Yeah.. the rear wiper always was a bit of a game. As Andi said, you just had to be quick to prevent it squirting water when you didnt want it to. Definately a naff design. The MFA and variable intermittent wipe were great gadgets though.. And no, unless you have the special arm on your steering column that controls cruise control, then you don't have it. I believe it was available as an option but hardly anyone had it fitted!

I don't plan on leaving this place any time soon.. believe me, you guys will be the first to know if I manage to get myself back into a Corrado again any time soon :D
-
My Corrado ended up being a major money pit.. not only that but insurance didn't seem to be falling as much as I liked, and I basically realised I couldn't afford to keep running the Corrado. I switched over to the Saxo for a few reasons : * Economical * Quite quick * Looks kinda sporty * Still have a year of manufacturers warranty It has saved me a fortune already in just a month or two of ownership. Now, dont get me wrong.. I REALLY miss my Corrado for the looks, attention, and community side of owning it, but I really haven't missed coming out to the car on a morning and finding yet more problems or issues requiring my hard earned cash to fix. I do plan on coming back with a Corrado VR6 in a year or so though, because I still think the Corrado is the mutts nuts. The Saxo is just to save me some cash for a while :)

Hm... well funnily enough there was a shop in Coventry city centre which sold posters and all other bits and pieces with car art just like yours. I don't know if they are still there, but next time I go in I will look out for them and we can sort something out!
-
Would be cool if Darren could get them for a good price.. have a group fitment day up at PD Motorsport :)
-
Tom, From posts I have seen on the eGroup, when swapping out suspension its definately worth ditching the top mounts for new ones. They may have only done 40k, but they are still around 8 or 9 years old. Definately worth swapping.
-
Andy, I got about 8 or so... how do you wanna get em? :)
-
Here is the link to the pictures of jimmay's Corrado.. started a new thread in the members gallery for em :) http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... 1989#11989 Have to say, those wheels definately suit the C!! Very nice indeed! :)
-
Here are a few shots of jimmay's corrado that he sent me, to post up on here for you guys! The alloys look sweet.. and the car itself looks really tidy as well!! :)
-
Did you have locking wheels nuts on the car? Were they the standard VW alloys or aftermarket ones?
-
jimmay, Email the picture to me (mailto:[email protected]) and I will post it up onto the forum for you :)
-
You should have seen it mate.. it was mint. I had a stroll round the car and couldnt find anything wrong with it at all. Plus it had the black leather interior, with electric recaros... sweet. Check this picture of the engine bay.. as if the outside wasnt clean enough...
-
BTW.. spot andyg60 at the front there :) If you happen to read this Andy, what was your take on those wheels?
-
Well here is a shot of very very similar wheels on Bill Aitkens lurrvely Blackberry VR6. They definately suited the car imho!
-
Mike.. there is an edit button which allows you to edit posts you just made :) I've edited the typo for you. Have to say Mike, its hard not to be envious. Having 3 C's parked up out the front of the house would be excellent :) I'll have to settle for a Saxo for now though :|
-
Just resized the image a little Ant.. seemed to look kinda squished so I flattened it a little :) Lookin good btw! :D
-
Could be the clutch on the way out... noticable vibration inside the car when pulling away is often a sign of that.
-
Soo.. pretty unanimous for the 5 spokers then :D

High mileage VR6 corrados..............................
Jim replied to DORSET_V_DUBSTER's topic in General Car Chat
VR6 engine should, if properly maintained (look for a good service history) be able to crunch up an indefinate amount of miles.. i'd suspect 250k/300k wouldnt be difficult. It is a well built & strong VW engine.. regular oil changes, appropriate driving behaviour (letting it warm properly before using high speed and revs), and all the other stuff should see it lasting a long time. Dont be put off by a high miler as long as it comes with all the paperwork! -
Er yeah... lets not be knocking the various companies who post on here mate. PD Motorsport have already earned a terrific reputation on here with their customer service & excellent work.
-
Hope you get everything sorted out soon mate. Why is it none of us have any positive stories about catching the scumbags who do this to our cars :( I was so pissed when my car got done.. I'd of loved to have walked up behind the kid (as it was more than likely to be a kid) wrecking my car, and just shoved his face into the side window REALLY hard. *sigh*
-
Don't know nothing about headers I am afraid :(
-
Well I am not sure what kinds of systems you can get over there.. popular ones amongst VR owners over here seem to be : Milltek, Magnex, Jetex, Supersprint, Scorpion. Dont expect noticable performance gains with a performance exhaust... though I personally found my 16v felt a lot more restricted once I put regular / OE parts on to replace knackered sports parts.
-
Paul, The VR can get to / past 150MPH as I am sure a few members have discovered on here. Not only that, I wouldn't really want a tyre that could handle 150MPH on a car with a top speed of say 148MPH.. i'd prefer to go to the next band along to be safe.
