  1. The heater matrix write up is excellent Kris :notworthy: I had a problem with the heater matrix on my A4 & everyone was telling me that it was an all day job and that it was gonna cost big time. Then my next door neighbour told me to locate the two hoses that sit through the bulk head, remove both hose clips & hoses. Then put a pressure washer to one hose & blast it. I couldn't believe the amount of brown stuff that came out the other hose :D I didn't think it would work but thought it was worth a try. If anyone had of seen me... I was standing holding the pressure washer & laughing to myself like a raving lunatic with brown water gushing out all over the engine. That was last summer & its still working fine. Not everyone will be so lucky but its just something to try before getting the tools out :salute:
  2. Hi guys, Another Corrado owner here :D I live on the Tyrone, Donegal border. I've brought 2 Corrado's accross the pond, a tornado Red 16v and a silver VR (which I still have). The guy I sold the 16v also has a red G60. There is a black 2.0 in Donegal about 8miles from me, he also had a G60 but it was crashed & he was breaking it for parts. My C was in storage for almost 4yrs and its coming out again next week. I'd be interested in a meet up somewhere. Regarding C specialists, I don't know of any but I take mine to a VW dealer in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal and they're fairly enthusiastic about the Corrado
  3. That's what I call a respray preparation... :notworthy: I love the yellow Corrado. I remember the first Corrado I ever saw in the flesh was a yellow VR6 back in 1996. That was the car that I dreamed about but I remember reading an article by that guy Quinton (something) and he said that you should always let the woman choose the colour of a car. Thats why I'm driving a silver one Are you taking out the glass? good luck with the respray anyway and make sure you get rid of all that polish/silicone cos if there's any left, it will destroy the finish
  4. I know you've already explained about why you don't insure N Ireland drivers but I just have to say that I don't think its fair
  5. Both cars look very well & both are very different. I used to own a red 16v myself and they do look even better in the flesh. Is your car tornado Red? your mate (photographer) did a good job to. I think spacers - yes, lower - no, its just about right. I think when a C is too low the wheel arches look wrong at the bottom. never seen a cream C before & I like the roof, is it black or carbon fibre? and I like the RHZW1's as well, in fact I like them so much I've just bought myself a set :D
  6. Well I started this yesterday. I Removed the door handles, cleaned & greased the mechanisms, sanded the handles, plastic primed & sprayed them. Fitted them on the car today and they've never worked better :D

    ABS warning light

Think you can just get a small screw driver in under it & prise it out. I cannot accept any responsibility for any damages caused while carrying out this procedure :)
  8. If I got my hands on one, I'd burn it to :)
  9. This should be a good thread but I always read the 'Corrado Manual' threads and can never get any definitive answers. I mean, the Bentley seems to be the best but it costs £90  Is it worth that just to use it for reference from time to time? Surely someone can recommend a decent one we can find on ebay. There seems to be at least 5 for the Corrado ranging between £5 - £90. If anyone has copies of a particular manual maybe you could rate them out of 10 for us.
  10. When is the last time you spoke to your wife 'n' kids then? Looks like you've done a lot of work there mate, fair play to you :salute: It is well worth doing though when you're starting with a car worthy of it Keep up the good work
  11. The koni's ride will also soften when you run them in a bit. Mine needed about 1500 miles before they setteled
  12. Seen that! Didn't like the fact that he referred to it as an 80's boy racer car :)
  13. Hi guys, Well i'm putting my C back on the road again (after almost 4yrs). I never did get the Azev A's on my car because my wheel supplier at the time said he couldn't get a set that fitted. So I ended up buying a set of RS4 type from him which I was never sure on. Since the car has been in storage I've had plenty of time to look at the RS4's and I definetly need to change them. They're to modern looking for the C and do absolutely nothing for it. I still want to put on the Azev A's and want them on ASAP. I already have the car insured but I want these wheels before I take it out. So, the only thing now stopping me take the car out is the damn wheels. Paul20v said above that 16" x 7.5 et35 front and et25 rears will fit without the need for spacers. I've checked and can get these delivered from Germany. So I'm just double checking before I order these and get them sent over. Can anyone confirm that all the above is correct? Cheers,
  14. glad you got it sorted Paul. My central locking is a bit slow recently, sometimes I have to press the button 3 times to open it (e.g. open - close - open again). Anyway, I decided to buy a new central locking pump I saw on ebay. The part number is 357862257 // 357962257. I thought the central locking pump was located in the boot, behind the carpet, near where the petrol comes into the car. The problem is, the pump in there is less than half the size of the new one I got. So I was thinking I'd got the wrong one :( but after reading this post I'm hoping that I've bought a new type :) Can anyone help? Trying to post up an image of the new pump here
  15. Hi all. As the topic suggests, the side lights (rings) on my new Angel eyes are very dim. In fact they are barely visable in the dark. They worked fine for about a week then the passenger side went dim, now both sides are the same. I've searched the forum for similar topics but can't find any answers to my problem. I checked the voltage at the car headlight connector & its just over 12v... Can anyone help? Cheers
  16. It would be nice if they responded with enough details so, we could calculate things like... How many 1.8 16v, 2.0 16v, G60's, VR6's How many Red, Blue, Silver, Black etc...
  17. Great choice of wheel mate... very nice. I'd get them machined tho & bin the spacers. Car is looking PHAT
  18. Thanks for your replys guys. I'll check the light tomorow to see if I can switch reflectors. I was also thinking on changing my fogs to yellow as this may hide the light difference a bit. What do ya think?. Phil, you have PM
  19. Black is very cool on a Corrado (although a bit difficult to keep). When it is clean though it looks great. Is that original corrado front seats retrimed?
  20. Hi Guys, My front fog light had been cracked for a while & I didn't bother too much about as it didn't effect the MOT. Last week I bought two new glasses from http://www.chrisolmstead.com/Corrado/index.htm They are a perfect fit & the fitting instructions are good but, when I took out my old cracked glass I noticed that the chrome on the fog light reflector has faded. I really dont want to fit the replacement glasses until I get this sorted. Does anyone know if I can buy the reflector on its own? I've thought about using some chrome spray but the temp in there would be to high for paint. Any comments, ideas welcome...

    whats this called?

I suppose if you already have a Pioneer head unit then thats the proper job. The link I gave talks about an ipod matched to an Alpine head unit, where the ipod is also controlled from the head unit. Although the essential instructions are also there to integrate any mp3 player into the car, you may find them handy when you start the installation, things such as; Step 1: Getting started Step 2: What you'll need Step 3: Assess your car and your car stereo Step 4: Select an interface Step 5: Remove the stereo Step 6: Install connection or hardware Step 7: Some useful extras Step 8: iPod integrated Good luck & a how to for the corrado would be very nice. I agree that you should try it out on a spare console surround cos, to get a replacement for yours would be very, very difficult. Class interior btw

    whats this called?

I thought about installing my phone/mp3 player into the c as well after reading this... it might be of some help to ya. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11198_7-6212328-1.html
  23. They would be around 178GBP + P&P then, not bad. Some useful honest information on the site as well... makes a nice change.
  24. Very nice, like the street shot very much! Wheel offset & ride height are perfect..
  25. Thanks Phil. Just a little experimenting. Was trying to imagine the Corrado with the ‘new look’ VAG front. It actually looks better in real life. Will take it out somewhere nice & take a few proper photos soon. Heres a couple of pics with the lights on
