i think the best way to look at it is to think of it as an easier mk2 golf vr6 conversion { which has been covered alot on mk2vr6.com }, the electrics will be plug n play so its no big deal realy, just decide on wether or not you want to retain 4stud or complete swap to 5stud, http://mk2vr6.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3335 and yea if your bodys good it makes complete sense to do this, have you thought about going 24v though? the 24v 2.8 AUE motor and wireing an ecu can be had for very little moneys although getting the wireing to be plug n play is alot harder.

agreed!!!. i hate seeing threads like this ,especialy when you see people breaking because of a few rust scabs or the paint aint perfect, -
Damn , seems like this is the week for modified engine looms ;) , apparentley mine is finnaly going to be finished this week too! although mines for the 2.8 BDE not 3.2 , one day though ;) realy cant wait to start stripping the front of my corrado down , just got to finish tidying up an audi A3 , so i recon next week should be conversion week for me!

£400.00 damn!, i would deffo get a price on a second hand one, atleast you can easily clean it up and paint it yourself or have it blasted and powder coated for alot less then £400.00
-
yea tell me about, i dont know if its the same for you guys in the uk but now if we post something that isnt listed as a gift we have to pay VAT on its sold value, thinks thats an absolute JOKE! that they are makeing money on our personal belongings!
-
i was gona say it might have something to do with your tyres/wheels,
-
the channel islands were vat free up untill recently. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2117961/Closure-Channel-Islands-VAT-loophole-force-DVD-prices.html

jack it up on that side so the wheel is off the ground, grab the wheel at both sides {i.e at 9 oclock and 3 oclock positions} and rock it back and forth and try to identify where the play/movemnt is comming from, you might want to get someone else to do that while you look for the play.

because im from guersney i had vat removed, got them from deemon tweeks on ebay, think i got them for £400.00 or just over delivered, there ok and yea they are made by KW it has the kw logo on the box, iv only ever had lowering springs so i cant compare the ride against anything else but there not as stiff as a i was expecting, you cant realy accuratley adjust them off the car, just do one side at a time and slowley lower it with the jack and then if you want it higher just take up the wieght with the jack and turn them up by hand and then with the tool supplied if it gets stiff.

lol you got me ;) iv been collecting these for awhile now so i can put the prices up!. but theres corrados being broken up all the time so i cant see why it would be hard to find one second hand.. ebay "corrado breaking" message seller for front subframe. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-corrado-breaking-for-spares-/170867231586?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c87b0b62

sounds like your very lucky to not have had an accident, you aint in xxxx creek , theres plenty of second hand ones available, check out the for sale section or post up in the wanted section..
-
yea i had that, prety sure its just a case of removeing both topmounts at the same time so both ends of the axle drop down together, the hardest part for me was actualy removeing the bolts ,mine were so blady rusty! FresH
-
i smoothed out my fogs and indicators, its prety easy to do DIY , you just need to clean off the paint and plastic weld new plastic inplace with a soldering iron, you do it a few mm below the finished surface so filler can be used to get everything level, make everything rough for better adhesion.
-
paint and body look good to me in the pics ;) couldnt help but think your money would be better off going else where, imo theres only two downsides about havein fresh paint, your constantley paranoid about where it goes , or maybe thats just me? also once its done you are prety much stuck with that car unless you dont mind looseing out on money, the prices that vr's are going for are prety insane , if a vr's what you want i suggest you go and try one before splashing out anymore money otherwise its allways gona play on your mind later on...
-
is your car lowered by much? , keep us posted on its progress,
-
hi , i think iv got one, ill check for you tomo ....
-
looks awesome! congrats on the trophy , car looks alot better without that bra
-
when i first did mine, they were fine and then came loose so i tightend them back up, think they just need to be set in properly and then re adjusted {after a certain amount of miles from fitting} , im guessing if there not re adjusted with in a certain amount of time the play will wear them out fast! which is probably why ppl have problems with them, the only problem iv got with mine now is a slighlty wavey disc which rubs abit , its not bad though..
-
agreed, far to many ppl takeing risks with animals these days
-
hahah @ 0.37 and the rest is blady hilarious too
-
i wouldnt say theres no real gains , sealed cartridge bearings are far better , which is why there put up front to handle turns and the extra weight , tighten them up and you forget about them untill there worn, i know which one idd rather have, besides im 99% sure the sealed bearings will last alot longer then tapered not to mention once the conversions done its done for good not just a weekend, i helped my friend replace his rear bearings on a 96 renault clio the other day i was blady shocked to find out they had sealed bearings on the rear!! has a very similar setup to the C where the bearings go into the disc, but didnt expect that on a blady clio of all cars
-
dedication right there, keep it up ..
-
cheers for that, ill have a proper butchers later, i like this method http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=22683&hl=rear+axle very tidey
-
cool, my corrados a vr6 so its 5x100 same as mk4 golf 2.0 , didnt know the rear bearings were integrated? ebay searched mk4 golf rear wheel bearing and you can buy them seperate. but i just read a thread from 2006 and apparently the caliper carrier bolt holes arent present on the mk4 stub axle as they are on the corrado stub axle, so thinking around this idd have to make a plate with the caliper carrier bolt holes that goes inbetween the stub axle and the main axle assembley to secure the caliper carrier inplace, but appaerently the stub axle from a 2005 polo has the carrier bolt holes on the stub axle?
