I was playing football at the Firhill Complex in Glasgow last night & saw a black Rado in the car park on my way out. Registration was M*** UKW. Anybody on here?

My pet hate is people who speed in town. There'll be a car quite some distance away in my rear view mirror & they just gradually (or sometimes not so gradually!) close the gap...does my tits in, I tell thee! I sometimes feel like I'm the only driver on the road who doesn't do it. :x

I went out for a random drive a couple of months ago with one of my mates & ended up sitting next to a beaten up Escort at some traffic lights before the Kincardine Bridge (for those of you that know it!). The driver was doing the whole rocking the car backwards & forwards thing, so I looked over expecting to see a ned (Scottish chav) only to see a middle aged woman! Didn't think any more of it, but when the lights turned amber she went wheelspinning away & all I could do was watch her go in disbelief! To top it all off, she pulled out in front of me on the motorway a couple of miles down the road when I was about halfway alongside her car! :mad:

Saw a black J reg Corrado at the Springkerse Shell station in Stirling today just after 4...anybody here?

Its weird, isn't it? They feel flat until about 4000rpm, then they just seem to 'lighten up' & THEN you feel like you're moving!

Best MPG I ever got out of my VR was 41.6! Check it out!

Came back from a holiday abroad last year to find the grille on my Corrado missing. Felt violated because I didn't know what else the thieving gypos had been at! :)

After reading all of the posts on that forum, I'm really thankful for our one! What a pleasant bunch of harmonious people we are! :)

Hi there, There's a little sludge coming out of the hose on the back of the breather section (the bit on the far left) on my cylinder head cover. Does anyone know what's in there?! :) Is it a changeable gauze or something? Just to let you know, don't have any problems as far as overheating, water & oil usage is concerned, so assuming no head gasket problems. Also looks clean under the oil filler cap. Cheers.

Hi there, Are all VW hydraulic tappets the same? Found someone selling hydraulic tappets for a 1.6 MK2 Golf, would they fit a Corrado VR6? Cheers! :)

Hi there, Just a quick question...will a gearbox from a 1999 Mk4 Golf TDI fit a Corrado VR6? Vaguely remember something about the bell housings being different, but thought I'd double check! :) Cheers.

I've managed to find a VR6 4WD gearbox, but I'm not sure how much work or what is involved in converting! :) As much info as possible would be great. Cheers.

I know, but I had a Mk2 Golf GTI a few years ago with a blocked engine breather and it was the same. Just a thought, don't want to replace things unnecessarily... :)

Hi there, Every now and again, I get little puffs of blue smoke from the exhaust on my VR, usually when accelerating after the engine has been on overrun. I posted a topic on the forum a while ago and it was suggested the valve stem oil seals might be the problem. Before I start taking the engine to bits though, I thought I'd throw this out there... :) I'm told the little block on the left hand side of the rocker cover is a breather section. There seems to be yellowy sludge seeping out of the hose that comes out the back of this thing and I was just wondering if this could cause the blue smoke as well. Ta very muchly!

Is the breather section of the rocker cover that alloy block thingy on the far left hand side of the engine? Most of the noise seems to come from there...

There shouldn't be anything in the belt area making a noise. In the past month I've had to replace the belt tensioner (read the post on changing the pulley bearings a week too late!) , the belt itself and the water pump. I'd agree with kebabman about the almost 'diesely' noise the engine makes when its cold. This is my first VR6, not used to what's normal and what isn't yet! :) Cheers for the advice everyone...
