they make turbos, work the rest out.

they will fit, but the 225/40/18 tyres will be a bit big, and you'll need 215/35/18's
-
you just unplug the rear diff and it'll run in 2wd as for my next step........read my sig....

LMAO!! windows look very cayenne to me. I say chop hilarious none the less -
the wheels off this are currently on my mk4 one of them had a 2" long crack in it, and an equally large flat spot on the rim. you'd never tell it's been repaired. it balances up as good as the rest, and has seen service on a croft track day without giving up on me (and I ran wide coming out of the hairpin and didn't half whack the edge of the track coming back off the grass too) so long as it's done professionally there shouldn't be a problem at all.

nah, you grind or turn the weld back smooth so you can't see it.
-
that is THE most bizzare way to take an engine out of a mk2. just unbolt the front! it's only held on with about 10 bolts. and why use a manky old B reg shell??

Coxylaad has a pdf of the BFH/BDE engine loom. I have it somewhere too but can't find it. We both mangaed to get our engines running using this diagram and the help of an electronically minded friend.

keep at it, using finer grades of paper and then polish and they'll be like a mirror. then again, I quite like the satin effect you've acheived there.
-
I've had cracked wheels welded before. Not had any problem with them, but the guy was a professional alloy/stainless TIG welder, and it's all he did for a living, so he was pretty good at it.

try Wossner, I think they'll do them. streetracetuning are the uk distributors.

no, vr6 has a beefed up input shaft with tougher 1st and 2nd gears. in fact, all the vr6 gears are much stonrger then the "lesser" boxes. with an engine with bags of midrange like the 1.8t, you can't really go wrong with the mk3 golf TDI box. same 3.3 final as the vr6. problem with mk4 boxes if the aforementioned 108mm flanges, and tha fact that they have low final dirves, due to the big wheels mk4's run. they arne't suitable for corraod's and mk2'as running smaller wheels. fit one of those and wind up the boost and you'll find it'll do nothing but spin the wheels in the first 3 gears.

I've done bruntingthorpe and donnington in the corrado, croft in the mk4, corborough in both, and kames (scotland) in my old mk2 VR6. loved every second off all of them, and will be attaneding as many as I can afford to for the foreseeable future. will also be taking my bike on them when I learn to ride it properly! been a passenger around blyton and mallory and on a crap ferrari day (driving tired old stallions up and down and empty runway, yawn) anyone who hasn't driven their car on a track simply doesn't know how to drive it. I don't mean that with any malice, I just mean that you learn so much about how to handle your car and what it (and you!) are capable of. for me, it's what cars are for, and it's what I'm building my corrado for. roll on the nurburgring :-)

you beat me to it, been thinking this for a while (shame my areches are already done)

ta very much i also doubt very much....700bhp indeed. not saying it's not possible, but that just doesn't look quick at all
-
keep your eye on the classifieds, really don't want to let it go :-( any offers at the usual address.
-
it won't play properly on mine :-(
-
blah blah blah apologies for the now removed statemnet (must stop taking these pills :-( )
-
maybe I should just build one car out of the lot! put the corrado shell on the country chassis and put the 4 motion leather, the 3.2 and all the other bits on it!

Not again!! I must be THE most indecisive person when it comes to my cars. After going to Inters last weekend I came back with a head just full or desire to go mad and get stuck into the Corrado again. But when I did the sums I realised I just can't afford to, and I've had to sell the Mk4 to fund it. I was all set to let it go and just buy an old mk2 golf or my mates SEAT inca van as a run around. Then I had a moment of sensibility that told me I'm an idiot to sell a really nice mk4 golf and spend the money on some bits of metal to bolt to a 12 year old Corrado that hasn't moved for 10 months. Then, to mess my head up even more, my G/F decides she wants rid of her Golf Country and wants a polo! (yes, this is after I sold her lupo 3 weeks ago....which had been sat on the drive for 8 months as I was struggling to sell it). I'd be gutted to let the Golf Country go, I love it. But I can't keep them all! ARRRGH!! my head is in bits. (again)

hey, why not fit a Kent GS2H cam (or whatever it is) whilst you're in there? and remember, never build a car you can buy! ;-)
-
yes, I do know that, but if they aren't very clever at race stuff what does it tell you about the road stuff? I was all set to buy the variant 3's before I heard this.
-
just ouf of interest, for you road going boys, it might be work giving gwent vw a call. Eibach have just brought out theor own kits. using their own springs, but with KW bodies and koni damper inserts. basically, the best of everything you could want for a road car.
-
Had a good chat with a number of people at Inters regarding suspension. The guy at Gwent VW had me all but convinced that KW Variant 3's were the way to go, but at £1100..eeek! the Demon Tweeks guy also said they are really well made. BUT, after talking to Grant Woodhatch from Grant Motorsport and Craig Inskip from CCI Motorsport (both VW cup race competitors of course) they told me that all the racers they know who are using KW's (mainly because they are being sponsored by KW) are having issues with seals blowing, stuff sezeing, and generally just not performing. Grant rates suspension in this order, from best to worst 9not saying the "worst" are bad, just not as good Penske Proflex Ohlins Leda KW-Koni-H&R-Bilstein, etc, all about the same, and noe of them any good for race use at all. Now this is proper advice coming from REAL racers and tuners. So ask yourself, do you actually want your car to handle? or do you just want to lower it so it looks nice?? I know where my my money is going, CCIM are a Leda dealer, and he's offerend me a deal I can't refuse, including full setup by Grant Motorsport in with the price. shame I have to build the whole car first and weigh it before they can work out the spring rates!
