Good luck.. if its any consolation I recently passed without any problems at all :) The funny thing is, the tester said 'Smile, its only an MOT' - yeah, though not great if they decide that your car needs £500 of work doing to keep it road legal!! :)
-
There are a few superchargers around though they do go for a bit of cash... eBay Germany is a good bet : http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... gory=28606 http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... gory=28606 They look pretty dirty and would probably need a refurb as soon as you got em, but its not a bad starting point! :)

http://www.eurocarparts.com or http://www.gsfcarparts.com :) Shouldn't be any more than about 40 quid.. though I believe stealer prices should be pretty similar.
-
Could see that one coming a mile off.. he was lucky he didn't really total that car. Certainly giving it a bit of stick!! :)
-
How much did they rob you for one m8?
-
I can't answer your question, but I can welcome you to the forums :) Welcome! :D
-
Nigel, Have you got a part number for the 16v key? Could go see the stealer about it..
-
Doesn't your key have this already? Mine does. Not sure I'd want to make my keyring heavier and bigger than it already is - jangling keys really annoy me.... No.. quite alarmingly, my keys are not proper VW ones - just plain black basic ones with 'Curtis' or something stamped on em :| Might give GPC a call then at some point and see if they have em!! :)
-
Yea.. again, I have the same thing happen all the time. Again, it makes me feel like I am being over obsessive, but it drives me up the wall. They make such a big deal about getting in the back and kinda fall into the seats or kick something... I just sit there cringing. I have had trim scratched and mud all over the place.. it really gets on my nerves!!
-
Well as I said, they do apparently normally sell a VR6 one.. guess there just wasn't any listed at this moment in time! As far as I understand it, there isn't any transponder system built into the key - but there is a funky little keyhole finding torch :D
-
I was just reading on VWVortex (cough) and someone had made a mention about these excellent VW blank keys with 16v/G60/VR6 logo's on them.. checked em out on eBay and they are realllllly funky!! Haven't seen em over here before... see what you think. I have emailed the guy to see if his ships to UK as the buy it now price is low :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6776 (G60 Keys) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6776 (16v Keys) Get the blanks, take em to the dealer, and get em to cut em! :) No VR6 ones on there atm :(

Its nice to see I am not the only one who gets so frustrated about such things.. I was starting to think I was getting obsessive. Its like.. I know that my Corrado certainly is not a Ferarri, and I know they can be bought quite cheaply these days.. but I am still concious they are getting rather few and far between.. not only that, but I dont want to have to pay out for any other people being inconsiderate. Lord knows my car has enough little cosmetic bits that need sorting - I dont want any more :| As for the Citroen posse, I will be keeping a very close eye out on them.. I have never ever damaged or done stupid things to anyone elses car.. but they might just drive me to it if anything else happens.

Ok.. working at a college has its ups and downs. I have had things done to my car in the past.. today no actual damage was done, but it was the point of the thing. I parked up this morning in a gap, after following some moron in a jazzed up Saxo into work. I was particularly fussy about the car this morning as I had washed it on Saturday and garaged it.. so it was spotless this morning. After I park up, I notice another car back into the spot just in front of me.. a really really cruddy Citroen AX (like 1 litre / shopping cart style) which has a big ICE system in it.. yes, I have walked past it and chuckled to myself on a number of occasions when all the lads have been stood around the boot, admiring the noise. A part of me, after parking up, thought - I think I should move my car as I know they all stand around the back of that car. But I thought I was just being fussy so I walked away. So.. I came to my car this evening to find polythene wrappers jammed into my VW badge on the front of the car, and some kind of crispy dust on my bonnet. Talk about bloody annoyed :( I get sick of trying to keep my car nice, only for other losers to try and ruin it for me.. it seriously makes me wanna go down there and bust some f'ing heads  Half of the students at that college are just mindless morons.. I think the next time any actual damage happens, I am going to put in a bloody complaint. Last time it was a nail from the car body shop jammed in the tyre (cost 60 quid for a new one).

Oh man oh man... This is almost TOO stereotypical - this is a customer review from a BMW driver : Man this thing rocks! I’m surprised BMW didn’t come up with this one! I’ve mounted mine onto the back windscreen of my new E46 M3. It's great making jealous Fiesta, Micra and Nova drivers angry! My message of the month is ‘It’s a shame you're never gonna drive one of these!' Ha ha ha… It's also great for pulling girls on the move – 'Can I see your twin Airbags!' This is a must have gadget guys and girls. Asghar Mohammad Khattak, Aylesbury  Will someone please pass me the spike strip so that I can take this loser off the road :|

Intellistart is a very cool feature.. a friend of mine who used to own a C VR6 (it made me want to buy one) used to have it, and I thought it was a totally cool gadget :) But if you have it installed, doesnt it void thatcham certification or something?
-
Hi all, Might as well stick this in ICE as it usually comes in under the same category. I keep thinking about getting the awful awful alarm system on my Corrado replaced (well, its right down the bottom of the list, but I still keep thinkin about it!). It doesnt seem to tie into the C's system at all - the key fob simply has one button which is arm & disarm - the locks and stuff are all done by the key. I wouldn't mind getting a Clifford or Toad alarm system installed eventually where I can do the locking all from the keyfob... Any suggestions on ones to go for, and expected cost including removing my crappy old alarm? Thanks :)

I'd like to go but its a bit of a trek.. not only that but my C certainly isnt a showable car.. the stone chipping on the bonnet and wings, the corroded alloys, the scraped bumper, and general ageing of the paint says so!! :(
-
Ever wondered what alloys will look like on your C?

Also did one for Tom.. not the best Photochop you'll ever see, but here it is. He wanted to see what Kahn RSR's would look like on a C : -
HELP. Why is insurance going up again...Any ideas on cheaper
Jim replied to GazzaG60's topic in General Car Chat
Admiral = pants! Try and work this out : £1514.51... 22 years old, 2 years NCD, no claims/points/accidents, unmodified car. £1521.50... 22 years old, 3 years NCD!! (which I will have in June hopefully), no claims/points/accidents, unmodified. How can it be more expensive with more NCD! I guess they just dont care for insuring 'young' (cough) drivers. -

Hm.. black or gold dont (imho) look as good as the standard shiny silver. Gold is alright, but black looks baaaad. Images attached below : -

Lemme try find a copy of Photoshop to install (am at work) and I will have a go. Which type of wheel do you want me to do? -
If you can post a picture of your car, and the alloys you want darkening, I could photoshop it for you. Not entirely sure it would suit it though...?
