  1. last time i spilt abit of oil i used brake cleaner and a brush, but i think your best bet would be to go and buy a 5 litre tin of degreaser something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-L-LITRE-PARTS-WASH-SOLVENT-DEGREASER-WASHER-FLUID-/350336948685?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item5191b599cd or jizer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Swarfega-Jizer-5-Litre-Degreaser-/190629372015?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c6265606f and a stiff brush! with plenty of paper towels or raggs! good luck its a b1tch!
  2. seems like you found the culprit, i wouldnt worry about leaks from the windscreen, those seals and trims are there just to fill the gap and make it look neat, the screens actualy glued in.
  3. does the mk4 engine loom need to be spliced into the corrado loom? or is the mk4 loom plug and play with the corrado? cheers..
  4. haha noway! how was it? prety good condition? yea i guess it all adds up, when you buy a car its prety rare that you wouldnt spend anything extra on it.
  5. thanks rusty, lol thinki'll pass on doing your cars ;) finnaly got it out the shed for the first time in months! let it get up to temp then brought it back inside .. was abit smokey had water dripping from the exahaust, all died down when it got up to temp, still need to do some little touchs but atleast i can drive it :)
  6. there was that storm 24v which was done by psi tuneing which went for £2700 i think on ebay, but at the end of the day its only worth what someone is willing to pay! it looks good though! i recon £3500! and yes the title is very misleading! i also thought it meant a 4 wheel drive corrado! so dont put that in your forsale advert! your get alot of attention for all the wrong reasons
  7. dont know the price of the rad your paying for but check this place out! £110! its a good fit aswell as a friend brought one. http://www.northernradiators.co.uk/index:search.html edit: lol never mind just realised your location...
  8. very productive evening !! thanks to a handy friend we got the screen in last night, wasnt easy but it wasnt hard, its a case of measure twice cut once , also thanks to trickygti for getting the looms back through the tailgate and getting them all wired up and all working correctly.was realy nice to have other people helpin get these little bits done! its almost there!! just need another tube of window adhesive for the quarter window,
  9. fitted this tonight with the help of a very handy friend, went realy realy well!!! step 1 :- prime ceramic black out band on screen and area on the lip on the car 2 :- assemble screen with trims and top seal 3 :- put screen in rough position useing suction pads, [in dry with no adhesive!] 4 :- adjust screen into position useing adjustment wedges from vw, makeing sure wedges stay put once the screen is located in position, 5 :- remove screen and apply adhesive in the V shape around perimeter of screen or car at a height of 13mm 6 :-position screen in and up against your set wedges, and make your final adjustments with the screen makeing sure the screen stays the correct height/depth all the way around!! and your done! i'll post up pics to my thread tomo! so glad we did this , was deffinatley not worth me paying £150!! think it took us around an hour and a half but we were takeing our time makeing sure it all fitted right and £12 for the screen adhesive kit....
  10. Yea m8 theres so many products out there, dont think you can go to far wrong with any popular brand though, good luck..
  11. ahh so wish i would of brought them now :( i wanted those but didnt want the price,so i got them individualy, how much room have you got for the sender? was it a tight squeeze?
  12. thanks bud, another week and it should be driveable still loads of niggley bits to do but motivation is hiiiigh!! so its getting done! :) cant blady wait!!
  13. gave the old rear bumper a buff up also fitted it with new bolts from vw also fitted the rear tail lights, so happy with how its looking! my new bits which came to roughly £320!! with discount! audi tt wipers n blades, roof mouldings, scutle tray moulding thingy, various bolts, windscreen trim peices and seal, bootlid hinge seal's, windscreen wedges and probably more iv missed, some of these pics were taken with an actual camera and not a phone so may look a little different i can safely say it looks better in flesh!!
  14. looking good! you must be itching so bad to drive it! i couldnt wait that long....
  15. check the maf connection plug, unplug it and spray wd-40 or other water/moisture displacer in there, when i got my vr6 the previous owner mentioned it never ran right and had an idle problem, how ever when i got it , it was ok! until i washed the bonnet and then it ran like crap and idled up n down, turns out the maf cable would allow water to run down it and into the plug! it sounds like yours is damp as its still driveable, when mine was flooded with water it will rev right up and then down then cut out and battery light will come on,
  16. tailgate and sun roof fitted! and the car is looking like a car again!! so happy! its almost there! think next week i may have to take out temp insurance! :) tailgate turned out Alwite! used cable tie offcuts to pack the seal up so the paint flows under the seal, still need to clean up the seal from the old previous paintjob though, also cavity waxed the inside corners, did these today! surprising easy! should have a backend photo tomo! those were straight after painting so a little buff tomo and they should look abit flatter, No windscreen rust hehe almost plain sailing from here....
  17. yea g-lads post is spot on, aslong as the bodywork is spot on with no rust, i wouldnt worry at all about the state of the mechanicals, they can be replaced over the weekend with a m8 and a cup of tea! part for part, and the price of second hand vr6 engines is prety damn cheap!! bodywork how ever is a different kettle of fish!,
  18. hi tim , which upol clear do you use? have you used either s2081 or s2080? was thinking about getting some awhile back as i can get upol stuff at trade price..those pics look amazing btw!
  19. Mot isnt a problem for me :) here in the channel islands we dont have it, all we need is insurance and our tax is added on to the fuel..
  20. it'll look prety bad a55 with those on!! is that laminex tint on the headlights? was gona do mine with that stuff,
  21. looks nice! proper black like! good job i love black :) more pics needed i think!
  22. cant m8 there the only ones on the island, living in guernsey has its benefits but windscreen replacement isnt one of them :(
  23. ah right thought idd be abit cheeky ;) i came across this windscreen and trim kit awhile back and remembered he was a screen fitter! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160722238439&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123i messaged him for tips and advice and he got back to me and prety much made it very clear on how to install the glass! blady nice chap! hes even given me his number if i get into dificulty! also says there robbing bsatrds wanting £150 for an already preped windscreen fitting..
