    I was in exactly the same situation last week. I couldn't believe it, there was this car parked so close to my driver side i have no idea how he'/she managed to get out. I was fuming when I found yet another dint on my driver's door.

    I have seen 'genuine' ones at ECP for £70. That's close to the parts club price which I presume is +VAT

    Having had a tussle with an R32 from standstill I'm sure the VR will outpace the V6 4Motion. Disregarding the fact that the 0-60 time is of limited use, the figures change depending on which road test you read - 6.9 seconds for the 4Motion, the VR is listed at between 6.2 and 6.7 seconds. As Kev says not much in it but I am inclined to say the VR would be quicker.

    So how would I go about ordering from my local VW dealer? Go in person and show my CCGB card? And how does ordering online work? I seem to remember Henny has used Smith Knight Fay in Stockport at some point - do they honour the discount? They are shown on the list.

    badger, if you're just off the A6 i think I might have seen yours parked in a drive? I saw one while back with OZ Tourismo style wheels but couldn't tell exactly what colour it was in the dark.

    Red M reg VR6 on A1(M) south heading towards Leeds last Friday afternoon. Followed me as far as the M62 - didn't think it was anyone off here though but I could be wrong.

    Just out of interest to see if we have the same problem Bally, do you have any noise from the rear brakes?

    Finally had it looked at and I have been told by a garage I trust that the calipers are operating ok. Releasing on both sides etc The guy in the garage also tested the rear brakes (rear wheels on the rollers and braking using the foot brake) and said it wouldn't pass the MOT. :( He recommended new rear discs and calipers. The noise only comes from the rear driver side and the caliper doesn't get *really* hot. Handbrake is pretty useless though! Not sure if I should get a second opinion, any ideas?

    I'm having my noisy (sounds like a bus) right rear caliper overhauled this afternoon - hope it works.
