    Tail Light Conversion

I've seen these before & wasn't sure about them, I thought there were too many gaps ... they look really well in that pic tho You might as well try them & see...
  3. Good car for someone who would love a C & just starting out ...(thats assuming the insurance is cheaper with the 1.4) I'd imagine it would be painfully slow ...0-60 in 14.5 secs

    speaker cover removal?

I got it! I found out that when you remove the two windscreen vents (just lift out) the little centre speaker cover fixings are exposed. The vents hide two little push-in fixings that hold the speaker cover in place. When I removed these I found out that there is nothing underneath ...the cover is just for show (crafty Germans) Anyway I got my Snooper fitted & hard-wired nice & neat. The LCD display on the unit is green so matches the rest of the interior lighting. Well pleased ...time now to find some radars... Dan
  6. Hi all, I just got one of those radar/laser detectors (Snooper S5-R) & I wan't to 'hard wire' it into the C. I think the best place to bring the cable out to the unit from is through the centre speaker/tweeter in the centre of the dash. What I want to know is ...does anyone know how do I remove the speaker/tweeter cover. I'm ok with removing the centre console just not sure about the little cover. I gave it a little tug but it did not come out so I don't want to force it too much ...just in case I'll be back to check here this evening Thanks in advance Dan
  7. Yes I meant them ...remember I told you about how easy it is to fit those washers that are on the actual wiper itself? My mate used the two hoses & sprayers from a Peugeot 405. It looked very subtle & the hoses were just a clean swap onto the C

    MFA - MPG

I took the car on a driving holiday during the summer of 2001, & briefly saw 36mpg. Although I have to say I was trying very hard to see what the VR could do. On my old 16v I once managed 44mpg, again trying very hard Btw, both these figures were showing on the 'current mpg' readout not the 'trip average'
  9. My heart says ...older cars but my head says ...newer cars :?
  10. Very very nice indeed ...they suit the C as well I'd like to ask him a few questions like; do they leak? ...Do they work as good as they do on the A4? ...& where did you get that 'proper bo' bumper :)
  11. Trust me guys, if there was a way to get those wheels on my car, they'd be on now... I needed about 8mm to clear the calliper (which is too much to shave off). I then put on spacers to clear the callipers but the wheel sat outside the arch. They fitted absolutley perfectly on the back & looked very very 8) 8) 8) ...which made me even more angry ...dissapointed ...gutted etc.. Don't get carried away with the offset of ET30-35 etc. it also depends on the style of rim. As I was informed by my wheel supplier ...the offset is measured from the centre of the rim to the inside of the spokes ..so, if your wheels are dished in any way they will actually sit out further at the outter edge
  12. I actually bought a set at the end of the summer but they didn't fit. Just as mentioned above the problem arises from both the design of the wheel & the VR's front calliper. It doesn't matter what offset you get they will not go on... For the VR you need a wheel with the spokes biased to the outside (like the Kahns). Not sure if you've noticed but all the newer VW/Audi cars now come with this design of wheel (i.e. spokes biased to the outside). I ended up getting a set of RS4 wheels which come with the clearance for the front callipers machined out of them.
  13. Quality never goes out of style ...the Corrado will never look dated along with cars like the Lambo Countach ...the 911 ...the Ur Quattro ...even the Beetle btw Lanny, the Delorean was made just outside Belfast.
  14. I've put less than 900 miles on the C since its MOT in July. Its sitting in my garage since the middle of Nov ...all washed underneath ...including wheel arches, even the insides of the alloys ...the paintwork is polished with resin protection for the winter & all rubbers & trims silicone treated. Sometimes I think its gettin a bit silly just sitting there still costing me money :? ...I mean we can't take them with us ...still, I hope its dry this weekend
  15. Hi m8, Corrado's are not supposed to use water ... the coolant should not need topping up. It could be a head gasket problem or it may just be air locked. Has anyone been working on the coolant system latley?
  16. Its the juddering accross the screen that anoys me most :x
  17. Don't know of any ...what part are you looking for?
  18. Once you reach 50MPH the VR6 should pull away ...when you reach 100MPH you should have about 6 - 7 car lengths on it ...and from 125 onwards the turbo doean't really count so the 2.9 has all the grunt. Although, don't try & race one on wet twisty tarmac ...keep it for the Motorways
  19. I haven't seen those pics before either ...looking at them ...I'd say they should change those door handles & I'm not sure about that sunroof either

    ZYMOL Wax

The next polish I'll be gettin is this stuff http://www.5starshine.com. If your car is over a year old you need to remove any residue, wax & polish etc. before starting. The polish then uses a positive & negative charge to attach itself to the actual paint. Its supposed to last for five years  . The US Navy use this stuff to protect their radar equipment from the sea air ...so it can't be bad Just have to save up for it now :)
  21. jedigtr, Hi m8 & welcome to the forum ...as you can see we appreciate any good car ...not just the Corrado 8) You should get all the help you need on here :)

    Tinting lights.

Good job there James, they look 1st class 8) Regarding what paint to use ...I was advised to the best thing to use after sanding the lights is; 1k plastic primer followed by 2k laquer with a few drops of your chosen colour mixed in. Thats how its done in 'car body shops'. The paints are not cheap but, 1 it stays on, 2 it is extremely durable & 3 its nice'n'shiny. (...not much good to anyone working on a budget or hasn't got use of spraying facilities)
  23. 'The diff and fitting kit is about £600' Is that direct from Quaife?
  24. Yes Joe ...you're getting exactly what I would have gone for ...Quaife diff 'oh yes' ...if its good enough for the RS Focus it should be very 8) How much for the diff btw?
  25. Anyone know if it is possible to use a 2nd hand charger from another car already on the market. Mercedes have a 2.0L supercharged coupe out there now. I'm sure if Mercedes use it in their production cars then, its probably bullet proof. Just thinking because maybe we could pick one up from a scrap yard
