Makes a nice change to see Europeans getting the better deal for once.. yay for Volkswagen :)
-
Hah.. ok.. I have seen that car on multiple occasions as its from Coventry :) Tinted blue glass, blue artwork on the side and white imolas.. definately know that car! Eyes are now peeled!!
-
Nice one, who ever just split this off the "Ugliest C's thread".. I was just digging my way through the Moderator options to try and do that myself :) moG60, Where abouts in Warwickshire are you? I am in Coventry so I will be keeping a look out for you. What reg was it, and do you have a picture?

Oooooh now you're getting me excited, that's my other hobby (apart from my Corrado...) I'm into Linux iptables/ipchains and have a smoothwall running at home on my adsl connection... 8) Don't even start me on VPNs/ipsec/pptp and all that.... I'll get my coat.....   Yay.. another Linux user :) I run a bunch of Linux servers for my job, and I am currently in negotiation with my boss to get a Red Hat Certified Engineer course & certification under my belt. Which would be nice.

Too big!! By miles! I'd definately stop at 17's, get a sweet suspension setup to compliment it and leave it at that.. a decked Corrado on somethin like BBS RK's is just right imho.

Hehe... kev is speaking my language. I am currently on a CCNA course which was split up and spread over two years of twice weekly night school.. its driving me INSANE and I wish I had just gone for a fast track or similar style of course. Thankfully we are in the middle of Semester 4 so by Summer it should be all out of the way. Cisco certainly seems to be the field to get into ... a license to print money, if the consultants that come and visit us are anything to go by :)

I am a 'Senior Computer Technician' for City College Coventry (http://www.covcollege.ac.uk) in the West Midlands. I am responsible for a bunch of servers, I help manage the team (kind of *grin*) and I do all the other normal techie jobs as well.

Shaaaaaat it :)

Odd... thought the forum used to thumbnail pictures?

Heres a few photies by the way :
-
You know, to be honest, I wasn't paying too much attention - i'd had a few beers and was quite half baked and sleepy sitting in the sun :) I think a few ran 16's and 17's - it just looked like they really were not trying at all. Are you planning to go to the next one Ant? I wouldn't meeting ya, and checking out your quick looking G60!!! :)
-
chuck, A mate of mine has a 306 D-Turbo Sport.. I have to agree that it is a surprisingly quick car, and will show quite a few cars up (gave my Corrado a hard time at lower speeds, but ran out of steam when you got above 90) - I guess, even though it was a diesel, forced induction is the way to go! And as for what to do with the car.. talk about two minds :| Realistically I really should keep a hold of the Saxo.. no way in hell I can afford to put myself into more trouble with another Corrado for a good few years yet. I am umm'ing and ahh'ing on here because I am just terrible at making decisions..
-
Yeah.. I saw those other Corrado's as well.. took a few snaps which i'll try and post up here in a little while. That silver grey VR looked (and sounded) really nice - and the guy that owned it seemed a pretty chatty guy. Though all of the Corrado's had generally dissapointing runs and I dont know why. They are definately quick cars, so I don't understand why they did so badly. That G60 with the bonnet scoop & Azev alloys didn't really do well at all!

I think thats a good reason NOT to move to Derby :p :p Just kidding mate :)
-
Well I am aiming just to rent a flat or something for a while.. house prices here in Coventry are similarly ridiculous - and to be honest, Coventry is such a bloody dive, I can't understand why its so expensive!! I might look outside of the city to be honest.. I hate the hustle and bustle so to rent a place on the outskirts would do me great :)
-
Damnit... no... I gotta wait. I wanna just hang on a few years, get myself into a flat (can't live at home forever) and then look at getting a VR in a few years.
-
I'll wait and see what happens in the next few months.. I am still waiting on a reasonably large pay rise which I have been promised for ages. If it leaves me stacked with cash, I might ditch the Saxo and either pick up an older Corrado (saw a mint, CCGB member owned one for 2k the other day.. looked ace) or pick up a nice MK2 16v Golf GTI as I have a bit of a soft spot for them as well :) Damnit.. I want to be sensible and run this Saxo but I realise now that the Corrado was a hobby for me which I really enjoyed.. and now I have ditched it, I realise it. Hell, I don't go out a lot or spend money on anything else.. why shouldn't I run a nice car :)
-
I wondered when it'd show up... shows the wrong picture so I cant be sure, but sounds about like mine : 1994 VOLKSWAGEN CORRADO 2.0 16v, 1994, Metallic Purple with Grey Karman trim, 5 speed, PAS, e/s/r & windows, alloys, alarm, stereo, spoilers, total service history, an outstanding example at. £3,995 . terms. Moseley Rd, Highgate. exclusive Tel: (0121) 446 4656 or (07771) 881509 452 Distance: 15 miles Price: £3,995 *sob* Just seeing all the Corrado's today at the Pod made me miss mine all the more.. the temptation to sell the Saxo and just pick up a cheaper 1.8 16v already is driving me nuts! Argh!!
-
Well the next one is two weeks away on Sunday 30th - I should hopefully be heading up for that one as well, so maybe we can get a bit of a turn out for the forum?? :) Great day today by the way.. nice to meet & chat to you 2CC...
-
I'll see you there then!! About to get a lift up to the pod with a few mates, so i'll come and find you guys today! :)
-
Nigel, We'll have to arrange the VW equivilant of a Red Cross parcel and post you PVW over every month if you are really desperate for it :)
-
I was always trying to save up to get a Supersprint system for my Corrado but because of all the little problems, never managed to afford one. But they did look like very very nice systems indeed.
-
Well.. I don't want to slag off peoples ideas at all... but I think a pipe like that would just not suit the Corrado at all. I personally like the look of any stainless system which mimics the original oval style exhaust tip - looks just right on the Corrado. I also rather like the DTM style but no one else around here does... or do they? :)
-
I'll try and get some snaps of the page with my digital camera tonite (I dont have a scanner) and post em up here.. it really is rather ugly as the picture Nigel posted will testify :)

Jesus...
