  1. I'd be interested in knowing how to do this myself... I've also heard that when changing the disks, its also a good time to service your callipers.
  2. Looking at photo 'OKTOBER8.jpeg', I can see the wheels pretty well. Your car must look in showroom condition now. With the OE wheels & 50mm profile tyres the Koni coilovers are excellent in both performance & comfort, ... I found this out when I had my OE wheels on for a while (with the koni's) before getting my new 16's. I think you should still consider some smoked FK's, just to finish her off. The good think about them is they're easily changed back to the originals. Looking very cool m8
  3. You'll just have to take your list of VR6 checks with you & see for yourself. Thats the only way you can put a value on a car. I mean £5k is cheap for a mint VR & very expensive for a bad one, you just can't tell by an ad. Just remember when you go for a look, you are always in charge of the deal. Take it for a good test drive & get a feel for it. Take a very long & hard look at each panel, lift the carpet in the boot etc. Good luck anyway,
  4. I'll take the measurements this evening (b4 6 o'clock)

Good for you... 8) thats the nice thing about the forum... you can still log on nomatter where you are :)
  7. Ahhhh! so the 146 as in the quiet plane, suitable for City airports & short runways. It has a faster than normal approach speed & no reverse thrust yet stops very quickly due to its unique wing flaps. And there was me thinking your other car was an Alpha...
  8. Heres mine, fitted in 15 minutes... its really not difficult
  9. Do you know how much the add-on laser detector will cost?
  10. Majik, If I were you I'd get rid of the window washers & take the system from a Peugeot 405... they have the tube that jets the water out from the wipers. Maybe you should also consider getting rid of the roof rack strips
  11. pretty sure there will be the early interior on some(if not all)of the 92 SLC's......this maybe explains why there could be a bit of a price difference between a 92 SLC and a 93 SLC Thats right, I forgot about all the cosmetic changes  . But mechanically it should not give any more problems
  12. Mike The accelerator pedal does need some modification. You'll need to cut about 12mm off the length of the accelerator pedal. I used a jigsaw to do mine, the metal is quite soft so a hacksaw would do the job in about 10mins. Make sure you cut to the inside of the accelerator pedal as this will then leave a slightly wider gap between it & the brake pedal, which imo is better I bought mine from Awesome for £22.
  13. There's no obvious differences between a 92 & a newer SLC. The newer SLC's will be distributerless, not much else worth mentioning. So, don't worry about buying an older SLC
  14. The other advantage in having a Storm is that you know it was one of the last produced... & maybe there was a bit of extra care given to them from the little emotional workers :) I'd love a 'Storm' or 'Campain' but, I'm happy with what I've got
  15. Pretty impressive indeed... bet that rebuild wasn't cheap! btw, that guy from 'pumaracing' does seem to know his stuff.
  16. My brother has a ur-quattro sitting at the side of our house. His insurance quote was over £4000, so he had to park it... that was three years ago now! It is Tornado red & went pink after about two years, he then got it professionally polished & brought it back to perfect condition... that was a year ago & its turning pink again. He's had several cars since but, has no intention of selling the quattro. I think its an awefull waste but I'm fed up telling him.
  17. Cheers guys, DM, The steering wheel was on the car when I bought it. Yes, thank god, the paint is imaculate. The previous owner told me that he always kept his distance when travelling behind other vehicles to avoid stone chips. A good idea I thought, so I do it now as well :) . With a Corrado you can sit back from traffic & use the power of the car to overtake safely. Andycowuk, Sorry  ... you know what I mean  Bally, I don't have any pics of the front of the car. I used to have some but they were poor quality so I deleted them. I bought the eyebrow at the Irish GTi international last year at a stand for £15. I was told by another C owner that it was like the 'Reiger' one as it drops down slightly at each headlight. I'll try & get a pic so you can have a closer look.
  18. Very nice Owen, Looks like the previous owner really looked after it,,,. so you're gonna start with the number plate holder then!
  19. Looks good... nice 'n original (for now, eh) Your scirocco (in the background) looks sweet as well mate. Are you keeping it as well?

I'm from Donegal, living now in Strabane, N Ireland
  21. Cheers Sanjay, I got the TT pedals from Awesome, I think they cost about £22. The brake & clutch covers just slide over the c ones. I had to cut my accelerator pedal in order to slide on the TT cover. The front speaker pods come standard (not sure whats behind them) I cut the vinyl myself (used CAD machine). I tried so many different things with the lights but, now I'm really happy with them. I'll cut you some matt vinyl & send it to you if you like, (no charge) just p.m. me your postal address. The seats do have like a blue speckle in them which is quite cool.
  22. I've seen that mod & would advise against it too... 2p
  23. This post is almost 7yrs out of date now & there's been a few changes since, scroll down to see the 2010 version I've posted a few pics of my C in the past for different threads but now here is the finished article :D The car was first registered on May 12th (my Birthday :) ), in 1994 It has 88,754 miles on it today. I bought it in April '01, for £8,750 with 77,000 miles on it. The first thing I did when I got the car was to find a good VW garage & got them to check & repair any problems with the car professionally. I've since kept up the full VW service history with them. I'm lucky, cos my VW garage is very reasonable with parts & labour etc. They are also genuinely interested in the Corrado as a car. So, I guess they're not all bad. So the general idea/theme I had for the car was to keep it mechanically sound with a few minor cosmetic changes. The second thing I bought for the car was the number plate 'L30 VRG'. I tried to get 'L29 VRG' but it wasn't available :( . It cost £250 from the DVLA, to get it assigned to my car etc. Then I colour coded a few little pieces myself including the front eyebrow, the back Number plate surround, cam cover & the interior door-pull surrounds. All properly prepared with plastic primer & finished in Satin Silver :D The rest of the cars spec is like this, Koni coilovers (fully adjustable)[/*:m:f1b93] Powerflex rear bushes[/*:m:f1b93] 16 x 8" RS4 Alloy wheels[/*:m:f1b93] Jetex panel filter [/*:m:f1b93] Sony 10 disk boot changer[/*:m:f1b93] 6 x 9" 3-way 315Watt speakers (fitted to a spare parcel shelf) [/*:m:f1b93] TT pedals (inc dead pedal)[/*:m:f1b93] Anodised alloy aerial[/*:m:f1b93] Sports steering wheel[/*:m:f1b93] Polished manifold & oil cooler[/*:m:f1b93] Removed the OE bump strips, made & fitted my own [/*:m:f1b93] Ruby Red Rear light clusters[/*:m:f1b93] Clear side repeaters[/*:m:f1b93] Colour coded eyebrow [/*:m:f1b93] Up rated headlight loom[/*:m:f1b93] Angel Eyes headlights[/*:m:f1b93] Total closure 'Cobra' alarm[/*:m:f1b93] S5-R Laser / Radar detector (hard-wired)[/*:m:f1b93] Next things on the list is a powerflex front bush kit & some Lupo wipers [*]Groved & drilled Brake disks all round [*]Colour Coded Door Handles [*]RHZW1's 17 x 8" (et60) with 25mm adapters up front & 30mm OE adapters on the back [*]New tyres 17" x 205 x 45mm [*]New Door Striker Pins [*]Colour Coded Roof Strips [*]In.Pro Fog Lights & Indicators Most of these pics were taken at evening time...
