Right, as was mentioned before, some general consensus was to meet up at my Saxo VTR (well, for those forum members wanting to put names to faces) - just so there is no confusion, I have been and put a Corrado-Forum.Net sticker in my driver side door window in the bottom left corner.. So look out for a very clean (sell, sell), gold Saxo VTR on a Y Plate with a Corrado Forum sticker in the window... it'll be me! :)

If you wanted to buy a Corrado for tuning, then the 2.0 16v was probably not a good bet. You are somewhat restricted with what you can do, as the only way to really unleash some power (and albeit not a great deal) is to spend money on things like getting the head gas flowed, and doing significant engine changes. There are not a great deal of bolt on mods (as there are with the G60) to boost power on the 2.0 16v!

Testing mode... hehehe... so thats what you call it eh Darren? :D

Is your Corrado the famous-for-fading red colour? If so I can vouch for the fact that a proper cut & polish as Rams described will bring it up a treat. A guy a few doors up the street has a MK2 Golf GTI in the red colour, and it was looking pretty sorry - the paint had gone white or pink in a number of places and I thought that it would need a respray to sort it out. I came home about a week ago to find the same Golf looking immaculate - the wheels were spotless and the paintwork deep red colour. It doesn't look like he's had a respray so I think he has it professionally polished and it looks superb.

Looks excellent mate :)

Well just for everyones info, Tom is sending me a quantity of stickers to sell at the CCGB national day.. so for anyone who hasn't managed to get around to ordering any yet, and is going to the national day, come and see me to buy some! :)
-
I love the sound of that! Really good of you to phone up funky! Shall we get this together then?
-
I think i'll be giving Adrian Flux a call when I get another Rado - even sweeter that someone I work with's sister just started working for them.. wonder if I can get any kind of discounts :D
-
Don't say what you paid.. as it'll just make me even more frustrated that I haven't managed to sell mine and get Corrado hunting yet! :)

Whoa... man thats a beauty!! I never knew such a Renault existed.. can see where the Clio V6 got its styling tips from! 160BHP is a lot for a hot hatch today mate!! :) Or maybe thats just cause I drive a 98BHP 'warm' hatch ;) -
Hm.. well if the front discs are warped, probably best to get down to a local motor factors and pick up a nice set of OE style ones - won't really cost a great deal (probably about £70 or so quid). As for the gear change.. might possibly be worth replacing gearbox oil, or possibly getting the gear linkage cables checked as they could have gotten slack. Again, neither of those should break the bank if you take it to a garage, or if you are a bit more hands on (as it sounds like you are) you could do it youself :) Sounds great though.. definately thinking more about getting a G60 when I come to buy. More power than a valver, with similar / identical insurance group is good with me! :)

Is it the older shape, ala Gordini style? :) Gotta say I think they look pretty awesome, in a retro kinda way :) -
Nice impulse buy! Looks very very nice indeed... engine is clean looking, and those alloys look pukka :) What kinda mileage / mods / info you got on it for us then? :)

Hm.. it really is hit and miss. I heard all the horror stories (only use VW, insist on a VW screen) but at the time I only had TPF&T and had to fork out for a new windscreen myself - I found a place local to me that did em for £240, and they seemed like a reasonable bunch. First time I got it done, I think they missed a bit and I had to take it back as it leaked when I washed the car.. they apologised profusely and sorted it out - and it was fixed for good. Never had another complaint with the screen.. Problem is if the company DOES screw up fitting the screen, it can go really bad. A fellow on the eGroup got the electrics on his Storm seriously damaged by a bunch of halfwits at a windscreen fitment centre.. apparently it took them about 4 attempts to get them right, and seriously upset the Storm owner because of all the hassle and damage to his car. Fingers crossed though eh? :)

Hehe.. the terminatrix has remote control of your car :)
-
Hehe... if it was a serious mechanical fault I wouldn't have a giggle, but this just make me chuckle to myself. Hope it hasn't got you into too much trouble with people or anything - driving past beeping at women, or at another car who doesn't know what he has done wrong! :)
-
Its a shame.. the G60 would be a nice car if it wasn't for all the bloody stickers on it.
-
Didn't you only just buy that car?
-
Should be able to - non C owners can still come and just pay at the gate like non CCGB members who own Corrado's :)
-
Er... tripple post there! Gonna remove two of em.
-
I like the all black colour... looks excellent! :)

Nope, but there have been quite a few threads on the subject : http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2703 http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2695 :) -
Well the reason that Stealth was mentioned was its good central location.. its not really biased to any particular area of the country (apart from us Midlanders) because its only about 20 miles away from the center of England. Wonder if somewhere like AmD would accomodate us... thats a pretty easy drive, and its ever so slightly closer for the southerners? :)
