  1. Hi Stu, How much for both rear quarter windows, rear numberplate plinth, rear wiper arm and one of the cubbyholes either side of the centre console at knee level? (I have one but not sure which side it is, so the other one ;)) Any chance you've got a moon roof? What colour are the rear badges? (if they're chrome I'll have the lot) Collection is no problem as I commute through Flitwick every day. If neither of the others can get to it I'll have the front bumper off you as well... Cheers, Nick
  2. Should be 191853615A 'grommet'. Stone
  3. Right, I took you a couple of pics so it's a bit more obvious! This is the resting position of the wipers. Whether I give them a little while or just a single wipe, they always stop here. But! When they start each wipe, they wipe downwards a tiny bit first. When they do this the outer edge of the nearside wiper clips the rain tray. The car's quite dusty so you can see the clean spot beyond the 'parked' position in the first pic. If you try to fit it one spline further up, it interferes with the driver's side wiper so you have to move both. Then they sit really high up and look crap! It's not a big deal, just something you should be aware of. It might be possible to adjust my wiper linkage slightly but it doesn't bother me that much :) Stone
  4. I've got a couple of stock front calipers you can have for nowt if you come and pick them up. One has a damaged bleed nipple but the hex head is still accessible so a spiral bolt extractor should sort it. Any use? Stone
  5. You need a straight-walled cylinder of silicone pipe, 100mm long and 83mm inner diameter. Pick whatever colour matches the rest of your hoses ;) Less than a fiver posted. (link) I had much the same confusion - the engine end of the CDA is supposed to be 85mm (and the MAF 80mm!) but the 83mm hose will fit over both. Go gently as it'll need a little coaxing onto the CDA, but it will make a nice snug fit. Note that if you use the top bolt of your aux belt tensioner to mount the CDA, you'll need to file the end hole a little larger in the perforated metal strip to get it over the bolt - also do the bolt up extremely tight, otherwise the belt will slip under load and make an annoying noise - and you'll have to take it all apart again to tighten it! You can also use a longer metal strip and mount it to a preexisting bolt hole in the suspension turret - bit less tidy-looking but easier to maintain. You're welcome! :) Stone
  6. You can't grind it off - the problem is that the spline is fairly coarse and you only really have two possible positions that you can put the wiper. One nudges the rain tray on the backswing and the other sits way too high! If you nipped off the edge of the blade so it didn't touch, then it wouldn't wipe the top of the screen properly. I'll take some pics tomorrow and you'll see what I mean :)
  7. I'm after a pair of the bumper-mounted side markers - tinted, not OEM orange. Anybody got some in their bits box? Just thought I'd check before importing a set :) Cheers Stone
  8. I could do with one of these too, now Nick's sorted. Needs to be near mint, no scratches or dinks please. What have you got? :) Cheers Stone
  9. Get it blasted and powdercoated first! :) You'll never be bothered to take it off again once it's fitted...
  10. New (aftermarket) coilpack is £78 inc VAT at GSF with 1yr warranty, don't pay VW prices for one! Mine went a week or so back, the cold isn't helping... While I was getting towed home the AA bloke said not replacing the plugs at regular enough intervals can be a contributing so might be worth swapping them at the same time, will only set you back £30 or so.
  11. You need two driver's side arms - the part numbers keep changing (not sure you can buy them singly any more since VW cottoned on!) but I think 6X2955410C is correct. You'll probably need to bend whichever one you fit to the passenger side in a little after the first few months as it will stop wiping the central section of the blade - just give it a bit of help to press the blade into the screen a little harder. Note it will clip the rubber trim on the edge of your scuttle cover at the very beginning of each upstroke (slack in the wiper motor linkage makes it swing down 10mm or so before heading up) but you'll get used to the noise pretty quickly! Blades should be 6X2955426 (driver's side, fit to Corrado passenger side) and 1J1955426A (passenger side, fit to Corrado driver's side), or you can use one of the Bosch packs - pretty sure you need 928S off the top of my head but do check! About £15-20 from GSF last time I got a set. Or you could read this:[link] (bit out of date since it was before people started fitting them to everything) or use the search function ;) Stone
  12. No problem - good to know they're still available, might pick one up to complete my spare lock next time I'm getting bits :)
  13. Great, there's another thing to replace in the respray. Mine has a big kink in the driver's side 'strut' (between headlight and grille), it's so close to 90 degrees I thought it came like that! :bonk:
  14. So, everyone wants to go, but when? Lets pick a date and run with it :)
  15. I work in Ampthill so I might be up for some of the latter :) I've seen a few dubs around (couple of Caddys, some Mk2s, one blackberry C) on my commute so you probably know them!
  16. I've got a pair of original wiper arms if you still need them?
  17. I've got the top (main part) of the inlet if you get stuck. The lower part and the throttle body are still on my car so hands off those ;)
  18. Hi all, I have four BK Racing BK166 17" rims (5x100 VR6 fitment) and tyres up for sale. Rim 1: [click for big pic] Brand new - less than 1 mile driven! Fitted with an Event WL905 in 205/40/17 with 7mm of tread. (bought new in Nov 2011) Rim 2: [click for big pic] Medium kerbing, scratches and lacquer spots. Fitted with an Event WL905 in 205/40/17 with 7mm of tread. (bought new in Nov 2011) Rim 3: [click for big pic] Medium kerbing, scratches and lacquer spots. Fitted with a Primewell PZ-900 in 215/40/17 with 7.5mm of tread. (bought new in Aug 2011) Rim 4: [click for big pic] Light kerbing, scratches and lacquer spots. Fitted with a Primewell PZ-900 in 215/40/17 with 6.5mm of tread. (bought new in Aug 2011) The tyres cost me £150 for each pair, and a set of the rims is £370 new - I ask £140 for the lot. Collection from Harpenden, Herts, or you can arrange a courier. Even without refurb they look great fitted, here's an old pic of my C wearing them :) Plenty of space for big brakes underneath. Thanks for looking! Stone
  19. The VR6 one is really nice, don't know why the previous owner changed it really. Suits the interior, horn works and you can use it to go round corners, what more do you want? :)
  20. Or you can fit decent headlight bulbs and leave the loom alone! ;) See this thread.
  21. Sorry, predictive text ('secs' became 'arcs') - made that a little unclear! Run the engine for a bit, then turn the key one click onto the accessory power position to kill the engine, and leave it there a few seconds. (supposed to be 10 seconds but give it 30 to be safe) The MAF works by heating up a platinum wire and measuring the resistance - the more air comes in the more the wire is cooled, and hot metal has higher resistance than cold metal so the ECU can work out how much air the engine is sucking in by how much the resistance drops. Doing the above heats the wire up with no air cooling it, so it gets nice and hot and burns off any accumulated crap that might make it give a false reading. Stone
  22. These guys were very good. Might be a little further than you want though? They're in Herts, postcode HP4 1EH.
  23. Sounds like a pretty reasonable price to me - my local place has a minimum order of £40 and that would just be a small amount of bits in flat black. The chrome coloured powder-coating is a more complicated process and they have to do more than one coat (at a minimum, a clear acrylic coat over the top!) - I got a fairly small amount of stuff done for my arcade machine and it cost £80 so £70 for an inlet sounds like a good deal. I'd put aside at least £100 for a proper job - you get what you pay for and it'll be a pain to change once it's fitted! Stone
  24. It's actually a much longer story but best told over a couple of cold ones  The short version is never under any circumstances give any money to Safestyle UK, who are a massive shower of chancers. Being told to f myself by the regional boss was a particular highlight.
  25. That sounds like a lot...but I'm guessing I have no choice since all potential donor cars will be rotten in the same place. Anybody got the part numbers? I'm guessing it's #11 (535803057A) "side member with reinforcement and welded nut left" and #12 (535803058) "side member with reinforcement and welded nut right" on this pic, is that right? Closest I can find... Stone
