  1. no I dont, but I wish I had. :( Its got a 30 day warranty from the garage I bought it from so they'll be getting the bill no matter what. Would an O2 sensor cause all those lights to come on? Refuses to idle when start and dies after a few seconds.
  2. Addition Exhaust emissions warning light is on too now. Its like a little disco on my dash. 3 warning lights so far....... wondering if I can get any more.
  3. Well I think I've killed it. Engine management light and Traction Control System lights are staying on permanently. I knew my heavy foot would be the undoing of it! Gutted..... Booked into VW next Monday due to the usual "Oh, we're really busy, blah, blah, blah" I just run around in my broken car for a week then. Good excuse to use the Corrado me thinks. T.
  4. Oh yes!! Field + Snow + Bora = Oh what fun! Loving the beast, shame about fuel comsumption. T.
  5. Bleed the master and the ABS pump. It will take a few goes. I suggest buying plenty of brake fluid. Its a nightmare. I have heard comments about pressure bleeding helps alot. T.
  6. Not at the minute. Need to calm myself down for a while and then make some sensible decisions. I got the bora for silly money. Much less than equivalent golf's and much less common. Plus, it has a bit of a stealth factor to it. Already seen a few shocked faces and a red bora barrels past them at a vast rate of knots. P.S. Hope the door is of use.
  7. Picked up the 4motion yesterday, drove it for about half an hour down the motorway then had to leave to go to the rugby, leaving the beast behind. Today has been the real test of it. First comments are, its doesn't feel like its going that hard cos the engine is sooo quiet and smooth. But, you look down at the speedo or the face of your passenger and think.....bloody hell I need to slow down here. The engine is very different to the corrado. Loads of low down torque. If you blow on the accellerator its off like a bullet. Its quite difficult to drive around slowly and smoothly. It just wants to go all the time. Haven't even touch on the handling. Oh my god......without swearing its sublime. So much grip. Taking corners at speeds I would have never dreamed of. You can just sink the throttle going round corners and it just laps them up. Wheel spin.....whats that?? Cos it dont have any. Waiting for a nice rainy day now so I can have some real fun. Its a real nice ride too. And then comes fuel econemy. There's always a price to pay for fun. I dont think it will be any worse than the Corrado. I drove about in that for about 2 years solid so I think my wallet can handle the pace, especially as I make much more money now and I've just had a rather nice pay rise. Well I'm chuffed to bits and recommend some 4motion action to you all. Simon
  8. Must admit it doesn't have all the extras I would like but who cares. Might just have to sort it out today. Life is too short.......very good point! CHeers guys, you've me make up my mind. Not that it took much persuading I might add. I'll keep you updated. Simon
  9. Will dropping the revs not put more strain on the engine?? especially at those high speeds. Why do you want to lower the revs?? fuel comsumption or just for wear and tear? T.
  10. You're a very naughty boy! Whats the registration of the car?
  11. My bora's done 88k miles. I do love the tdi but I really want a 4motion. Might not keep up too long. Just trying to work through my list of cars I must own! T. Wish I had 10k to spend. Would have to sell the vr for that too. :(

  13. Yes keep going to are convincing me now!! :) T.
  14. MMMmmmm........ The engine is very nice. Shame the winter is nearly over. T.
  15. Got a nightmare dilema...... Found a nice bora 4mtion which I've been looking for for ages. Only done 58k miles which is good. Mint condition, red metallic which is nice. Does have cream leather interior (not as bad as I thought). Resonably priced. If I trade my Bora TDI in I gonna get 5k which is brilliant. Only paid slighty more for it 6 months ago. Just cant decide what to do and whether I can handle mpg of the 4motion. Drive 50 miles to work each day but its straight down the motorway. Help me, really want to move into 4wd and this is a more sensible option than a subaru. T.
  16. Yes, easy peasy!! Take off plastic covers on engine. Spline tools required or allen keys if you dont have them. Undo the coilpack and move out of the way. CPS is just above coilpack on right hand side of engine. There is one allen bolt holding it in place. Undo that and wiggle the sensor free from its hole. They put the new one in. Happy Days......job done. T.
  17. When i sounds like a potential CPS failure to me. Mine did the exact same thing. T.
  18. Get the CPS changed. Only about £30 from VW. Can take about 30 bhp from the engine and can be an intermittant problem. Does the car sometimes go like a train then other times is a pile of rubbish?? T.
  19. Timo.

    Rear brakes

Use a big screw driver, lie down at the back on the car and lever up where the hand brake cable lever is. T.
  20. Daylight Robbery........... I would go for genuine.
