  1. 8) 8) 8) just got mine wired in and it sounds so good for such a small unit. i'll add pics soon *booooommmmmmmm* goes the bass 8)
  2. Just been messing with a plynth and some fixing ideas tonight... should be going in tomorrow...in the upright position. 8)
  3. just thought i'd throw this into the mix.............just tried my LED's on the 9v battery to see if they still worked after being ripped out of the casing...and the worked both ways...i.e the polarity didnt matter??? should be finished by tomorrow though then we'll see what they look like in the car.
  4. you still building your car then? is that an engine mount of some kind?
  5. so your not going ahead with the ultra violet leds?
  6. chap  , sorry i amuse easily. i got it from a local motor factors. the exact name is on the website, the hyraulic lifter stuff....mine is quite now but i cant say if its the stuff i used or not??? fickel things are this VR6 beasts!!! http://www.wynns.uk.com/default.htm?page=30 its the stuff at the bottom
  7. they look great....untill you use your foglights again...and then the cracks will appear!
  8. well i havent listened to it myself...maybe i'll get round to hearing it sometime?? im suprised at the sudden change of tune with the chain tensioners...... i have read other posts about the noise being a problem when they go...but not having to worry about it doing any other damage... and yet now your all saying that it needs doing NOW or the engine will be a pile of bent metal makes me start to worry about mine
  9. so is it relatively cheap to check if the tensioner is shot?? not replace...just check it.
  10. why?? i understood the tensioner was just a noise issue and would not damage the engine??
  11. update, i told him to listen to the engie with the bonet open and with the car at about 2500 rpm and he said the noise sounds more metaly now and it from the top part of the engine... probably tappets or chain.
  12. this is for a mate with a 96 vr6........he is scared of using the forum cause he thinks it sgay...or something like that anyway the car as done about 140k now and has been serviced regularly. over the past 2 weeks there has been a strange noise sounding like the car is actually working harder than the rev counter is indicating. it hasnt made the car any slower....just making a droaning noise around 2000rpm and upwards Now i have told him the usual stuf about chain tensioners and clutch bearings etc...but is there anything else it could be?? thanks (on behalf of john cook)
  13. hey, did you also know its illegal to go over the speed limit     dont worry kvwloon, its a good point but sometimes you just have to bend the rules a little in the name of style! Mind you...if you manage to get LED's that are E approved then i think its all ok??

is it a job that can be done at the same time as a clutch? would that make it easier / cheaper?

Welcome. upgrade the headlight loom and bulbs...that will enable you to see again! 16"s look good and handle really well. offset depends on width, standard VR6 offset is high...ET 46. An ET in the mid 30's should be fine though if you go for a 16x7 inch wheel dont worry about the suspension not being as 'cutting edge' as the pug. i have pushed the c pretty hard and it has never miss behaved and im coming from a CRX 'go-kart' handling!! If you really want to improve the suspension put a rear ARB on. nuspeed do a good one for about £150...really sorts things out!! have fun driving!!! 8)
  18. unfortunately i dont think its going to be a case of *if we dont go they will lower the price again* because (as kev pointed out) the vr6 is small fry now...they moved onto bigger and better things. :(
  19. H100VW, so your saying when you have your diped beam on, your side lights are not on??? :?
  20. yeah, first click is the side lights...and is really dull and orange (well untill you fit a set of LED's like mine then you get a blueish white light, but its still not a high light output) the second click is your diped beam, then when you pull the indicator stalk back, thats high beam! the side lights aren't really used for much apart from your parking light (when you turn engine off and push indicator stalk to the left or right position)
  21. ah thats where i had seen it...i was quoting your figures from memory  thats a hell of a loss!!! but agrees it is slightly off topic
  22. so are there any other companies around that will do just a good a job as AmD...for the price AmD used to charge?? vr6storm has had the chip done, i wonder if he would say its still worth it even at the extra price?
  23. IIRC the fogs are H3 bulbs and they could do with a loom and some better bulbs.....but if you use them all the time like i did, your lenses will crack. its a flaw (another one) with the corrado!! im wondering if my loom still isnt giving me enough light to my diped beam?? i can see on the road when i turn my fogs on and off. i used the 'ring' loom and bosch super blue bulbs. stormseeker, you messed around with your looms a bit, did you end up using the ring stuff for the dipped??
  24. the corrado would loose more than 20-30bhp through the drive train..i have seen a dyno plot of a vr6 push 194bhp at the fly but about 150bhp at the wheels!!! or did i grab the wrong end of the stick!? BB guns are cool...i had a webley for ages but sold it.
