Was a nice day.. was really good to meet you Andy.. going for a spin in your Corrado just reminded me how much I missed mine. I really have got to get another Corrado!! Nice to see you again too Chris.. starting to become a bit of a regular thing :)
-
Head over to AmD's site mate.. they have a little map with directions from the M40.. thats what I printed out and will be clutching the whole way down there tomorow :)
-
Hah.. I just looked up Cirencester... you wont really even touch the M40, rather just skip over it on your way into Bicester. That kinda rules that out then :(
-
That makes two of us mate... though it seems a relatively simple route. I'll be joining M40 at junction 15 and then heading straight down to the junction for Bicester which is junction 9.. supposedly a pretty easy run. There is a services on the M40 somewhere between junction 15 and 12... (*edit* Just looked and apparently between junctions 13 & 12 is the services...) could meet you there if you wanted? I dont know which direction you'd be coming in, from Cirencester?
-
Right then! Who should I be on the look out for? I know Andy (andyg60) is goin.. any one else? The route down seems easy enough so I will give it a go. Apparently it all kicks off at 9am.. i'll be there in my gold Saxo.

Taxi's...
-
Well it does have quattro.. i'd rather throw an Audi TT into a corner at 125MPH than some of the other cars out there!! :)
-
A Corrado VR6 is on my wish list.. Ahem :(
-
Wow! Colour me impressed.. I never saw Oz alloys that I felt suited the Corrado until now. A mint mint mint looking motor you have there mate :)
-
My favourite alloys on a C :) Nice car mate :) Is it sherry or bordeaux pearl?
-
The VR6 does, as far as I know have a bigger tank than the other Corrado's :)
-
It seems to get plenty of attention.. I had about 8 people at the AGM come over to me with something like "You must be Jim.." :) I'll look forward to meeting you if I make it down :)
-
Andy, I'm hoping to go.. though was hoping to meet up with someone on the M40 as I haven't been down to AmD before!
-
Erm.. I thought the Corrado had a low fuel light? By the way.. I was always told it was really bad letting your car basically run to empty - the fuel tank collects sedament and other assorted crap which if you let the tank run to empty all pour out and jam in the fuel filter. Its a cheap part to replace so you might want to get it changed if you experience problems since doing this.. I believe the crud that gets jammed in the fuel filter can restrict the flow of petrol into the engine. 454 miles isn't bad though :)

Just wait till you get a VR6 and crack an induction kit on there instead of the standard OE filter.. to go with the performance you get a superb roar every time you put your foot down. Loud enough to make children cry and old people fall over :)

Hm... not too sure on G60's but the development of any new wierd noises is always worth getting checked out - especially on a car like the G60!
-
Well I did know of two... Guy Hartley and Tom Ingram. Tom recently sold his supercharged VR, and Guy Hartleys is currently undergoing a major repair after melting piston #1. Unfortunately neither of them use this forum!
-
Hehe.. same as me. Hoping for no more than a few years, and then looking for a VR :)
-
What are you getting instead of your Corrado? I can vouch for the fact that : a) You wont stop comparing your next car to the Corrado.. b) You'll be working out when you can afford another one.. c) You'll still read forums and the mailing lists, replying as if you were still an owner!

Well I believe Shell guarantee it to be a minimum of 98RON, but its frequently around 99 - 99.5RON.
-
1. The 1.8 16v has K-Jetronic... 2. Running on Optimax is highly reccomended for the 1.8 16v's! It is in fact designed to run on 98RON, which is what optimax is. 3. No problems :)

Nuts.. oh well mate. Theres always next time!
