Some fella on here who my mate bought a VGI off at Inters had one for sale. Can't for the life of me remeber his name though (John?). it's the fella who has about 4 corrado's, he was parked up on the CCGB stand with a blue G60.

Gasflowing A KR Valver Head???? Recommendations????
PhatVR6 replied to rado-steve's topic in Engine Bay
get in touch with Dexter on the CGTI forum, he's got some schrick cams that may interest you. -
but with and extra 60bhp, and some 80lbs/ft torque more too.
-
well, I've never had a 16v so I wouldn't really know, but all the ones I've driven were specatularly unimpressive. I always thought the 2y 16v box was a 3.6 anyway?
-
don't forget you'll need to change the hoses. or at least put banjo fittings on your braided ones if you have them.
-
if you haven't tried it you can't say it's too low. I've got one, and (in my opinion of course) it's perfect. I can still chuck it in 4th at 20mph if I want and let the torque do the work. in fact, some times I pull away in 2nd, change to 4th, then into 6th, becasue it's too much of a chore to go through them all when you're only getting up to like 50mph. but it's nice to know you have instant power on tap at any sort of speed you're ever likely to get up to on a country road. It certainly surpises a few bikers in the area anyway, and can keep up with my mates CBR 600 over 80mph. 3.6 with a 6 speed, or 3.9 with a 5 speed.

of course! porsche split rims as it happens.

not sure on the switch, i don't know if it's sbuld or an LED in ther I've never had one to bits, but it should definitely light up a different colour when you switch to main beam. Take the hweel and satlks off ans see if any borken bits of plastic fall out. is it a factory wheel or aftermarket? Hanbrake might need new cables, new pads ore discs or just adjusting you'lhave to look into it.

I only had the schrick on one of the mk2's.
-
yes, the pads are about 30% bigger. I'll be selling mine once I sort out the porsche/brembo setup. I've got boxter S calipers with pp3 turbo 322mm discs and Mov-It 5x100 alloy bells.

Just fit 288's and be done, I'm well happy with them you can use mk4 GTI calipers and carriers and pads, they are exactly the same as late golf3 VR6 ones but you need late golf vr6 discs as the mk4 ones are the wrong offset. they fit under speedlines too. but only just!

1., pop the mirror glass off and check outthe machism, it might just need a good old WD40 squirt. 2. the switch should go orange, the bulb inside it has gone. 3. could be a problem with the stalks. whip the sterring wheel off and see what you can see. stalks are the same os golf one, so cheap to replace, 4, you're gearknob has probably been cut down. and yes, it sounds like your handbrake comes up too high too. 3 clicks shold be the most it'll move. 5. you should be able to fix the horn when you take the wheel off to do the stalks. check for an earth and a live and that the butin actually operates and makes a circuit. check the fuses also. 6. o idea, I haven't got a g60!

I wouldn't have throught a bigger TB would make much difference (except lose you some low end torque) unless you do some headwork, bigger valves and a lairier cam.
-
you don't have to show me that either, I used to have a mk2 vr6 (2 actually) with a schrick on it.
-
AND IT WAS TURBOED TOO!

hardly pissing on anyone's firewroks is it? it's just a corrado vr with an EIP tuning turbo kit on it, built by stealth about 6 years ago. And Henny, my car has been laid up for another week! the fuel pump failed on sunday, so I decied to fit my clifford alarm intead of fixing it. so now it's alarmed and immobilied, but it still won't run right! will have it fixed soon, I'm racing at york dragway on sunday.

you might want to try upping the fuel pressure too. the 180BHP figure came from my mate who had a similar spec from a 2.0 ABF lump. He had to put an adjustabel FPR on it to get it to fuel right at high revs.
-
actually, the corrado ahs more room. you have to lower the engine mounts to get a vr6 to fit in a mk2 and still shut the bonnet. and as for trying to get a shcrick on there, forget it, the bonnet is well in the way. the 24v block is almost the same as the 12v one, you can just bolt the 12v mounts onto it and mont it up in the same way as the old 12v. that's how my mate's vento has been done anyway. he had to fit a different oil filler cap so he could shut the bonnet, but that was in a vento. I'l looking to do a 3.0 24v turbo in mine next year, so I 'll let you know how hard it is.
-
180BHP at the VERY most.

I've only ever heard mine pink when it got realy hot. Does it ever overheat at all? oil and water temps don't seem THAT high really, is it any worse when the water temp is around 100? If it's been chipped and you're running regular unleaded then it will pink if your knock sensors aren't up to the job., try running it on super or optimax and see if it goes away.
-
nope, you cna't do it. to fit a 20mm adapter would mean the wheel would be down to ET10, and for 8x17's that would mean some SERIOUS arch work needed to fit them. You'r best bet is to have you huds redrilled with the merc patern in between you vr6 one. but I think that might mean your ABS sensors will fall off!

IT SHOULD BE AS SIMPLE AS YOU SAY, BUT YOU NEEVR KNOW WITH ITALIAN CARS....
