Even with the supercharger whine you'll not beat the noise of a BMC CDA+decat VR6 in my mind. The VR6 is a strong engine once it's been given some TLC, you want to be enjoying it not fretting about when the supercharger's going to self-destruct! Then again, I'm hardly the poster-boy for VR6 reliability  Stone

I've the same question about VR6es now, there's no guide at all on my dipstick tube (:camp:) so I wonder if I've got it sitting too low and under-filling it. Should there be one? Stone

I'll have the bonnet bra - PM me the total including postage and your payment details, please?

Wow, would never have thought it was an aqua blue. Sunsets, eh? :D

Not sure how the tailgate would have worked, hinged sideways?

It was getting dark, but possibly an Ice Grey Violet in Flitwick on Tuesday, around 6pm? Was wearing some selective yellow headlights, got a flash and a wave. From the hat it may have been Josh

I'll have the seat rail covers, switch and rear turret caps please. PM me payment details, please? Stone

The snow's claimed another casualty - half the front lens has cracked and fallen out of my passenger-side front indicator, so I'll be needing a new one. No cracks please, but doesn't have to be perfect quality. Cheers, Stone

You're right, that's quite a good match! Probably no stress with the horn push either. Stone

Yeah, I really enjoyed it and we had a good turnout! Me too, which bit of Herts? There are 3-4 forum owners within 10 miles of me... Stone -
Air recycling pipe problem? Can it be deleted, replaced or repaired?

One being sold on here for £10... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?78586-vr-bits-and-bobs-more-added Stone -
Note that if you can't get it to talk over VAG-COM then the ECU may have failed, they sometimes go die and go silent (though the ABS can still work!)...which is a right pain when you don't know why the light keeps going on and off! Stone

I've got a pair of wishbones sat about (though in need of new bushes) if you need them, mate... Stone

The remanufactured group-buy ones from this forum keep the light on in both positions, much more sensible! (also you don't need the fuse...) Not sure if there were leftovers but plenty of people have them, could try a post in the Wanted section. Stone

Is it old fashioned of me to really like the OEM one? (plus that Porsche one is hideous! Sorry ) My C had an aftermarket wheel in it when I bought it - had no end of problems getting the horn to work, right and wrong sizes of boss, switches that didn't fit the centre... In the end I gave up and bought an OEM one and it's all been fine ever since. The OEM leather ones are a nice upgrade to stock if you've got a cloth interior. Or get one of the standard Momo ones? Aren't there two shades of Aqua Blue? Seem to recall something about VW confusing everyone by making the paint darker at some point..? Try asking fla or StueyB - two aqua blue owners :) Stone

Panels can be swapped over! VW recommend special grease but it costs a small fortune! Part number G00045002 - A 90g tube is just under £30 :-/

Wasn't best pleased with the service (and the incessant email spam after buying) since the part number was wrong on the website... At least it was easily fixable with some filing. Won't be returning though.

Are you talking about the corrugated pipe to the PCV valve? If so then yes, there's an answer... Remove all the pipework and the valve and fit a straight hose from the inlet elbow to the valve cover. Plug the vacuum leak by running a second hose from the inlet port on the head (next to throttle body, near the driver's side) to the carbon canister valve (blue thing on offside suspension strut with pipes leading to the carbon canister under the airbox). 42draft designs make a kit with a metal pipe in (link[/url[) or you can just use a bit of silicone hose instead - mine came in the Roose Motorsport hose kit and I think they sell them individually... You'll need to remove it and clean out the oily gunk every six months or so, just give it a blast of some brake cleaner. Worth thinking about replacing the inlet elbow when you do this, the rubber ones are slightly more robust than the corrugated plastic ones but they're still ****. Luckily 42draft also make a metal inlet elbow, Awesome GTi are the UK stockists. Here's my bay with both! Stone -
Plus they're baffled, plus they're nice and shiny, plus they hold a little more oil :) So long as you're not slammed then it's well worth it to avoid the rusty scratches on the stock one!

Yes, I bought pre-made leads from Vehicle Wiring Products (only place I could find orange 7mm wire!) and cut the ends off to length. I reused the coilpack ends from my previous set of leads and most of the spark plug connectors were still usable, but I needed a couple of extra ones so I got them from Just Kampers - their part number J10590. Be warned that they're not quite the right part - you have to file two notches in the sides to accept the OE lead removal tool - but close enough. Not hard to make up at all - the carbon/silicone wires are very flexible and can easily be cut to length with a sharp blade. Then simply insert through the dust cap and keep twisting until the self-tapping screw in the lead ends bites into the core and bottoms out. Then you can slide the boot back over and you're done! I used a little WD40 to help lubricate the leads as getting them round the 90º bend in the covers can be a little tricksy. Been working fine for the last six months with nary a stutter! Plus, if one ever fails you can just reuse the ends again and make a single one the right length for around £3. Think my total cost was around £30 plus a little effort :) The result: Stone

If you use a 24V sump then you don't need a gasket at all, it just has a channel to take a little sealant machined into the top between the fixing holes. Even better, it covers over the flywheel plate so you don't need that any more either :) Stone

Looks a lot like like Pearl Grey to me (LA7U, aka Gunmetal), but a little lighter. Aftermarket? Bit low for me but she's a beauty! :) Stone

You'd do better to buy them with the door cards, otherwise you'll be leaving the seller with a load of extra holes in theirs...
