  1. nope no differance, use tar and glue remover, redfox sounds like your suspensions going to be so hard your car will shake itself to bits ;)
  2. i know thats what other people say, but everyones different! i know its easyer said then done but if you can get a cheap donour car or engine+conversion parts, subframe, ecu etc etc then why not? if your shell is in good condition and worth the effort idd say go for it! but if i had the money it would be the later 24v 2.8 but eitherway you cant beat the sound of a vr! as for your question sorry cant realy help you as iv never done a conversion,
  3. lol "its like a claw lol" haha, sound ill have a blady good butchers at somepoint this weekend,, thanks...
  4. thanks for the reply, what does the earth claw look like exactly? cheers,
  5. hi, can anybody shed some light onto my indicator problem please, its on my mk3 golf vr6 run around i brought the car with the problem attached, wasnt realy bothered by it, basicaly its got an intermitant problem works fine then stops! and basicaly i just worked out it stops every time i brake! or whilset the brake pedals down! it wont work! then when you release the pedal the indicator works again, strange? so its obviously got something to do with the brake pedal switch,,,, cheers p.s with the hazards on it makes no differance. ---------- Post added at 08:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:59 PM ---------- right according to google its a fairly common problem with other makes of cars, and the cause is a dodgey earth! anyone have a rough idea of where to check first? the reason i ask is because im an absolute R-tard when it comes to electrics, its just something iv never realy got into ...
  6. yea i can see from a labour point of view why it wouldnt be worth doing,im glad im tackiling this myself, and yea i also thought about washers cut in half in the shape of a C and then slide that between the hinge to take out the play but luckily it didnt come to that,if anyones handy with metal you could easily fab up a little press jigg specificly for this job, which is what i would of done if the balljoint splitter failed, the splittler i used had to be ground out for it to sitt right, but it wasnt perfect but it worked! if anybodys thinking about doing theres my advice is have a bench grinder and a bunch of G clamps and a scissor type ball joint splitter ready as they will need rounding off or bits removed to sitt better, also have the replacement pin and half hinge before you start as that will also motivate you to try harder knowing you got the parts ready! i must admit i was like fxxx! this aint working! but seeing as i took the trouble to remove the door i didnt give up easily/at all and its off! happy days! just waiting on the hinge from VW and then ill smooth out the paint and give it a little touch up{ in a none sexual way} :) part # for pin= 321 831 421 part# for hinge half= 321 831 403 VW still have these..
  7. yea cheers iv been putting it off awhile now, just cant belive vw would put it in such away thats its physicaly impossible to remove without damageing the paint.
  8. Well iv been putting this off now for a few months so today i actualy pulled my finger out! first off! abig %*^%$£!!!! to VW because i dont even think they designed there door with door pin maintenace in mind! you cannot even remove the pin without it digging into the door skin! the hinges were obviously pre assembled then welded onto the door in thee tightest space they could find!!,so no matter how carefull you are you will damage paint, also its very difficult to use a hammer and punch as you dont have a straight line at it, my top hing is fine but the bottom is realy worn, the door was saggy so much that it was scrapping the paint on the sill, i tryed with a hammer and punch with the door on the car and got no where! so off it came! sorry for the bad quality pics as i only have a phone camera, the idea was to press the hinge out but it only cracked the G clamp, its only a small one due to the space you cannot use anything bigger, then i thought AH!! ball joint splitter! it needed some grinding on the edges for a decent fit! but it worked! now this is what realy annoyed me,check out the angle on this! btw the pin only goes one way and thats the way im going.the pin is barely half out and its already fouling on the door skin! if i would of pushed the other way it would of hit the door skin square on,also one end has a taper and its the taper end your supposed to push out on, its almost out here but i had to carefuly punch the door skin slighty so the pin doesnt digg its way into the door skin as you can see if i would of pressed the pin out the otherway it would of just been blocked, got the pin out ok, need to order a new half hinge as its worn the old one aswell, well atleast its almost done!
  9. cheers erny, you got any pics? which model audi did you use on the corrado door? yea floppyman its crazy the price of them heres a link, theres noway im paying for that when the scarppy will do http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufacturer_product.php?manufacturer=Speedtech&category=Bodystyling&product=AudiHandles
  10. yea i saw those , venom have them there like £250 though :( iv seen on ebay A3 dooors going for like £30 each so i could just get the seller to cut them them up at extra cost if nessacery would still be cheaper then the kit, but its just figureing out how the lock is going to work as i dont want any after market remote central locking etc,
  11. hi, anyone here had audi door handles welded in?? realy thinking about doing it as both my doors idealy need re spraying so might aswell go that bit extra and update them handles at the same time, which model audi has the best suited handles? i like the smooth look of the A3 but dont know much about the lock mechanism etc so any advice on which ones or work involved to get the lock/handle working would be sweet!
  12. just come across this on youtube, its exactly the same car! lol so if anybodys interested in that r32 here it is,
  13. where abouts has it cracked? can you get a pic? and yea i would get it welded tbh for the hassel its worth, i was close to replaceing my subframe when i was replaceing my wishbones as the rear wishbone bolt sheared off but luckily i got it sorted with a drill and a tapp. took me like 6hours on my back with a drill, hungover on a sunday afternoon not fun :(
  14. gutted m8, iv come close to stupid things like that aswell but luckily iv been ok, yes you can replace the track rod without dropping the sub frame, you need to buy a track rod removal tool, or make one up, i think you could probably do it with the correct size crows foot spanner end with a socket extension,
  15. keep it!!! looks very well looked after!, if you have lost interest in it, maybe do something to it to get that interest back! wont take much...for me just putting the throttle down keeps me interested :)
  16. damn, the guy must be getting pxxxxd by now... if it was closer idd be tempted :)
  17. you can buy replacement hoses from vw, look on the hose itself should have a part number on it, just done mine on my golf run around with standard3/8" fuel pipe hose which cost around £3.00, it just connects further down by the filter box, piece of cake to replace aswell,
  18. there was an R32 storm on ebay recently, think it sold for £5000? theres aslo a nice looking 1.8turbo corrado on there atm, anyone know anything about ether of them?
  19. loveing that inlet manifold and engine cover,
  20. ill get some more pics up this week :)
  21. finnaly finished my bumper :) took a few weeks as i made a few skool boy errors and had to re do it a few times :( realy pleased with how its turned out, only have slight orange peel in places which im not wetsanding any of it!!and you cannot see any filler dents or ridges etc so im well chuffed about that, also got my hands on some borbet A's 9x16" which were spray canned matt white so i worked my magic with the Death Booth -..- preped and primed :) bascoat no clearcoat. clearcoat :) the wheels have been cleaned up since the pic above,There a perfect fit on the rear but up front they stick out way to much! as you also need to run a spacer for the wheel to clear the caliper, couldnt source a pair of 5x100 7.5x16 30et A's for love nor money!! but i got exactly what i needed on german ebay!! for 200 euros new old stock , there with the machinists down the road gettin the pcd re drilled, cant wait to spray them up and get tyres fitted!! Also got my self an old shed which hasnt been used properly in 20 years! just been clearing it out and changeing the layout this past few weeks, its gona be so nice being able to work on my car rain or shine with no wind!! or any pressure to finish it same day!!. there was a massive old bench for packing flowers with tons of cobb webbs and more spiders then you can shake a stick at! still need to finish painting the floor, the floors solid concrete roughly 4" thick so its ideal for cars,
  22. did you have any problems with any of the bolts being seized? thats the only thing putting me off doing mine, it doesnt need to be done its just i like things like that to be replaced before problems start occureing.
  23. there was a company on ebay doing carbon bonnets etc dont know if its the same company or not? but worth a try
