  1. I have to make an 12 mile round trip to get my VW mags... but its a good excuse to take the Corrado out for a spin on a Sunday afternoon :D
  2. ah yes , I hold my hands up... I must have been thinking of that well known search engine :) I see that Dougal is also refered to as a 'shaggy Dog' on the official web site so, I suppose that rules the name out anyway.

    CUTS OUT

When I cleaned my ISV the difference was amazing (to say the least). If you have a performance air filter fitted then your ISV is sure to be clogged
  4. What about 'Doogle' (although he was a little hairy hippy)

    CUTS OUT

    Try this...
  6. You should also check the grommets in the bulk head. If you look under the bonnet you'll see that, anywhere there's a cable going from the engine bay into the car itself there should be via a black (round) rubber grommet. Sometimes these grommets come loose which allows water to enter the footwells. I know its been hot recently however most areas have had some rain during the nights. Its definetly worth checking these Good luck...
  7. Say... The VR6 = £5,000 - 5,750 & the 2.0 16v = £3,000
  8. Mine used to stall when I approached a junction or lights etc.. I removed & cleaned the ISV... & to my amazemen the problem was completely cured. The car runs really smooth ever since... so I'd say clean out & try your spare ISV Good Luck
  9. When looked after properly, I think 'Tornedo red' is perfect for the Corrado...
  10. I'm thinking 'Turn2' myself recently... where did you get yours Andy? And heres a pic of a Satin C, rear surround painted for ya to look at. Will look better when I fit the smoked M3's
  11. Cheers, Thats another little weekend project for me then :)
  12. Those wheels look stunnung... I think the gold suits the car colour well. again not normally my cup of tea but, sometimes they just work the only reason I dont have that style of rim on my C is because they look too hard to keep clean.
  13. Am I right in thinking, all we need to do the by-pass is a little hose insert (mm size?) & two hose clips? Do we need to plug the holes in the TB? Phat, did you say earlier that we could run water through the TB from the window wash resevior. If so whats required to do that?

    2.0 8v Vs 2.9 VR6

I had a 1.8 16v & it was ok... in fact it is still ok when compared to todays cars. i.e. Ford Focus 1.8 16v 115bhp
  15. Lucky sod, I got quoted £50 each side from my local scrapyard :x

    Superchips for the VR6

Cheers guys... my 'superchip' man has got a new rolling road in place, thats why I went with him. Although he has yet to fit the 'tie downs' for it so I can't run my car 'before & after' on it. My problem is that living in N Ireland makes a trip to AmD hardly worth while. When I contacted AmD before regarding a chip for the C they told me they would send me out one for £250 off the shelf... you see my predicament! So, now that I'm better versed on the subject I can talk to my 'Superchips' man & tell him that 'I want a before & after run on his rollers'. If there is even a 5% increase in my cars output then I'd be happy to pay him. How much should the work he has carried out so far be worth? (i.e. fitted the little piggy back thing)
  19. Last week I called into a garage who supply & fit the 'Superchips'. I didn't have the c with me but he said that it would be no problem & that he had fitted a few chips to some Golf Vr6's with good results. He told me that I could expect as much as a 10% increase. He told me to remove the ECU box & give him the number on the outside of the box, it started with 0126... or something. The reason he wanted to know the number was to determin the number of pins on the chip. Turns out my 94 VR6 has 28 pins which was good as my garage man had these in stock & could fit it the following evening for me. He expected the whole job to take about an hour. I took the car to him on Monday evening & he removed the chip from the car. He had to melt the solder on the back of each of the 28 pins, remove the chip ensuring the little holes on the board were nice & clean so as he could plug in (as he described it as a) receiver chip. Basicially by fitting this little receiver I can now plug in & remove any future chips without having to solder them in place. He then went to the 'Superchips' web site to look for the VR6 programme to burn onto the new blank chip he had sitting in a little chip burner/writer attached to his PC. As usual the only one he could get was the Golf VR6 programme but he said that they were the same.(????) Anyway, we made the new chip & fitted all back into the car, at this point I must admit the little butterflies started in my stomach as I anticipatred a fun drive home. So, put the chip in, turned over the ignition & guess what... it wouldn't start  We then removed the chip again & he checked the soldering etc. then he told me that the programme he downloaded would not write onto his blank chips so I'd have to call back on Thursday evening. We then put the original chip back in & I headed for home (35 miles btw) To make matters worse when I got into the C yesterday morning it started a clicking & wouldn't start. I phoned my Superchip man & he assured me that it was just a bad connection from the original chip as he didn't clean it properly. Any suggestions or questions that I should ask him tomorow when I call back. I'm not sure about the Golf VR6 programme on the C, anyone know for sure?
  20. Anyone know if the Mk4 front callipers will fit as well?
  21. Maybe someone can check out the prices for a group buy... The ZR2 seems to be the easiest to fit DIY I was wondering, if you drove your charged VR normally for 90% of the time would you still need to improve the standard cooling?
  22. Nice tidy job... & not a wire in sight no monkey business there lol
  23. Very cool car m8, Everything on it seems to work well together
