I think those wheels would really suit the Corrado. Good choice Kev 8)

Bowling sounds good, bowling & beer, mmmmm :) . Its far from hotels that I was rared but, me & her indoors should still be on our honeymoon period then, so I guess I'll have to splash out  A nice B&B is fine too
-
8) 8) I'll run it by the fiance this evening then

I can make you new ones that just stick over your originals. They usually consist of a matt black circle with a metalic silver VW logo.
-
If its arranged for late August or September I may be able to go as well. :D Its just a short ferry accross for me too. p.s. What about girlfriends?? (by then I'll have a wife  ) yes or no?

C'mon Jim, chin up m8, you're still part of this community :) (you know more about c's than I do)
-
vondribbley, I've already ordered two new ones at €59 a piece, so I can't go into a group buy :( iceman, Regarding closing off the trench which holds the strips. If you're in the process of welding anyway, you should give it some consideration. Prise the strip from the back and it will just lift out towards the front. TIP. Anyone who is getting their car sprayed should also take the strips out beforehand.

I check the PVW every month to see if there's a corrado in it, if so then I buy it. simple as that. Looking forward to this months then :D

Ok heres the scoop, When I called to collect my new strips from the dealer I was a bit dissapointed (to say the least). The fella in the parts counter had ordered two pieces of double sided tape that run accross the top of the windscreen  . Turns out, the strips do indeed come in one piece and cost €59 each. Sorry about that everyone

I saw a product called 'Boost' in a car accessory shop last week. It is made by the same company that makes those 'ecotek' in-line fuel filters. I didn't look to long at it as I thought it was just a gimmick, I think you spray the foam in through the air intake and the engine sucks it in. Apparently it removes all the carbon deposits within the engine making it more efficient. Could this br true??

Over the weekend I removed the silver strips from my light cluster and tried something different. :) What ya think? I DIDN'T LIKE EM, IN FACT I HATED THEM SO MUCH I'VE DELETED THEM.

Cheers guys, Maybe I'm being too harsh on the 40's, I blame them for the poor ride quality and for bending my rim. :) The thing is, I don't know if the extra 5mm in the profile would make any difference to either of these problems?
-
This is to anyone running on 17" wheels. I have a set of 17's (35mm ET) fitted to my VR6 with 40mm profile tyres. My personal opinion is that the ride is a bit hard, not to mention the fact that I've already had to replace a bent rim. :x When I got the wheels originally, the tyre bloke told me that a 45 profile would not fit. I didn't argue with him at the time but, now I'd like a second opinion. I also have koni coilovers fitted since then but, don't mind raising the ride a little if thats all it takes... Basicially is there anyone running 17's on a 45mm profile, if so what width are your tyres i.e. 195, 205 or 215. As I will be getting 4 new tyres shortly, you're 2p's worth will be greatly appreciated... :D

I can do them for you :D You tell me the colour you want and the diameter of your centre's. Send me your name & address, £5.00 and I can post them out to you.

Here, here I'm not a mechanic so, I tend to follow the trends. The trend for upgrading the VR6 always seem to be in favour of the charger. I thought the supercharger was the best option due to its easy fitment but I'm now hearing it will also need an uprated intercooler and re-chipping! Maybe going for the supercharger option is a bit of a false economy?

I know there's one in Karmann's factory but, I was wondering how many of the cabrio's were made?
-
Very, vary nice Lee, great quality pics too. Is that a stainless round tail pipe sticking out the back? 8) Clear side repeaters, good move as well :) .

There's big big variences in the prices for VR6's. I've seen '94 ones range between 11k down to one advertised last week for 2.6k. I suppose it depends on the buyer. If someone just wants 'cheap power', he's not going to be fussy on the rest of the car. It is disheartining to see VR6's advertised for so little when I paid 8.5k for mine. However I wanted a good one and had to pay the asking price. I tend not to pay too much attention to today's prices for c's as it would only frustrate me. :x If your car is as good as you say and I wanted it, then I'd pay the 9k.(after a bit of haggling of course). The supercharged C sounds to good to be true.... 'I'll have that as well please' :D
-
Thanks guys, I suppose if it was so easy we'd all have it done by now. :) So supercharger causes 'pinking' and 'overheating', didn't know that... I was lead to beleive from reading the web sites that, the latest charger kits were just bolt on in four hours and thats it! :?: How are these other related problems overcome and are there any more little niggles that we should know about before buying a charger kit?

Hi Scott, Its easy to get tempted with a newer car, I think its because all new cars have lots of gizmos that come standard to tease you. They also have fashionable looks and features, the problem is, fashon goes out of style very quick. I had a test drive in one of those Hundai coupes a few weeks ago (they have a garage next to my vw garage) when I got my c serviced. I thought it was an ok car in build quality and the performance (136bhp) also reminded me on my old 16v C. However if you try and imagine one of these cars in a few years time, I don't think they'll quite 'cut the mustard' in comparison to a Corrado. imo nothing looks as dated on the road now-a-days as a '94 Celica. The Corrado in the other hand just ousses quality and, 'quality never goes out of fashon'. :D Just my biased opinion...

No worries, :) It took me a while in fact, I'm still not confident on posting pics.

Hi Buddah, 'How you do'in' :D. Welcome to the forum, you're right there is a friendly bunch here. 8) A problem may beat you but, it won't beat all of us.
-
:D :D I hear ya... My girlfriend can't understand how the Corrado is such a good car when, I spend all my spare time working at it.
-
Well done Kev, After all the hours of cursing :x there's a certain satisfaction you get, when a job like that all comes together. :)

What 'ya think, Sounds good eh? 8) I was wondering? :?: Is the new R32 engine basicially similiar to the 2.9? :?: is it possible to bore the 2.9 out to 3.2 :?: If it was possible, could you use some parts from the new engine i.e. rings and pistons to do the job? :?: what sort of power increases could you expect? (my guess, 240bhp & 235lb) :?: Who could do this mod? (I'd say, PD Motorsport, SNS tunning, Awesome, BBM) :?: How much would it cost? (approx., £1000) :?: Has anyone out there done this or anything similiar i.e. 1.8 to 2.0? (my guess, yes :D ) You don't have to be an expert just, can 'ya think of any other possibilities, problems, advantages or dis-advantages etc...?
