Yeah, I've seen the ones on GSF's website. £2.50 each doesn't sound too bad.

I've been looking about for bronze valve guides for my VR6, but any searches I do on the interweb just bring up pages with specs of other people's cars! Can anyone help me out? Cheers! :)
-
Cheers mate, I'll let my dad know.

My old man's looking for a part number for a Mk2 Golf door membrane. He's been to the stealers, but they can't find anything (surprise surprise). Can anyone help him out? Cheers! :)

My plan is to rebuild the engine and get the bodywork tarted up so that I can (hopefully) enjoy the car for another 10 years! :)
-
Indeed!
-
Right, finally managed to get a picture of my mates' car! Could someone do the business with this please? Cheers! :)
-
I'll see if he's got one. Failing that, I'll have a wee trawl on the internet... Cheers mate!

'Tis black!

My mate has a black Mk4 GTI and is toying with the idea of replacing the silver VW badge on the front with a black one. I'm not too convinced, because I think you need a contrast of colours for this to look good. However, in the interests of science, does anyone have a picture of this combo or have a picture they could photoshop? Many thanks! :)

You weren't joking! I was screwing away for ages! Sorry for the delay, but thanks for the help guys.

I'm changing the rear brakes on my VR at the moment, and I need a bit of advice.. To get the piston back into the caliper, all I need to do is wind it back in with one of those tool things, right? I've been doing this for a while and it doesn't seem to be moving, should I be doing something else? Many thanks.

Can you not still get Bridgestone RE720s on mytyres? I've heard the T1-Rs are meant to be better than the T1-S in the wet...
-
I've never been so offended in my life! :) Might try the Bridgestone RE720s when the Toyos wear out, only ever heard good things about them...
-
I've always thought the Toyos were quite good in the wet!
-
Hmm...interesting! I've just gone for my second set of Toyo T1-S for the front of my VR, as I have to say I've been very impressed. Maybe there are better tyres out there, but I'd hate to give another tyre a go, only to be disappointed and stuck with them for nearly a year...

Spotted a silver VR6 at the weekend near junction 2 of the M6, registration L*** BGV. I was the guy rubbernecking from the passenger's seat of the red Poogoat 205! :)

Well I collected the Brembos from GSF this morning, as ECP's £52 for a pair of discs somehow translated in £79 including VAT! GSF charged me £61.10 in total for the pair, which is what I was expecting. Is it just me, or do the prices on the ECP website bear no resemblance whatsoever to their actual prices?
-
Well, I've decided to go with the Brembos. One reason being that GSF in Glasgow are only about 5mins from my flat, hence no postage costs! :) Already got Pagid FR pads on the front, so should be able to notice any difference between the Brembo discs and the ATE ones that are coming off. Thanks again.
-
Yeah, everything's standard. Reckon the decision's going to come down to which company has the cheapest postage! :) Cheers.
-
I need new front brake discs for my VR and noticed that GSF do Brembo ones for £26, the same price as ATE ones at ECP. Which discs should I get? Are the Brembos better than the ATE ones? Many thanks.

I reckon they're aiming to steal sales away from the Ferrari 612. I don't like it personally, although the back of the car in the second picture does look very 'old skool' Porsche, don't you think?
-
Nah, got a cheapo one. Haven't had any problems with it before, but I think one of my mates has been switching memory cards between slots for different games...
