  1. Superb mate, it really is... not a fan of heavily modified Corrado's but that one looks excellent.
  2. Coventry seems to have a fair few Corrado owners in it, but none of em apart from me are members. I have seen a few nice examples including a really nice mytic blue storm.. and the guy even gave me a wave on a few occasions when I saw him at lights (that was when I had my C though obviously).
  3. Dave, I am really sorry to hear that mate :( I haven't really got any words or advice as I am most certainly not a mechanic.. just keep your fingers crossed and hope that its going to be the cheapest & easiest route to getting it fixed!!
  4. There were a couple of VR's that had been slightly lowered on their 15" Speedlines.. in my opinion, if the drop was just about right, they looked very very nice. If I ever do get a VR6 (dag nammit) then just mildly lowered suspension with original Speedlines will be the order of the day.. supoib! :)
  5. Hehe.. yeah... Ian Morris had a pretty embarrasing ring tone.. though when his went off it reminded me to promptly dig mine out of my pocket and put it into silent mode!
  6. I think I might sticky this for you.. as its a huge post, and worthy of some attention.
  7. Yeah... nice car Buddha :) Get that respray sorted (stone chips are the curse of ALL Corrado owners) and you'll be laughing.. WTF is with the gearstick though.. never seen that look / modification! Can you give us a little more info? Is it an auto?
  8. Yep.. post some details, a picture, and your location. Most of us spot a Corrado a mile off so we might be able to help you mate!
  9. Well it was designed by VW for a reason.. they wouldnt have put it on there if it didnt make a huge amount of difference. Off the top of my head, I would assume its to help keep the back end down when doing aggressive cornering (I have heard that the VR does like to loosen up at the back, despite the Corrados superb handling and poise) and to keep the car stable under heavy braking from speed. But you are right.. if you are after pure speed, the spoiler does introduce an element of drag. Not an awful lot but..
  10. Yep - sure was mate. Just by chance, you dont happen to know of any really good bodyshops you'd reccomend? I went down to a pretty good looking on one sandpits lane called Wyndom or something.. been quoted £400 to put right :|
  11. Mark, I didnt even see you... I dont know how I didnt spot your car!
  12. Indeed... you'll be easier to hit with the rotten vegetables that way! :D
  13. Well.. if you'd gone to the AGM then you would have 'officially' known then ;) :)
  14. I can only guess that you hadn't signed in when looking at the AGM thread... :)
  15. I can't be sure, but KR sounds about right. The code for the 2.0 16v was 9A wasnt it? KR definately does ring a bell... *edit* Ah, found this on AmD's website, under their list of cars which Magnecore ignition leads are available for : "VW Corrado 1.8 16v (Eng code:KR) 89-92"
  16. Bump.. just to try and help this guy out. Anyone?
  17. This is a dupe post... please try and keep relevant topics to the same threads. If someone can help, they will post!
  18. Well if you make it on the 30th, I'd definately be keen to see what your car is like.. if you want to let me have a go, that'd be sweet but dont feel you have to if you are even slightly unsure about it. But if the offer is there, I will snap your hand off :D Hope you get problems sorted out.. I guess when you are unleashing so much power from your engine, the mounts are gonna show a bit of strain ;)
  19. Ant, I vanished because it seemed like EVERYONE there joined the queue to buy merchandise.. and as I had only eaten a small breakfast I was starting to get a bit peckish so I made a beeline for the exit :) I'll definately spend a bit of time chatting with you at the next event though.. your G60 looked & sounded(!!) superb.. wouldn't mind a run down the 1/4 @ Santa Pod with you some time or somethin :) And of course I didnt particularly want to leave at the same time as everyone else, because I am sure everyone would have taken great delight in booting past me in my little Saxo.. though to be fair I got onto the motorway and hit 100MPH with still a lot more left in it. And I couldnt believe how steady and stable it felt.. very reassuring at speed! Roddy, I talked with Mark for ages today.. he was a really really nice guy.. just continued chatting with him over email this evening. Sent him the high res picture of his car, as he hasn't got a digital camera to capture a picture for himself. His 16v was superb and I really wanted it. Its up for sale as I said.. you wouldn't believe the car he potentially has lined up to replace it though!! :)
  20. Yeah... well done mate. I look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve... the idea of being able to pay for club membership & merchandise over the site was bought up very quickly and seemed an interesting prospect. I know you had mentioned you planned to get a payment system setup for the site, so it should be pretty damn good! :)
  21. I just altered the title for you Ant, to warn the modem users out there.. would be a bit of a killer! :) I'll attach one or two of my pictures shortly to this post - just need to resize em first!
  22. Tom, If you dont have a VW dealer near you, I can get the parts from my local stealer (should still get parts club discount) and mail em to you.. though with my Saxo needing the door sorting after getting broken into, it'd have to be 'cash up front' as I just dont have the cash to go buy em and get the money off you after :|
  23. Well because I am a bit of a fuss bag, I rarely leave anything in my car, let alone on display for people to pinch.. the only things in my car were a CD wallet, a reciept, and a scraper for ice on the windscreen. I had taken my stereo fascia off and they never got to that.. thank god or that would have had to be an insurance job. Bye bye no claims!! The car park is a little out of the way, but not only was it full of cars (so should be a little busy) but I parked my Corrado loads of times in there in the past without even a hitch. I think after I recover from the cost of having the locks sorted out on the car, might consider getting a good quality Toad or Clifford style alarm installed.. then I can stick the appropriate branding stickers on the window and have the little blinking light on the dash. As it is my car only has a 'chip in the key' style immobiliser, which isn't really going to stop people from getting into your car and stealing things they fancy.
