that way you're not stuck behind it all day and can get out and mingle and stuff - same for Fay who has very kindly volunteered to help :)
