    is it sh***ed?

black one is the signal wire for the lambda probe. In other words its fecked. The two white ones are the power supply to heat the probe up. Time for a new probe, the performance wont be too bad as the ECU just uses a pre-stored value to ensure the engine still runs. T.
  2. Oh, I like the sound of that. I have also thought about RICA. As my Dad is wanting to get his V70R AWD chipped and I want my Bora done they are bound to give some discount for 2 cars. 310bhp for him  , 180 bhp for me  T.
  3. bit far away mate. Heard some good things about 'tunit' boxes on mkiv forum. Only gives 155hp though. Its just not enough is it! Might go with Star Peformance in kirkcaldy, not cheap at £600 bucks :( T.
  4. where can I get one of them? T.
  5. As title, just purchased a nice bora tdi and want it chipped. Any recommedations?? cheers T.
  6. fuse 14 is the fuse for the electric windows. By the way never take any notice of the manual or the table thats on the fuse cover as to what fuse is which because often they dont match up and will have you scratching you head for weeks T.
  7. cos they do!! Its the corrados great wiring. Its a sort of built in conveyence thing. Pull the fuse out and try yourself. T.
  8. Fuse 14 mate, change it cos its blown! (think its 14) Had the smae with my corrado about 4 weeks ago Do you electric mirrors still work out of interest? T.
  9. They get better with time, I wasn't impressed to start off with. Mind you, I had brand new discs but it still took a while for them to get really good. I have standard pads and now metal brake hoses. I would say they are a little spongey at the start of the brake pedal, but boy do they come on strong not long after that! No regrets at all. I've had standard, 288 then the 312mm. Plus they look fecking huge!! :) T.
  10. I dont drive that car at the minute. Its in storage. T.
  11. Seems to be working alright :) Need to get the part ordered asap T.
  12. The T peice thats just below the power steering resevoir has got a big crack in it. Finally found the cause of my power steering leak. JUst thought the pipes weren't tight enough. Just been messing about with it them splatter, PS fluid onto the gravel, me thinking, oh dear, got a 144 mile journey in 3 hours what the smeg am I going to do now?!! Got it all apart, glued the T-piece with some bad ass glue and bound it with some thread for extra strength. Thing is, will it hold and how much pressure is in the PS system? T.
  13. They are based in Kirkcaldy.
  14. yup had mine done, makes it soooo smooth. Not really much more powerful, but it changes the engine into something more usuable. Cost me £250, got it done by Star Performance in Scotland, bit out of you way! You should tell the insurance company, but how can they tell?!!? Chip is hidden away inside the ECU. T.
  15. Check it out http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum ... .php?75292 Sooo tempted again, but I need the money for diesel power  T.
  16. DO IT, you'll not regret moving up to the 312mm. Mine have nicely bedded in now and you can force your eyeballs out of the sockets by stamping on the brakes. It almosts hurts sometimes! makes the ABS work overtime too.... T.

    Weird windows

Got the bentley manual out this morning and tested all the wiring to the mirrors. Power is gettting to the electric mirror switched for powering both the illumination of the switch and for powering the motors. But no power goes from that switch no matter what I try. So I guessing the switch is duff. I've also checked all the earth wires for continuity and there's no problem there either. Any more ideas apart from the switch? Ebay here I come! T.

    Weird windows

yup, that feature is handy. Electrics must be slighty cowboy-ish, if when the fuse for the electric windows blows, so they dont work when you're in the car, but yet still work when the door is open! :) T.
  19. Sorry about that, didn't really read the rest of the posts. It has been a while, dont get much chance these days to get on here and post. Too busy developing myself into Robocop. 8) Training hard on my new career at the minute :? PC T.

    Weird windows

MMmmm...... not convinced. I shall perhaps try dismantling the mirrors to see if the wiring has corroded. Bloody annoying so it is. A month ago everything was working spot on. I hate it when stuff dont work and I cant figure it out. Does my head in. Plus, I dont have the time at the minute to do anything about it. Cheers T.
  21. yup, sure do. I've tested mine before to check it was behaving itself. T.

    Weird windows

Yup, it was the fuse. It keeps occasionally blowing the fuse but I cant see what the problem is. The woring is in tip top condition. Funnily, the electric mirrors dont work anymore, cant find anymore blown fuses. Any ideas for them? Simon
