  1. I'd also consider changing the disty cap and rotor arm.. they might help a little? Dont know anything about the cold start injector though mate.. anyone here at all?

Card games and driving can be dangerous!! *sounds of Tom being bundled into the back of a van, and being driven away to be shot* My sides! They are splitting!! ;)
  3. The U.S. ones were a LOT better.. the reason I originally ordered the mats from the dealer was because I saw some advertised on the US Ebay. When the price came up as 57 quid for a set of carpets at the dealer, I figured it must be them so I ordered. The US ones are thick carpet with, as you say Nigel, red Corrado lettering which actually appears to be stitched into the carpet as a pose to glued on.
  4. oh i forgot.....STRICTLY NO SAXO's....hehehehe Thats alright mate.. gonna go meet up with the Saxo massive down at the local McDonalds car park for burnouts and 'boot open bass tests' :) I am of course just kidding ;)
  5. Slightly :) Multimap is struggling to work out the route ;) Ahh.. here we go.. a snip at 455 miles!!!

    Corrado TDI

Nice car mate! Welcome to the forums by the way!! Please feel free to spread the word to the corrado-forum.nl people which I noticed the link to on the bottom of your page! :) So similar power to the 16v engine, yet with the economy of a diesel. What kind of 0-60 / top speed do you get out of it? :)

    Corrado TDI

I guess its proof that diesels can look good.. even if it takes a Corrado as the donor to get it that way :)
  9. Welcome to the forum :) Your C looks sweet.. really do like the red tail lights!
  10. Well people should be aware that supercharging your Corrado isnt necessarily bullet proof.. all of the people I know of in the community with superchargers have experienced problems in one way or another. Still I can only imagine its a good trade off for the devastating performance that a supercharger must bring to the VR6.. next club meet, I wouldn't mind going out in one to see what its like! :)
  11. Are they behind? So they are! :)
  12. Oooh.. cool site Andy. I'll bookmark that one :)
  13. You could try out Awesome GTI, Euro Car Parts, TSR Performance, or the dubiously named Big Boys Toys... Cant tell I was just skimming though Performance VW magazine eh? :)
  14. Hi there and welcome to the forums - glad you found us! :) A few events do happen down London way, but from what I have seen not necessarily Corrado specific ones. A popular one in London is the Elite 1000 Ace Cafe meet which happens every month or so I believe. The main events for Corrado owners are GTI International (most definately the big one) and various Corrado club things like Rolling Road Days and the Annual General Meeting. Just keep your eyes peeled around the forum for news on these. Tuning wise... its not particularly easy to unleash horses from the 16v's without doing expensive work.. I am no mechanic myself but the favourite initial mods on a Corrado seem to be : * Good quality sports exhaust (Magnex, Milltek, etc) * Replacement air filter element (K&N, JR, etc) * A rechip / rolling road run at somewhere like AmD or Stealth Racing. That should *hopefully* see in an additional 10-15BHP. Beyond that you are getting onto 5th injectors, gas flowed heads, and capacity increases. Anyway.. I am sure someone a little more technical will post with more information. Have a poke around - we may be relatively new, but quite a few bits and pieces have already been posted & discussed on the subject of tuning :)
  15. Sheesh... just read the title for this thread and was instantly reminded of the Something About Mary 'cleaning the pipes' :) Heh
  16. so 286lbs of torque not enough for you then jim ! it would cost around 5Kfor us to put and engine of this spec together but if you done enough reserch you could build it yourself with quite a saving ... 20vt's are gonna be so common why not put a cult engine into a cult vee-dub ..keep the g-lader as it was ment for the corrado and just aint the same without it!!! (sorry all vr owners! ) Guess I shouldnt go by everything I read in magazines then :(
  17. Wow.. at least I am not the only ex-owner around here mate. I share the pain!!
  18. It is quite a huge job converting a regular G60 to a 2.0 16v G60 - limited numbers of these were factory made (Golfs though, not Corrados) and the result is that you can't get many off the shelf parts to do this mod - a lot of stuff has to be custom made and a lot of stuff has to be changed. Plus, it doesnt really give you enormous power gains.. much better off dropping a 20V 1.8T engine in and retuning that - cheaper, probably more reliable, and much easier to get some extra horses out of it :)
  19. 62MPH is almost dead on 100KMH if that helps..
  20. Making this one sticky, as it should be really. Any more reccomendations? :)
  21. Guess I should stick AmD on here as well.. the rolling road day they hosted was good, and their staff & facilities are excellent. Here's the details : AmD Unit D2 Telford Road Bicester Oxfordshire OX26 4LD Tel : 01869 323205 Email : mailto:[email protected] Web : http://www.auto-amd.com
  22. I heard about some guy who modded his car to have the release button in the door mirror.. so you actually pressed the glass part of the mirror and it popped the door open. A great idea, except you'd get finger prints all over your mirrors! But please tell.. i'm keen to know how you open the doors! :)

    AmD Tomorrow...

I think chip change is definately the best way.. I am sure if you speak to both Stealth and AmD you will get a pretty good idea of what is the best solution.

    AmD Tomorrow...

Was very impressed at that figure Chris.. very healthy indeed! An induction kit and rechip would certainly give you a comfortable 5-10BHP on top of that I am sure.. :) Did you get a chance to hear that Carbon Canister induction kit in the end??
  25. Quote a popular place, from what I have seen, is up by the couple of spare 'blanking' buttons up near the fog light and heated rear window controls.. both my Corrado, and my mates Corrado VR6 (which was fitted with a Clifford) used to have the immobiliser lights around there. HTH..
